This a late review, but realized I had not made a review. I am from Canada and I frequent Hong Kong. Last summer, I chose to work over the summer in Hong Kong. I ended having to spend my birthday away from my home and family. However, I still wanted to celebrate my birthday and I decided to celebrate it with a group of friends that I met over the summer. I had trouble finding a good place to go eat. I usually prefer Korean food, however, Korean food in Hong Kong is not that great. Therefore, I opted out to try out Japanese food (as it is better in Hong Kong compared to Canada). I had booked in advance for a large group. Fortunately, they were able to fit us even though places are usually packed or are small. They gave us basically the entire 2nd floor XD. My friends and I were greatly pleased by the ambience as it was comfortable (kinda chilly tho) and the service was very satisfying. The pricing was decent for Japanese food (affordable). The food was great. Though not necessarily amazing, it was perfect for the occasion of my birthday and very delicious for my stomach. I had gotten a curry udon and a bit of sashimi. It was a good balance as I like noodles, yet I still wanted some sashimi (but wasn't totally in the mood for sushi necessarily.) They had a nice array of choices for both vegetarians and meat lovers. In addition, they were very flexible and had many combos (which I love XD).Overall, there was nothing that I could remember, other than it being chilly (which is typical of Hong Kong), that was bad.  continue reading

最近我的很沉迷在找尋家庭式的料理,對我來說家庭式的料理才可以深入了解該國家的文化及特式了吧。好比說如果日本的食物代表是壽司和天婦羅,我們可以知道原來日本因為四面環海而得出他們比其他的國家有更多的海產了。天婦羅也是抽取於西方炸的方式而結合,也很能代表日本人很有創意的特點哦。(扯得很遠就是哈哈。)又是一直都經過這餐廳很多次的了!!!又是一次又一次的錯過,今次又終於把起勇氣(?) 和決心去探訪了!雖說兩星期前我去吃了日式家庭料理可是這個好像是打著媽媽做的口味。我不是日本人也不知道日本媽媽做的口味是什麼。不過我在日本銀座倒有嘗試過一個很友善的大媽做的定食,真的超好吃。希望ママごはん (mama gohan) 可以帶給我同樣的感動吧。餐廳不是太大, 格局是偏暗的。附近也有幾個日本人用餐(這個有少許加強我的信任度,至少日本人也會在這裡用餐哦。)menu 看似選擇很多其實都是差不多的食物再夾雜不同的套餐。我最後選擇了鐵鍋咖哩芝士奄列飯 (不確定名字是不是這樣,總之就是差不多。)上一次在嘉兵衛嚐過的味噌湯算是我人生暫時渴過最好的了吧。今次在媽媽吃的又是變回平常在日式餐廳的有點馬虎的湯。太咸了。我知道味噌湯都是有分白味噌(比如仙台味噌)和赤味噌(比如西京味噌)赤味噌偏咸白味噌喊度教低也比較creamy我不知道媽媽做的是白或是赤,不過對我來說這不叫我理想中的日式口味了( 不喜勿插><)咖哩當然是日式咖哩風,偏甜是當然。有點辣味,這樣的結合咖哩汁吃起上來十分的惹味。奄列煎得很漂亮。配合著芝士片十分的好吃。(哈哈這次用的芝士叫合理,如果我平常在某些餐廳吃看到這些芝士我會超生氣,我幹嘛給你這樣的價錢卻叫我吃超市吃的芝士片,起碼你都要像mcd一樣找些會溶化的芝士吧。雖然大家都是cheedar芝士,因為是媽媽的料理所以在家的話當然會用這樣的芝士片啦~)但份量其實是很大我最後完全是吃不完的。還剩下一半,建議兩人共享這個吧。總括來說是不差的。下次會嘗試這裡的蛋糕了吧~ 因為晚餐太飽了。沒有機會嘗試了。價錢上也叫略貴,不過在這個地段倒是見怪不怪了。 continue reading

