    It's a birthday celebration!

    Food was great! The only (negative) comment was that it's too squash and little privacy. Service was good - waiter constantly fill our tea cup.

    We order a set for 2 ($588/each) and also scallop and abalone. I love the lobster and foie gras very much!

    Highly recommended!

    Third time to this resturant! Came with friends in previous two times found the food really good, therefore brought my parents, who are both meticulous over food quality, to have a try , and late celebration for father"s day smile

    Tonight we got a young handsome chef to serve us ! Make my mum really happy !
    Most importantly, he looks much professional then his age !
    We can taste his secinerity from the food! Really excellent for foie gras and the wagyu!
    Since mum and I really can't tolerate the beef being too raw, we ordered medium well ~~
    While he could make it perfectly cooked to the degree comparable to my experience in Kobe beef ! Really juicy ~ even win the praise from my dad !!
    The seafood still remain good quality ;)
    Would go back again and ask the same chef !
    Thank for giving us a wonderful dinner !

    my girlfriend discovered this restaurant through her fd's fb and we finally got the chance to try out earlier this week

    we went to 天文台圍 one and was then showed the right way back
    we were served by sam that night

    the food was very nicely served and cook
    i was very impressed by the fact that sam was waiting for us to finish what we had on the plate before cooking the next dish or the balance of the beef
    he would even explain the way of how he cooked to maximize the best taste of the food
    dessert was very nice too

    apart from the very noisy "neighbour", we were very satisfied with the service and food

    One of the best teppanyaki i have had so far... the chef is always very cheerful and humourous!!! They always make a special effort to make different cartoon characters and write words with egg yolk!

    Those are just service techniques, apart from that the food is always good too, they always choose the best seafood for you, and suit the cooking to your taste.

    非常貼心的招待!!!

    Have a very happy moment here tonight to celebrate the birthday for my friend & I. This is the 2nd time to visit here & we are very satisfied with their service. Mandy, our chef never let us down.. she provided us a delicious meal and also gave us a surprise by drawing some funny & beautiful cartoon characters. Although she "complained" us we gave her a difficult task (draw a Winnie the pooh & little twin star), she finished the job with amazing surprised... they are sooo beautiful... Thx for her great job!!!

    It was my friend's b'day and he invited 7 of us for Teppanyaki... actually he invited 12 people but only 7 came! tongue Having reserved a table for 12, we were given the VIP dining room on the 3rd floor. The room was OK, but a bit dark. There was a minimum charge of $9,000, so my friend just ordered a bunch of food - most of which was delicious.

    Here's what we ate:

    * Small salad
    * Steamed egg w/ foie gras
    * Salty baby shrimp and bacon
    * Mixed Sashimi including Toro
    * Abalone and Lobster with beans
    * Foie Gras on French Bread
    * Kobe Beef
    * Grilled Zucchini
    * Lobster Claw Soup
    * Fried Rice
    * Choice of Green Tea, Chocolate or Black Seasame Ice-cream.

    Where to start? There was so much delicious food... and only two disappointments. Firstly, the steamed egg with foie gras was a delicious starter - the warm slightly salted egg balanced well with the soft foie gras. Next was the sashimi which was near faultless. The toro was amazing! mad Fresh, just the right temperature, and the melting sensation when it touched your tongue. The baby shrimp and bacon were a disppointment. Way too salty - I don't know why they would mix the two together? shocked This dish would manifest itself again in the fried rice which was to come later. The grilled zuchhini was tasty and robust, while the foie gras on french bread was just as delectable. It was quite cruel to watch the lobsters being grilled right in front of you - their legs still twitching, even after the lobster had been decapitated - but their freshness was unquestionable, and accentuated the small contrast in texture when served with the abalone. The kobe beef was scrumptious - as it should be.

    Overall the food was very delicious with only two hiccups. The ambience was a little dark and cold, and I think the environment would have been nicer if it felt more like a Japanese restaurant than a HK Japanese Restaurant. Considering what we ate, the price was expected, but still quite expensive. I'd recommend trying this restaurant for special occasions or... when you have a lot of money in your wallet tongue

    I went there with my family (wife and 2 children) for dinner. We went early and the restaurant was still empty. The waitress asked whether we want to sit at the teppanyaki bench or normal table. We were planning to eat teppanyaki so we picked the bench. We ordered a 2-person set menu for me and my wife and some a-la-carte items for my daughters. The waitress then came in and said something like we need to order drinks for the children since they did not take the set menu. So we ordered 2 drinks for them. When we finished all the food and were all full, the waitress came in and told us that we could not meet the minimum charge of ($400 per person) so we have to order more food!! Why did they not tell us immediately after we ordered or during our order? We could have picked the more expensive set and meet the minimum charge easily. How to order more when we are already done with the food and all full??

