I heard of the Belly Dance nights organized in this restaurant so I wanted to tried! We really had a nice evening. I bring some of my friends and we really enjoyed the night. The performance is once on thursday evening but during a long moment. The dancers move around the 2 rooms between the tables and make the guests dance. Very nice and lively. We ended the dinner in good mood and happy. Otherwise, the food was good and tasteful. The service is nice and efficient even if it was very busy. We had a platter with some tasty crab cake, some crispy spring rolls... We drunk the spicy tom yum soup. And shared the refreshing pomelo salad. yummy! Then a traditional and creamy green curry chicken. A palak paneer, i loved the mix of the spinach and this real indian cheese. A curry crab. It's so good!! And some garlic and cheese naan. Very nice time there!!

We had dinner in this restaurant and had a wonderful evening. By accident we went there on thursday night and could enjoy the belly dance performance. It was so much fun. The dancers, even if they are asian, were very good and we danced with them. so much fun in the restaurant. Everybody was dancing it was lots of fun. The food was also quite good. We had the shrimps sashimi. It was so good. The shrimps were, fortunately, very fresh and it was getting so well with the sauce. And it's very cheap regarding how many shrimp you have on the plate. The chicken green curry was very tasty and full of crunchy vegetables. and first time we tried, thanks to the waitress, it's so good with naan! try it! we had also the black cod tikka. It was very good and soften. It had a nice time there. lots of fun and very refreshing.

I tried this restaurant because we found a flyers promoting about belly dance performance on thursday nights. We really spent a nice evening there. They also suggest special menu for this occasion but only indian food and we wanted thai cuisine. So we tried - the pomelo salad: very fresh and well dressed. I love this dish. - crab cakes: well crispy and love this traditional sweet and sour thai sauce with it. but the crab taste is not so evident. but nice anyway - Green curry chicken: well creamy and tasty. not too spicy as we asked for. Lots of crunchy vegetables. I love when lots of vegetable inside. - Tandoori cod : delicious. amazing. my favorite one. the fish was so tender and the tandoor gave a magical taste to the fish. - thai steamed rice. - Nice Mocktail. The belly performance was nice. 2 girls that was dancing in the middle of the table making clients participate. lots of ambiance. 1 time for like 15min. really nice. black point: staff a little bit slow and forgot things. they should give more attention to the guests. and the toilets' hygiene. Nice time spent there!