媽媽做飯離小妹的公司不遠,有時沒有帶飯便最愛跟同事到這裡午飯。Mama Gohan是正宗日本人開設的,賣的並不花巧卻有家的感覺,它共有兩層,地下是快餐形式的(no service),一樓是日本料理店,一樓當然環境比較舒適,地下跟一樓的餐牌基本不同,但也有好幾道相同的菜色,而相同菜色的價錢比較起上來,地下會比一樓便宜十多廿元。是日選了港幣$108的魚生飯配以面豉湯、溫泉蛋及沙律,前菜還可加錢選三文魚刺身。面豉湯不會太鹹而且個底仲有好多料架,有豆腐、海帶同日本魚蛋。溫泉蛋好滑,再配以蔥花同淡淡既醬汁,冇得輸呀沙律普普通通啦,通常加左芝麻汁既菜都係開胃又唔會難食既。主角魚生飯,太足本了,粒粒珍珠飯配粒粒三文魚、墨魚、吞拿魚同甜蛋,還有蟹籽同兩大隻甜蝦,唔覺唔覺會食多左好多飯架~~~講真,lunch要百多元係有d貴,但間中一次食好d就冇所謂啦,最重要係每次去都係六、七成入座率,唔使等位嘛。 continue reading

為慶祝我地結婚4週年尼个特別的日子“52014”,我早係幾个月巳選定Mama Gohan尼间日式料理店作為我地慶祝的地方。一來我同我先生好鐘意日本野,二來之前“飲食男女"亦有介紹so……😅我开頭諗住walk in,但後來係fb見到佢話要訂位/whatsapp留位,咁我咪選擇後啫,而佢地亦好快答我“confirmed”。我地今日亦早到左15分鐘,見到佢地門口的design都幾日本下(好得意),入到餐廳入面下層的燈光都幾暗下,人亦唔多,心諗早知唔洗訂位😅。之後有个男waiter問我地幾位,我話訂左2位2点的,跟住佢就話咁你地上2樓啦!上2樓?点上?係邊到上又冇講到,咁我地只好繼續行入去跟住就見到條可以上上層的樓梯。原來2樓先係最多人(差不多full晒)😲上到去亦冇人帶位,幾經辛苦見到个waiter &同佢講2位,佢好隨意就話“坐住尼到先”😧坐抵左menu都睇完&想落單点知仲難,揾極人無人理&只講:等等等等😥(好心唔夠人就請多幾个啦!話晒都已經开業1年啦麻),点知原來落單/帶位/負責出order都係同一人(2樓个个waiter)😨唔理咁多落左order先算,我地選左“咖哩海鮮燴飯配溫泉蛋+香味湯”&“烤醬油牛柳配白飯+香味湯”,2个set都有跟一份前菜,D前菜好精緻,有凍豆腐、香草蕃茄仔、炸雞一件、一碟仔好似蘿蔔絲物體。前菜整體都幾好味,係个炸雞頗為dry&淡左DD。个“咖哩海鮮燴飯“賣相一流,但个味道又係淡左D,如果个咖哩可以濃番D就 perfect.个“香味湯“幾好飲,有D似我之前係北海道飲過的味道😆裡面有蘿蔔/三文魚落足料去煲。个“醬油牛柳”我覺得最正,食到以前我媽媽煮牛扒个个味(冇講笑),辣辣地有D黑椒粒,又好似有D李派琳x汁的味咁😂牛柳亦相當淋……總之尼个超正呀!下次再嚟必試之選✌食飽飽飲番杯熱咖啡再加件“自家制沫茶卷蛋”,咖啡咪講笑香濃到不得了,非一般飲到的熱咖啡。而个卷蛋亦同我食开的唔同,奶味重,表面軟綿綿!简直happy ending……希望佢地可以改善一下人手问題就好啦! continue reading

同事話之前收到宣傳單張話想試試印象中上環呢頭日本餐廳真係一隻手數得晒由於12:00食飯關係, 始終都無咁多人入到去, 侍應問, 係咪食set ga ?係就直行上樓上本來坐左落一張4人枱後尾有位似乎係話事人既男侍應走過來問我有冇訂位我話冇咁個男侍應就話如果冇訂位, 就唔好意思la要坐另一張枱因為好多人都訂左枱, full晒跟住去左一張枱, 見到枱側有張椅但張枱似乎係for兩人用, 我地3個人好似有點迫但無計, 鬼叫冇訂枱, 唯有照坐一睇餐牌, 嘩, 有部分食物都好貴咁wor不過反正一場黎到, 就食好d兩位同事都點了角切魚生飯set (98蚊)我就叫左個燒牛柳飯set (128蚊)食物端上枱, 賣相好靚件蛋糕係個set包埋, 但如果叫其他set, 要另加30蚊但一食落口, 感覺唔係咁好味, 30蚊似乎唔多值內有忌廉同少許nuts除左件cake, 個set整體都唔錯最後叫飲品, 侍應話凍飲要加5蚊 (其實價錢看上去係貴, 但佢講有咁多人book位, 咁證明都應該有其受歡迎程度既) continue reading
