It’s a rainy day and there was nothing in the fridge. I decided to go for a quick walk with my baby. Once I got off the lift, my stomach is calling me. I decided to go to the Chan Kee Tofu dessert Snack Shop!
I ordered a steamed rice roll (腸粉) to start. It was steamy and the sweet sauce and peanut sauce matched perfectly. After the snack, my baby was still sitting contently in his stroller. He started cooing with the school girls across the table, so I decided to order my favourite – black Tofu (soy bean curd) dessert.
It was freshly made just a minute ago and IT WAS FABULOUS! I added a tiny bit of brown sugar on top and it was just right. My little baby started being impatient, and so I let him have his first bite of Tofu his life and he immediately stopped crying.
It’s worth the price to pay $15 for a cheap lunch and a wonderful memory in a neighbourhood snack shop.
