    1. Use the tablemap service to do booking.
    2. The restaurant is small and we are the only table.
    3. We have ordered one 8" pizza (ground beef, tomato and salami), half portion of baby back ribs, wings and two soft drinks.
    4. Need to wait for at least 15 minutes as the pizza is made from scratch.
    5. Wings are too greasysad. Baby back ribs are pretty okay.
    6. The pizza is a bit small and the taste is just okay. Difficult to locate ground beef and I wonder if this is added.

pizza - just ok and a bit small

Not a big surprise overall Cries Feb 01, 2011
Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
After seeing so many positive comments in openrice, i decided to give a try and went there with my friend before Christmas...
To me, the food there is not as good as the comments described.
As there were only two of us, we had only ordered two items.
    1. Poutine: it tastes quite good but it is not a big surprise to me.
    2. Fabio: to me, it is a bit oily and too heavy as there is too much meat. For my friend, who is a meat lover, he liked it very much,

Though i don't expect a really fine dining environment in this restaurant, it is really to small and too crowded. The seats are not very comfortable and it's like a fast food restaurant. I won't recommend people to come if you want to have gatherings with friends as they only allowed people one hour for the dinner, which is obviously too rush for us.

Overall speaking, the food is just so so, the environment and the service are below average~

    1 Hour Dinner?!  Jan 25, 2011
Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
Have tried to book a dinner tonight at 7:30pm
Was requested by the waiter to give the table back on 8:30pm.

Nonsense at all for booking a dinner can just eat for 1 hour,
i rather choose to eat in Cafe De Coral / De Fairwood / McDonald.
Even Causeway Bay area bookings can have 1 hour 15 mins time for a table.

Very bad image and will never try this restaurant, there are wide range of good choice for the food it provided.huffy

Friendly corner shop Smile Oct 14, 2009
Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
Dropped by last Sat. Daddyos boss was there. My gf and I met him two years ago, and amazingly he still remembered us and our instant photo was also still attached on the wall.

His hospitality and friendliness was a magnet that drove us back.

The corner shop is tiny but warm. It's good to spend a Sat afternoon just do people-watching on the bench. SOHO is such an interesting place.

Now on food. Quality maintained. Nice chicken wings that were not over-fried. Pizza maintained its quality and was crispy and crusty to the right point. Sea food spaghetti was good and the boss was not mean to litter the dish with shrimps, squid etc. Daddyos is not serving pricey or premium food but good food and a homely, friendly environment.

Very glad to learn the boss is now a dad of a two-month old babe and will likely be owners of an additional restaurant. lol

value for money Just OK Aug 25, 2009

H, L, and i decided to go to daddyos for some good cheap eats last friday. daddyos is a small, casual restaurant with roughly 20 seatings and specializes in american pizza. it was founded in early 2007 by eddie li, a self-made chef who experimented different recipes when he was young. even though the restaurant has only been opened for slightly more than 2 years, it has already gathered a small group of loyal followers.

the place was located on staunton street right next to cenacolo (one of my favorite pasta restaurants in hong kong despite its ABSOLUTELY horrendous service, to be reviewed later), and across from jaspas. we got there at 8.30pm and the restaurant was packed, so the three of us could only sit at the bar table with some shaky wooden stools (seriously, i am a 50kg female and still found the stool very unsafe. they've got to replace them soon before someone gets hurt).

we ordered only 2 dishes b/c food here cools down v quickly. the first dish to come was poutine, fries with (lots of) cheese, bacon, and gravy. this is supposed to be a signature dish at daddyos but i found the fries very soggy, wet, and lacked the classic crispy outer crust that i love fries about. there was also a lot of oil at the bottom of the dish, which i believe was because the fries were not deep fried enough and the cook didn't drain them long enough.

about 15 min after placing our order, there came our the main entree, fabio pizza on wheat bread. i personally do not like the wheat bread which makes a stiff, chewy, mushy pizza crust instead of a thin crisp that i am hoping for, so the wheat bread crust is in the menu probably more a gimmicky thing than gourmet reason. but hey, maybe it's just me. nothing particularly special about the toppings - it's pretty much the same stuff i get from pizza hut.

having said that, the staffs were very helpful and polite, and for the price we're paying i really shouldn't be too demanding. but next time i'll probably go back to baci's.

