I always associate Jumbo Kingdom as a touristy place and often forget about Top Deck. So I was pleasantly surprised when a firend suggested we go there for a birthday. it's buffet style and for an additional fee you can have free flow processo. Foodwise, it's not the best but given the price and the fact that it's a buffet, it's quite a good deal. Of particular note is the green mango salad which was great on a hot sunny day. the appetisers are much more appetising than the mains and the desserts rather lackluster. what does shine for this venue is the fact that it's got a gorgeous deck where you can dine al fresco. with sunny days being rare in Hong Kong, on days where the sun doth shine and you can relax with some bubbly, 400 a head really isn't too much to ask for. I was trying to find somewhere outdoor for a Sunday lunch/brunch. Top Deck popped up on the searching list. So I gave it a try.

The last time we went to Top Deck must have been over 2 years ago, it used to be a regular thing on the list when visitors were in town, but after the last visit we decided it was a little tired and the food quality had gone down….BUT we decided to give it another try on Sunday and were pleasantly surprised…what a difference!!! Food – The quality has improved so much that I found myself wanting to try a little of everything. Starting with oysters, prawns and crab claw which were all chilled, fresh and tasty. Moving onto sashimi which although it wasn’t cut very nicely was good quality. Salads and cold meats were all tasty without too much dressing. Moved onto the hot section, the roast lamb was incredible, really tasty and super tender. Veggies were crunchy. Duck was beautifully roasted. Spring rolls…we’ll leave that for dim sum as they were pretty tasteless. Finishing with eggs benedict which was very tasty, the muffin was still crisp and the egg runny which is impressive for a buffet. Lastly the deserts, I tried a little of everything and wasn’t disappointed, chocolate crepe was yum. Atmosphere – Busy Sunday as always, sometimes forgetting you’re in Hong Kong with all the westerners there. It’s not the sort of place you would go if you want a quiet relaxing Sunday brunch, but for good food, high energy atmosphere and great location you can’t beat it in Hong Kong. Make sure you have for a shaded table, unless you want to get a sun tan while you’re eating. I should point out, you can go there for a really pleasant and quiet lunch/dinner on any other day, just that Sunday’s are packed. Service – What an improvement, we always had a full glass of bubbly, plates were cleaned away swiftly and the staff were really aware of our needs. I would say that our glasses were probably filled up too often, but who is going to complain about being served too much free bubbly… Price – Compared to all the other Sunday brunches popping up in Hong Kong, this one is still very good value for money. A great way to spend a Sunday with family and friends, we’ll be back! Table Wait Time: 0 minute(s)

We went for snacks and a bottle of champagne on a sunday night. When presented the bill, we were charged the price of their most expensive champagne (1200hkd) instead of their cheapest, which we had ordered for 680hkd. When presenting the menue and the bottle to the waiter, the bill was changed. We were told that our bill got mixed up wth another table. However it was a quiet evening with only about 6 tables taken and we didn't see anyone else with a wine bucket. Also except for doubtful explanaitions we did not get anything like a 'sorry'. Be careful with the bills you receive in case you should visit top deck! Date of Visit: May 20, 2012 Occasion: Birthday Spending per head: Approximately HKD550

previously I had wrongly post some fotos of Top Deck to Jumbo Kingdom column. Though they’re belonging to the same floating boat same company. After a while, it’s time for me to post the right review at the right place!
for the dessert, we had tried the cheese cake with strawberries. It is really a normal dish, just comme ci comme ca. I’m impressed that Top Deck serves such nice view of the sea, I believe it would be wonderful if it happens to visit here at day time instead of night time.

peterb (Non-member) | I recently took my mother and father who were visting hong kong for the first time. they were blown away by the venue witrh all the lights and kitch hk charm, there really is no other place like it. we were thinking about going for chinese food but decided to eat at topdeck. I have to say it was a great night, although it was a little busy the waiters were friendly and efficient and the food was fantastic, seems things have changed for the better over the past 18 months since my last visit. most importantly my parents really enjoyed the evening, we will return! this side of HK island is in great need of good restaurants like this as there are very few options and I generally have to travel to central to dine. so good work topdeck. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with fizzy wine and copious amounts of food and chat. Food - good selection but don't go too frequently as it gets a bit repetitive. All freshly cooked though and certainly a good mix. Wine - well, it's fizzy white wine. Still hits the spot though given enough glasses that is. Staff - seem nice but sometimes a bit slow with the wine. Environ - second to none. Great to sit outdoors with friends and food - no complaints there at all. Overall - will definitely be going again, but maybe only once or twice a year. Table Wait Time: 0 minute(s)

The taste of food was relatively good for western cooking of seafood. A table of 4 and shared a platter of Thai appetizers for 2 and The main course seafood platter for 2. Dessert. But we had 3 bottles of wine and 1 round of after meal drink. And it costs each of the 4 of us HKD 900! Please please change the uniform of the servers. It is really romantic to have your wine being poured by a guy in printed shorts (it's the really short ones, not the ones to the knee) I thought they were wearing PJ Date of Visit: Aug 15, 2009 Spending per head: Approximately HKD900(Dinner) Other Ratings: Taste 4 | Environment 5 | Service 3 | Hygiene 4 | Value for Money 1

For some reason, booking proved difficult even as a VIP of the Group! Finally able to secure a table for 4 last Sunday for its "Seafood brunch buffet" PROs: - Unique setting / location - Free-flowing sparkling wine & soda - 2 hr free parking - Asia miles accumulation CONs: - Limited selection of seafood (shrimp, mussels, oysters, crayfish) ...size- oysters and mussels were unbelieveably tiny!!! ...quality- taste is rather dull & doesnt feel fresh at all - Japanese sashimi & sushi but quality is oh no! Really, you go there for the relaxed environment & 'experience'. Perhaps for its drinks & cigars on the terrace, BUT never again for its seafood brunch buffet!!! Spending per head: Approximately HKD330

My friend C lived at abedeen and We (I and friend E who live very far away) have a good excuse to spend our holiday at top deck. We arrived at 12 and left at 5:30pm. Referring to the previous comments on seafood, I can just say the taste not bad but not good with my high expectation. Salads and the hot dishes are okay. I like the egg benedit as it seldom serve at brunch and Movenpick as well. I finished it with 4 scoops of ice-cream. So sweet and so happy holiday. We got credit discout with 15% off. CYC (Non-member) | It's a nice place to have brunch. From 11:30 to 4:00, you can enjoy brunch with unlimited bubbles. Patrons are mosting expats; family type. The kids have a playroom by themselves so they are not running around ; screaming besides your table. Good quality seafood -- oysters, sushi, sashimi, alaska crab legs, prawns ..... For hot dishes, besides western types e.g paela, pizza (fresh from the oven), pasta, bbq meat, they also serve asian dishes like : chicken tandoori, thai prawn cakes, chinese steamed fish, peking duck ..... Overall, if you are looking for a place to spend Sunday with families, go there P.S. Special promotion ---- 1 kid free for every 2 accompanying adults; don't know until when Spending per head: Approximately HKD360 Other Ratings: Taste 4 | Environment 5 | Service 3 | Hygiene 3 | Value for Money 4
