Haven't shared any comments for ages but the dining experience herein Stanley Deli was seriously impressive!

Ordered the Xmas menu in advance and enjoyed 15% off with prior deposit .. FAIR

When we first entered the restaurant, we could hardly relate the place with 'French Restaurant/ Fine Dining'. It's more appropriate to call it a 'better-class' local cafe. Bun/ water were all served in advance which made them not 'fresh'! Don't mean to discriminate anyone, but the waiters are like those in 'HK cafe', in not too decent/ tidy dress code. Appreciated the welcome Xmas drinks yet they were tasted strangely, similar to the medicine.

Then, we could hear the chef / waiters shouting at each other inside the kitchen clearly. Weird!

After taking the order, the scallop arrived in 3 mins - not tailor made!

Followed by the foie gras with red wine pear, served in a COLD plate! The foie gras was not to standard, could not even classify whether it's the quality of the ingredient or the cook technique caused the problem. After tasting the pear, we suspected it was placed in fridge for sometime with the same plate, thus both the plate and pear were cold.

Lobster Bisque.. so-so, but overall the 'best' course. It's hot enough anyway. After the first 3 courses, we had no expectation to the main indeed!

Surf n turf (prawn and steak) ... apparently the prawn was not fresh enough that it's not juicy at all. Steak was not freshly grilled as it's warm / room temperature. First time tasting warm steak in so called French Restaurant.

Dessert was the worst, my mate commented the jelly-like pudding tasted like a cleansing soap. How bad!

That's all for Xmas even dinner and it's AWFUL! Will never visit this place anymore and don't recommend to anyone!

I have went to Stanley Deli yesterday with my wife and daughter for celebrating wedding anniversary and father's day. I found the previous comment to this restaurant is quite good, especially the waiters' service so that I suggest going there for celebrating such important date.

However, I have to point out the following items to my everyone about the so called "SERVICE":

1. The time of delivering food is veryyyyyyyyyyy slow - it took almost 2 hours from the first dish to the last dish.
2. Bad service or no service at all - My wife and daughter had asked the waitress to provide hot water instead of ice water.........do u know how long they could get it? It is half an hour later.
3. Forget part of my order - I have ordered one dish of noodle to my daughter as she was very hungary in the middle of the dinner. It was not delivered 45 minutes later. I guessed it is the style of it as it was a French restaurant. We just kept waiting......... Unfortunately, the waiter recognised forgetting to order the noddle until they collected our utensils at the end of dinner.
4. Quality of food.......ok only but not deserved such price - I had tried other French restaurants which could provide better service, better quality of food and environment with almost the same price.

There was one table (around 10 people there) inside a small room of the restaurant. They were very very noisy. The waiters could keep closing the door of it so as to reduce disturbance to others. I DO think the chef and waiters concentrating on serving those people and forgot others. If it is the truth, it is just a rubbish restaurant.

We always wanted to try this place and finally came here on a special occasion. It was literally next to the street of the “famous” Japanese restaurants. The place looks cozy with dim light. It was a week day so it was only half full. We ordered:

Seafood Platter for two HKD250 – 4 oysters, 4 shellfish, 4 slices of raw salmon and 4 pieces of raw shrimps; real good for both the taste and the value!
Lobster Soup HKD70 – very concentrated with slight cream and a piece of lobster
Onion Soup HKD65 – okay
Lime Sorbet – this was free; refreshing
Mussels with white wine sauce HKD160 – quite some number of mussels for us
Japanese Pork Chop in apple sauce HKD250 – the meat was in light pink and the sauce was good
Roast potato with onion HKD45 – this side dish certainly went very well with our main courses
Crème Brulee HKD60 – we always love desserts and this one was sure good
Soufflé in ginger sauce – one of the desserts was free and the soufflé didn’t collapse immediately when we started eating

We enjoyed very much of our food here. There was also free parking in the same building and the waiter showed us how to get to it. The set meals also look good and most of them are around HKD300+. May be we will also give it a go next time.

This place has great food. The Scallop angel hair was excellent as was the lamb. The biggest suprise was the Chocolate Souffle, it was magnificent.

The best part is that this place is a walking distance so it's great
