if i haven't read the below comment, i'd had totally forgotten about this shop. that night, due to time limit, just wanted to have a quick dinner before the show at hunghom. we visited this shop - my first time, and my only one. it was very crowded, when we ordered (two of us), i said xxx and then my friend said xxx, the waiter said "慢d, 寫唔切". and then when we asked a question - he told us "你地慢慢諗啦" and walked away. we placed our orders with another waiter afterward. just a common dish, 港式碟頭飯: 黑椒雞扒飯. i didn't take a pic, but looked the same style of the below comment. so ugly presented it's below par of an ordinary hongkong style fast food shop. taste? it's salty and not good at all. this shop is expensive, with poor services and poor food. a lot of choices around, do not visit this one. Beef Brisket noodle bowl is such a normal dish in Hong Kong that I do not hold any particular expectation on them. Yet I do notice the quality really does differ a lot from restaurants to restaurants. I am no expert in food, but I do believe the beef brisket tasted best when there are small amounts of fat attached to it, so it better be not to lean. This late night after drinking with a brunch of friends, a couple brought us to this particular restaurant where they claimed the beef brisket flat noodle bowl was nice. Since my boyfriend ordered that, no point of duplicating, I ordered my luncheon meat and egg noodles. 1) Beef Brisket Flat Noodles The noodles came in a big bowl, the portion was generous. The flat noodles was extremely smooth and chewy. The texture was the best that I have ever had, which somehow there was no word to describe how nice it was, no joking. The beef brisket was halfly lean halfly fat, and was very tender. The soup tasted nice and seemingly without MSG. It was honestly the best beef brisket I had ever had in my life.
2) Luncheon Meat and Egg noodles I had the noodles changed to Nissan noodles. The noodles was again extremely smooth, I bet they had added in a mellow of sesame oil in it. The luncheon meat was only slightly fried and hence tasting flat. The eggs was nicely fried with hard yolk. It would be a better bowl if they could fried the luncheon meat until golden brown.
The beef brisket flat noodles was a must try in the restaurant, and I definitely would revisit the store if I passed by the area. www.cinnamon4coffee.blogspot.com Recommended Dish(es):