I'm Indian and I heard about this restaurant before. I think it's part of an Indian group in Hong Kong. I tried it with some friends I wanted to introduce them to Indian cuisine. We had dinner this week-end and honestly the food is very good. We only have a taste of the Indian dishes and the flavors, the spices and the quality are really here. We tried: - Paneer Tikka: The paneer is soft and very tender. not rubbery at all as I can't eat it in some restaurant. - Lamb Vindaloo: the flavors were perfect. Not too much. It's a quite spicy dish but this one was perfect. the gravy was good and well done. - Butter Chicken: No special recipe for this dish. But I really like this one. the sauce was light and I cannot stop eating it with naan. - Bhindi Hara Pyaaz: Quite good. the vegetables are very crunchy and fresh - Vegetable biryani: a little bit dry but okay - Plain naan: nice one. very soft. not too oily. Honestly a good place. and the thai dishes I have seen on other tables look very nice. Apparently it's quite nice as well. Think to book a table because it was so crowded!! and the ambiance and the music was very nice. Second time we come here on a saturday night. It was crowded but everything has been served quickly and nicely. It is honestly very nice and good. - Shrimps cakes : A little bit oily but really flavoured shrimps and it was well crispy. Perfectly fried. It was spongy and fairly seasoned and fresh. - Gado Gado salad : simple salad but the vegetables were fresh and crunchy and it was well dressed. So pleasant to get something fresh with all those spicy dishes. - Chicken green curry : the meat was tender and flavourful. good serving size and perfectly spicy. Lots of vegetables comparing to so many places. You can get it also with seafood. Full of flavour, lemongrass stalks, kaffir lime leaves, ground coriander... - Lamb Rogan Josh ; perfectly spicy and the lamb was very tender. - Butter chicken : there is no real recipe. so many different way to cook it. but this one was very good. Its aromatic, creamy and tasty. The gravy was so good so I had to finish it alone or with some naan.... - Sweet and sour fish : The sauce gives a really good taste and consistence to the fish. - Some naan and rice to accompany those dishes. the staff was friendly and efficient. to sum up : it was not my first time and won't be my last time!!! inj (Non-member) | Hi there, I just want to tell everyone an amazing thing that happened in Spice while we were having a gathering in Spice last Sunday. The party started just fine, except everyone came late. Well, in about one hour after the party started, one of the guest got a heart attack, the victim's wife rushed to the manager (Indian) for help, then I saw the Indian Manager went to speak to someone who looked like his boss...a Chinese guy, he right away made a phone call to the Police (I assumed). Then he came over to see what he could do to help. The first thing he did was to ask everyone stay away from the victim, then he took off his glasses, neck tie and jacket......ready to perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) for the victim. At that very moment, the victim was already passed out and laying on the floor. This Chinese gentleman started pressing on his chest with both hands and giving the victim mouth-to mouth resuscitation. After about ten times, the victim's eyes opened and his arms and legs started moving. This Chinese gentleman then rushed down to the street and looked for the ambulance, about a few minutes afterward, he came up with the paramedics and policemen. This guy really got everything under control. Later I found out his name was Kenny Ho, who was the General Manager of the Restaurant. It is the company's honor to have such a great employee. Frankly speaking, I never thought anyone would do such a great thing to someone who he didn't even know. Now this is what I call a HERO. Date of Visit: Sep 18, 2011 Occasion: Birthday

Food were fine, but the service is the worst if not the weirdest I have ever encountered. I think the manageress who served us were annoyed because we didn't order any starters from the menu. From there on we were basically ignored! This was our first and last visit for the restaurant. Table Wait Time: 0 minute(s)