Food is good here. A very reasonable price here at SOHO.
We ordered clam clouder pizza, spicy chicken wings, onion rings, fries, ceasar salad with smoke salmon and two other pasta. It was great overall just the pizza isn't that crispy at all. We have some really spicy chicken wings there. which people would love if they look for something truely spicy and hot! they use the mexican chili and thing to marinate it. you can still see the chili chops on the top of the wings!tongue

the fries is quite good. The gal server suggested us to finish it within 3 mins! well, obviously it is impossible for us but the taste is really good when it comes fresh! so crispy and yummm!chopstick But I think the gravy could be better and with more cheeze on top would be perfect! mad

the place is a little bit squeezy while my other friend need to sit right at the door...

the service is quite good. like the gal servers are welcoming and helpful. When my friends wondering to have spicy chicken wings or normal one (coz 2 friends can't take spicy food), she suggested us to have half of each taste and suggested us to have some other food too. smileThe shop also waived off the cut cake fee ($100) since we spend over $500.

It is good coz we all gals have more than we can have that night! feel really full and content!lol

I went to Daddyos for several times and the service is really good.

    I have tried:
Poutine, HK$56: Good taste! Must try!
Spaghetti Puttanesca, HK$78: The source is good and worth a try.
Penne with Ham and Bacon, HK$78: OK.
    Clam Chowder Pizza, HK$138: Recommended.
    Margherita w/ Pepperoni,HK$ 118: OK.

They offer take-away service as well. The lady named Crystal is really nice. ^^

Oh, the restaurant is very small, like most of the HK restaurants. So better call and check the seats before you go.

Too much expectation Just OK Apr 04, 2008
Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
My hubby and i went to this rez with great expectation due to many positive comments from previous review. We ordered a vegetarian pizza 14" and a poutine. The pizza crust was kinda dry and hard as it suppose to be crispy. The ingredient was fresh overall but the source have no taste at all. We prefer the pizza from califonia pizza kitchen much more than here. the fries was good and the cheese on top is creamy, but the gravy added was too salty that we end up can not finish all the fries. Overall worth a try but no second time.

Heard about Daddyos, but never knew where it was! Just happened to stumble upon it after happy hours!

Had the Fabio 14" ($128) and a full slap of Ribs ($98) to share!

Very nice crispy thin crust! Oily but yet delicious pizza! They dont stinch on the cheese! Honestly can say its one of the best pizza in HK I've ever tasted! Good traditional yummy pizza!

Next time I definitely wanna try their poutine! Not many places in HK offers good poutine!
While were were chatting, I could see the cook piling the cheese on fresh made fries!

Read some of the recent comments below, I am kind of surprise, I've been to Daddyos a few times and thought the food and service is great. I still think they have the best fries in town. The place is small so don't expect much room.

Got a flyer of Daddyos in my mailbox last month, finally had a chance to check it out on Monday.

Team lunch for 5. Ordered a Clam Chowder Pizza, chicken wing, poutine, baby back ribs and caesar salad. The poutine is super delicious, can't stop eating once started. Chicken wings are nicely done, tender and juicy.

Clam Chowder pizza is a nice surprise. Never thought elements of clam chowder can blend so nicely with a pizza crust! Heard from the next table that the chicken linguini is also quite nicely done.

Will come back for sure for the linguini.

Nice decor and ambiance. Humorous and classy paintings. Nice music, but can be louder.

Each person pays just 90 bucks for all these! What a deal!

I love Daddyos's fries!! It reminds me the wonderful fries I had in Vancouver!!! Indeed, I can say it's much better that =P

The wings are excellent too~ Fr those who loves Buffalo wings, you gotta to try it!! and also their Poutine too!!

All in all, it's recommended, especially for those who miss the taste of food in North America.