    recommended by so many posts here, i chose this restaurant to celebrate with the 3rd anniversary with my gf this yr.
    At first, we hv to share a counter (i.e also a chef) with another couple). I didnt like this much as I thought I could hv time with my gf alone then we can hv tailored request to the chef.
    Anyway, we order a set. N I would like to recommend 3 best here.
    shocked we love the Goose Liver Toast the best, the soft texture of goose liver is perfectly matched with the crispy toast. (sorry that we forgot to take pic with it as it's the 1st dish n we were starving, so we jux forget!!)
    Lobster , good too, it was fresh and it's such an entertainment to watch the chef to make it!!
    Scallop , taste good with the asparagus and butter.
    However, the special fried rice, as it was the specail treat for any couples' celebration, it tastes not so good n price is therefore set higher than reasonable.
    In all, good to try but not gonna go again...

    the worst bad is the fried rice. its abit tasteless, or maybe we were all full so the rice is abit dull compare to the food beforehand.
    the very last part is the ice cream.. i love their ice cream so much! i think its homemade.
    overall, food and service are great! tongue the bad thing about this is too pricy...sad

    It was a dinner with an old friend.
    He suggested this restaurant since he always wants to try the Teppanyaki.
    We ordered: 二人前御膳套餐 so we can try all the signature dishes there.
    The chef was very kind & attentive. He's also the more experienced chef in the restaurant. tongue Lucky us!
    The ingredients are all very fresh, especially the abalone & lobster, but in general the dishes were a bit oily.

    Best Teppanyaki in HK! Smile Mar 31, 2010
    Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
    Unlike some other Teppanyaki place that would rush thru the whole thing within 1.5 hours, the place really allow the time for us to enjoy the dinner peacfully, without the pushy feeling. Ben see fu is funny, skillful, and patient in explaining our stupid questions. Food is really fresh and awesome!

    Although it's not cheap, but given the quality of food and the excellence of service, it's totally worth the price!! This is the place you are looking for a place to celebrate or have a good time!

    Me and my friend ordered 1 cod fish set and 1 abalone set.
    Saw the other commentries, thought it was good..... But...... we were disappointed, the lobster was alive BUT the meat texture was cooked as if it was dead, and I couldnt get the taste of lobster becoz it was over-seasoned with salt and pepper...... Similarly, the abalone taste like an eraser with salt+pepper flavour......
    The foie gras is so so............
    The fried rice is nth special, and the beef roll is juicy but tasteless..........
    The cod fish tastes weird.... very "fishy" ......

    The worst of all was me n my friend were sitting right below the air-conditioner and our food became cold very quickly.... Though we tried to eat faster, still most of our plates became cold plates..........
    The ice cream, though already melt outside is still full of ice pieces.............................................
    The only thing that I m satisfied with was the soup...... finally i can taste a good balance of miso and lobster.......

    Recommended Dish(es):  Lobster miso soup

    Celebrated my brother's birthday with his family here.
    We ordered Hokkaido Set menu, with fresh scallop and prawns.
    I do not eat scallop so changed to Fish, also OK.
    Other set menu also available, but try Hokkaido Set which is good value for money.

    A Concert Which Is Eatable!! Smile May 30, 2009
    Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
    Pre-booked 3 weeks in advance by my partner, since she thought it'd be a good way to celebrate my b/day. At first I had high doubts as she was not fond of seafood. Nevertheless we gave it a shot as the reviews here does seem quite positive on different aspects.

    Our sous chef that night was Edmond. Got pretty good comments of him and I also had pretty high hopes. Afterall Teppanyaki, I'd say your experience relies very heavily on the chef itself. He/She as your performer for you meal, really does define a failure or success for teppanyaki dining!

    We opted for 2 set menus, which costs $538 and $638, difference being the cod fish or abalone. The sets consists of:

    Appertisers
    Half a lobster each
    Cod Fish/Abalone
    Foie Gras
    Teppan Beef (We paid an extra $208 for Aussie Wagyu Beef)
    Akita Fried Rice
    Stir Fried Veggies
    Dessert (Ice-cream + dessert made by the chef which was Jap Style Red Bean Puff)

    Positives:
    1. Ingredients was top notch and one good really sense it. When everything is made in front of your eyes anything would taste great. So nothing to fault in regards of food quality.

    2. The chef himself did a great job in terms of interacting with customers. Not only I expect good food, interacting with the chef is one important role for me. And Edmond did a great job. Not a moment did I feel bored or dull. Simply having a chit-chat with him, admiring his skills when he was cooking and doing "magics" in front of us is simply entertaining. Not to mention taking all the photos while he poses or asking us to take photos with him or with the food whenever possible. He surely does know how to make a customer feel like he or she's at home!

    Negatives:
    1. Don't expect you'll be the only one served. Some of the chefs have lots of bookings and depends if the one you choose are among the favourites, you might be dining with others. Unless you pay more and book a room to yourself!

    In HK when we dine we very rarely say compliments to the chef. Not in this case. Compliments to Edmond for a very memorable night. Although not looking only after us but we could feel his passion and warmth. So thank you.

    And thanks to Stelly....you're the best!
