I must say I expect better service from Outback.

We had to ask twice simply for three cups of warm water. sad

The waiter and waitresses were slow-witted when we asked them simple questions such as whether it was still considered as happy hour at that time.

We requested for an extra loaf of bread but it never arrived. sad It's disappointing!

We kindly asked for a container finished ribs when a waitress asked if we find the food satisfactory, because we are always provided one together with hand wipes in other Outback Steakhouses. The waitress hesitantly promised to give us one, but again, it never came. sad

There was no cooperation between waiters. They didn’t remember customers’ requests and they were oblivious to customers’ summons. It took the table next to us ages to ask a waiter to make an order; it also took us some time to get the attention of a waiter, who was standing close, to give us the bill.

We weren’t asked which dressing we would like for our salads and were assumed that we would want honey mustard.

I expected more from Outback. Whilst the food was good, in particular the Fish and Chips, I would prefer visiting other Outback stores, especially those located on Hong Kong Island, in the future.

We went there at 5:30pm walk-in, the managers taking us in was good but the waiter named Jonathan was bad, that man was so impatient when taking my orders and forgot to bring me the salad. Wanted to complain to the manager but finally gave up. Service in the Whampoa shop is much better, so if hv choice, don't go to the TST shop but Whampoa shop. BTW, food was fine except the steak was a bit overcooked. I was unlucky in sitting beside a group of Japs who spoke and laugh very loudly, disgusting.

Went to Celebrate my birthday, we had 9 peoples 2 main course was 30 minutes late then the rest. and the 2 comes late one, the New York Strip was over cooked, the porterhouse is under cooked and one of our friend received an over cooked steak as well, so we did complain and they remake it..... and the nightmare begin.... my New York Strip came out blue instead of medium-rare, the meat is cold....... the porterhouse came out half of the steak is okay medium-well but the other half became well done like a beef jerky. And the gave one the the worst most chewy part (can`t even cut through) steak to another friend of mine......

And the worst part was the ``Manager`said if you want a medium-rare steak inside is COLD like that............. After that is more like I don`t even wanna argue with them anymore

Mediocre Lunch Cries Sep 05, 2011
Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
Decided to meet a large group of people here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Although the restaurant was quite accommadating towards the large group, the service had suffered. They had a good selection of lunch special offerings ranging from 78-100HKD which included salad, soup, and bread.. which isn't too bad... however the food tasted like microwaved frozen food. The salad was a few green leaves with some ranch on top, the soup was a corn based "Chowder" and my entree was the pasta with steak. The pasta lacked salt and was super peppery, and very very bland. Everything tasted like mush after a while. I am also surprised at an international chain such as Outback to have a lack of proper service. Only 1 poor waiter was serving a group of 15 people. Felt bad for the mate. All in all, will not be coming back, unless I am forced to pick a place that can hold large amounts of people.

Bad Food, Very Poor Service!!! Cries Aug 20, 2011

    huffy

Last Wednesday I had dinner with friends and I ordered a New York Sirloin Strip and asked for medium rare. After a long wait the steak arrived and was completely well done but was cold. Asked for a replacement and the server responded but in a very impolite manner, after a bit of deliberation they replaced the steak. After 15 minutes a replacement arrived, although it was medium rare the steak was "micro" warm but it was tough light and old boot. I just gave up!

We were finishing our meal (had not even finished our teas or coffee) and the server arrived with the bill (which we did not ask for yet!) and said there was no rush and we could check if the bill was correct and left it on our table. This gave us a very distinct impression they wanted to clear our table and have us leave as soon as possible and gave us a very bad feeling on the sort of bad service that this establishment was obviously used to dishing out to their customers.

About 8 minutes later, the same rude obnoxious server came back and asked for us to settle the bill. Instead of arguing or taking the matter of such lousy serive any further we just paid and left!. I must say in more then 30 yearshuffy + in Hong Kong that this place would receive my vote for bad food and worst service, even a Dai-pai-dong is better!

Bad Food , Poor Service.... Cries Oct 26, 2010

    sad
Last Sunday my friends and I went to this Outback Steakhouse to have dinner. This is not the first time we visit this restaurant but surely is the last time. At that night we ordered 1 app and 3 main courses. The app (Fired Squid) was the best dish we had on that night. The rest was terrible.

    1) Outback Special Sirlon Steak (I ordered medium well, it come out with almost well done, no taste at all, the gravy was really runny)
    2) Garlic Diced Steak (very tough, again no taste at all, very poor texture)
    3) Alice Spring Chicken (almost dried out chicken breast, smaller portion than before with higher price)

Service - poor, very messy, no communication between staffs at all, confuse customer

Thinking of Onion Rings, there is no other place better than Outback Steakhouse, at least in the appearance perspective. Craving for onion rings, we decided to pay a visit to Outback Steakhouse but which branch? I have visited the branches in Causeway bay and Wanchai before, and i dislike them all. I have had some bad experiences in Causeway bay, the restaurant is small, tables are packed together with limited personal space, restricted dinning time and bad services. Outback in Wanchai is pretty much similar and I had no interest in getting there one more time. My boyfriend suggested going to Tsim Sha Tsui as he recalled the restaurant is more spacious and so there we went.
There are two Outback Steakhouses in Tsim Sha Tsui and we went to the one in Oterprise Square. Going up the escalator, you could possibly deduce that the restaurant should be pretty spacious, with the restaurant itself occupying the whole second floor. Stepping in the restaurant, you could sense a causal atmosphere suggestive of the rustic Australian restaurant. Along with the dim lighting and the comfy couch seatings, it is the perfect spot for couples or big chatty friends gathering to dine in.
Upon settling in our table, we were greeted by three different waiters within 5 minutes for drinks, so we ordered a bottomless coke and just a cup of warm water for myself. Although feeling kind of pushy at first, the first impression was totally overturned during my dinning when I found the service Outback provides was exceptional and impressive. But first let's talk about the food.

