This is not the first time I have visited this japanese BBQ restaurant and the quality is kept at a very high standard. Ever since the Japan earthquake in March, I visited this restaurant twice and I found that it was not as busy as it used to be. Food is still great though that's why I keep visiting this place! We ordered their remaining shipment of Sendai Japanese beef platter. Yummy! Feeling a bit sad that we may never be able to have Sendai beef again..... We also ordered the Australian Wagyu beef platter. The marble was evenly distributed and they were soft and melted in my mouth. I am a big fan of Japanese beef and ever since the earthquake, I have told myself that I have to be content with Australian Wagu beef. I am not just content, it was surprisingly good! The Australian Wagyu ox tongue was also highly recommended. It was thick and meaty. Overall, a very nice dinner and a place where I will no doubt visit again very soon. Recommended Dish(es):

The beef were very fresh and so as the chicken and pork. I really enjoyed all the bbq dishes. However, Korean fried rice was not very good. I highly recommend this place for dinner. Recommended Dish(es):

Not a bad family-orientated restaurant for Japanese styled BBQ. Had various meat/seafood platters which were all reasonably enjoyable They used to serve a very tasty taro ice cream from Japan as well, and allowed customers to order full tubs for take away!

Came here 1 night to try their Japanese Yakiniku BBQ. In Japan, Yakiniku houses have many gradings. Most of them belong to the Family Standard category, which families or couples could enjoy at an affordable price. Some are mid-ranged. Occasionally, you will also find and visit the really Top Grade Yakiniku-Ya's, which sell only top ingredients and dedicated farm-sourced Wagyu with the whole carcass bought and cut up at the shop itself, also Japanese Pork! ******************* I only took the photo of 1 Wagyu Platter (around mid $4XX): This consists of a few types of Wagyu breeds as well as Wagyu Cuts: such as Rump, Short Ribs, so called Rib Eye, Fillet, etc. Also mainly 九州和牛 such as 佐賀 & 宮崎. - Note that a singular Bowl of Rice here is $30, and Draught Beer is $50. To me, that is very ridiculous and not very ethical. Who in Hong Kong would charge $30 for just a small bowl of rice, except opportunists? - The so called Rib Eye wasn't entirely fatty as well. - I think generally the Wagyu Beef quality was less than advertised, with a lack of marbling and a very dull colour, which is disappointing considering this is part of the large En Group. The marination of the meat was ok though. - Other food such as salads, Beef Tongue and Vermicelli, Grilled Japanse Imported Chicken were ok. The only stand-out being the imported Japanese chicken as it had a lot of chicken taste, surprising for something previously refrigerated. IN GENERAL, Wa-En Hong Kong belongs to a mid-tiered Yakiniku house in theory as it carries some good items. The end result however was slightly below expectations, everyone else on the table had the same conclusion. Seems like Iroha is slightly better than here in terms of freshness and taste, although the food over there is slightly rougher in terms of presentation. Each to their own. Overall - a high '3' - low '4'
Ok Good but Meat Not That Fresh.

This one is similar to other EN group restaurant ... food are quite ok .. service is only so-so .. prefer to go to the ones in Causeway Bay instead ... overall food are not cheap however EN is one of the few Japanese food specialist specializing in their traditional food such as Bittermelon & pork, draft beer on tap, all kinds of sake and Jap. liquor drinks. Some of them also open quite late .... good for late dinner ... Spending per head: Approximately HKD500(Dinner) Other Ratings: Taste 4 | Environment 3 | Service 2 | Hygiene 3 | Value for Money 2

five ppl had dinner to celebrate birthday. ordered a mixed meat set, a mixed seafood set, a veg and beef rice in 'stone pot', a seafood soup and a tofu and seaweed salad. all meat and seafood is tasty. i like the beef particularly. seafood pot is too spicy for me. the veg and beef is totally mixed with the rice. don't know what is inside. the food and service is quite good overall. not too expensive. i went there last nite with friends (5 of us altogether) for the first time. we tried the grapefruit pork (sorry, i forgot the names of the dishes), mixed meat platter, pork (salt), salt beef & vegetable platter. the meat are all tender & juicy. as for the taste, the grapefruit pork & salt beef are great. especially when eating with japanese rice, the combination is wonderful! (chicken is just ordinary though). sure this is different from korean bbq. three kinds of meat are all quite good. personally i prefer the grapefruit and the ventilation there is pretty good. so at least you won't smell bad after such meal. as for service, it's ok. i wish the portion of vegetable platter would be bigger though. and i found them serving japanese customers better. can't have it often but i will sure go there again.