Bought 6 coupons on beecrazy for lunch buffet, but i think it's not value for $138/person+ 10% services charges.Although we can order any kinds of food from the menu, but the services not good. Conclusion: taste good, but those waitness always in bad manner. Wait for a long time for each dishes, and always says: "it's coming!", but actually no one follow your order and finally miss it. Elyt (Non-member) | I went to Spice yesterday for its brunch buffet (I bought coupons for the brunch from Beecrazy). I planned to use them to take my overseas friend out for lunch. I made a phone reservation with Spice two weeks ago, for yesterday's 2-5pm brunch buffet session (30 April 2011). I even had to cut short our visit at the time to the Kowloon Walled City to arrive on time at the restaurant venue, and went through the trouble and expense of taking a taxi to get to Tsimshatsui in order not to be late. When we arrived, I was informed that today's 2-5pm session had been cancelled. I asked them why they let me book this time slot through the phone at the time, and the manager told me that they did not know why I was not called to notify me that I could not have brunch there today. I feel very let down by my experience, and so did my overseas friend, whom I had to convince that such treatment was not the norm for Hong Kong restaurants. We cannot understand how any reputable restaurant could take a reservation, and then not honour it, without giving any prior notification whatsoever. This is appalling customer service and extremely poor management skills. If you want a restaurant which will honour your reservation and which has attentive and considerate staff who put importance on good customer service, Spice is the last place you should go at Knutsford Terrace in Tsimshatsui. jnk (Non-member) | Very disappointed with the experience I had today at Spice. 1) Half the cutlery that we got at the table was chipped, 2) Rude staff members Incident 1: We were sitting across the bar and the waitresses were very inconsiderately speaking loudly and laughing about inappropriate things. For example a conversation i heard, waitress 1: "What are you doing with the hot water?" waitress 2: "I am washing my ass" *laughs like a hyena*. Incident 2: One of the dishes we had ordered came with a curry sauce, when we did not get the said curry sauce we questioned the waiter about this. He said the dish did not come with a curry sauce, we then proceeded to point it out on the menu, and the waiter said that he would speak to his manager. He then came back with tomato soup. Incident 3: The waiter threw our bill on the table while speaking on his cell phone. Incident 4: Overheard waitresses yelling across the restaurant to other patrons that last order was at 1:40 pm...the restaurant closes at 3:00pm. In terms of the food the dishes were mediocre at best, nothing special. In my opinion food and service quality at a cha chan teng is much higher then what I experienced at Spice. I picked Spice as this night's dinner spot since it had a good location, and my aunt wanted some South-east Asian goods. On a Tuesday night the restaurant was only half-full, and we were seated at a table with sofas and a curtain. It was very dark so but I managed to read the menu with the (pathetic) candle in the middle. We decided to skip appetizers and go straight to the mains, shared, Asian style. One Chicken Tikka Masala ($88), one Tandoor Fish Tikka ($132), one naan ($24) and a Pad Thai ($90) all came together soon enough after our drinks. The chicken tikka masala was the waitress’ recommendation. It was slightly spicy, spicier than the chicken makhani (butter chicken) I was going to order. The masala curry turned out very flavourful with a hint of chilli to flavour things up. The chicken was very tender – all meat, no bones or skin. 7.5/10 We ordered the naan to mop of the curry. Good, but nothing to write home about. 7/10 The fish tikka was, I think, mackerel (should’ve asked to make sure =P). It was actually quite spicy despite it being a dry tandoor-grilled dish – I guess the fish was marinated in some strong chilli powder / spicy marinade first. Mackerel flesh when cooked resembles tuna a lot, and if over-cooked it is tough and not pleasant to eat at all. I asked for them not to overcook the fish before-hand, and they really didn’t! Great job, but it’s still a long way behind their signature black cod tikka, which I had on a previous visit. 7/10 The pad thai was pretty good as well. I've tried pad thai here before, and loved it so I ordered it again this time. What was disappointing was that it only had a couple pieces of shrimp and dried hard tofu. There were some condiments such as ground peanut, chilli and sugar on the side for you, but these were really not needed since the noodles are well-seasoned. However, the egg net on the outside was more for show rather than to be eaten…7/10 All in all this restaurant churns out pretty good Indian and Thai food. The portions could easily have been more generous for the prices they charge, but then again, this is Knutsford Terrace (the “soho” part of TST)! Our bill came to $483 for three drinks, the food above, and service charge. For photos and original post: http://gastronomerr.blogspot.com/2010/08/some-tst-eats.html

Quite a lot positive comment here but it seems not justified. We have 5 fds altogether and considered the environment and food quality of this restaurant are up to standard. But pity that we did go through a terrible service expericence in this restaurant. Waitress got no smile and a waiter (seems like a captain) in poor courtesy (Throw the bill book on the table), also in slow response time. If you just pay for a meal with no add-on service expectation, just go ahead!

Had an enjoyable evening with my friend served with tasty Indian food. We ordered too much as we were very hungry when we first arrived. Here is the list of food & drinks we ordered: Appetizer - A great food to start with, crispy & little spicy ~ It made us even more hungry Samosa Vegetable - Very tasty, Very fresh and it is not spicy Satey Chicken & Lamb - I am on veggie diet, but according to my friend, it's a bit dried Yellow Curry With Tiger Prawn - According to my friend it is very tasty, I've tried the sauce it is very creamy and has a very good smell of coconut~ Garlic Naan - Very nice texture, not oily at all, with a light garlic flavour Indian Rice - This is the best rice I've ever tried. The texture is very good...hard to describe in words...You have to try it yourself! Kebah Vegetable - It is too soft and become difficult to pick. It is spicy for me. Taste is just average Dong Yum Gong Seafood/泰式炒通菜 - Standard Flavour, not very outstanding Sparling Water Pina Colado The serviceis good and the environment is very comfortable