    1) Honey Wheat Bushman Bread
As I have not been to Outback Steakhouse for long, I had totally forgotten bread would be served before starters. Doubling the surprises was the appearance of the dish, nice brown wheat bread with a knife extending from the middle on a T wooden pan served with a white dish of whipped butter at the side. The wheat bread had a nice pastries smell, it was very soft on the inside and was very palate pleasant with the butter. The butter is light weighted, a bit fluffy and very spreadable. Scrumptious as it was, I could not withhold myself from asking the waiter more information about the bread and the making of their butter. She told me the honey bushman is Outback's signature bread and the butter is whipped to give the fluffy texture. Taking the whole Brushman in had already given me much satisfaction.

    2) Bloomin' Onion
The renowned Blooming Onion came as a starter minutes after we finished the bread. The amazing looking Blooming Onion is a true Outback original and is especially hand-carved by their dedicated bloomologist to give the look. The onion was carved into many little blocks and each and every single one of them were fried to give a crispy golden yellow coating and a soft hot onion filling within. Looking like fries, the blooming onion had a more interesting mouth feel, much crispier, lighter and with the onion filling that is so soft, it literally melted on your palate soon after the crispy layer was chomped off. The blooming onion could be served with their signature bloom sauce but I personally prefer my very own signature Hot Tabasco Ketchup(personally mixed).

    3) Awesome Rib and Wing Combo
The Kookabura wings were actually the one we were interested in but we ordered this to try out their ribs as well. The Buffalo Wings were served with bleu cheese and celery sticks at the side. The wings were nicely seasoned, with a spicy coating. Seemingly the coating was fried along with sprinkles of cheese on them. The texture was soft and tender with a medium crispiness yet a bit oily layer on the outside. Deliciously finger licking good, a big thumb up for the Wings.
In comparison, the ribs were nothing really special. The ribs were tiny, the meat texture and the sauce were both so so, I personally think Spaghetti House does a better job in ribs. Thus the ribs are not recommended and you could save your stomach for more scrumptious food later on.

    4)Chicken & Shrimp Fettucini Alfredo
The fettucini Alfredo came in several minutes after the Kookabura wings. I was a bit discontented about it as we had just begun our starter, plus the fact that the waiter did ask if he should bring up the starters firsty. Nonetheless the fettuccini boost our appetite further with the amazing colour brought up by its glossy creamy white sauce topped with sprinkles of chives and Parmesan cheese.
The creamy fettuccini Alfredo was tossed with sliced chicken, sauteed shrimp & parmesan cheese. The sauce by itself did not give much flavour at all except creaminess but the fettuccini’s texture is good which gives medium chewiness. The Sauteed shrimp did not have much flavour either. The grilled chicken slices on the other hand was VERY tasty. It was nicely seasoned with a strong flavour, which should be too strong to have it along but was great to go with the creamy lightly flavoured sauce. Thanks for the sliced chicken, the fettucini Alfredo all of a sudden tasted delicious.
    Some Impressive Services...
What I found most amazing is the service Outback Steakhouse provides. Remember at the very begining I whined about the waiters being pushy? They were not, they were all very passionate in serving customers that every single one was eager to serve you. During our dining, my cup of warm water was somehow always magically filled without noticing they refilling it(I sat close to the wall with my boyfriend next to me near the aisle). Once the waitor saw me choking on my hot water, they proactively brought a replacement at the spot. They handed us plastic hand gloves for the wings along with some sanitary towels and dry tissues or whenever we need them. I was very impressed and thrilled by how I was treated. They made an excellent job in letting us perceive we are their valuable customers, and yes we are.

Nice Steak and Crab Smile Mar 03, 2008

We had a long time not visiting Outback la. So we chose to have a nice dinner on Sunday night.

In order not to be so full, we order a beef set and a spaghetti.
Augus steak with Alaska crab leg ($258): the crab leg was so delicious and sweet. The crab shell was already broken so we would eaily eat it. It was so fresh with a reasonable quantity, not like those tiny portion in the buffet. Angus steak was just as normal with stable quality.

Grilled shrimp with chicken breast pasta ($138): With cream souce, not as good as its steak!!!

Chocolate Thunder: Very tasty, highly recommend! cold ice-cream with hot brownie, a perfect match. And the chocolate souce is very rich. I like it!

The juice we ordered: Bango Bash and Passion Fruit smoothies. Bango Bash was more mild with banana, mango and vanilla ice-cream. Passion Fruit smoothies was a bit too sweety la.
