Usually go to other Itamae Sushi or the Itacho Sushi (can order by 1 piece) branches. The other day needed a quick lunch and thought I'll come to this particular shop, having not been here for a few years.

The quality of the fish was so bad - some of them were dark and most of them were really fishy. I have a feeling its because there's something wrong with the 'temperature' control here because the fishes were all way too warm.

Not only that, but the sushi chefs here have poor skills, the sushi rices are round! The fish cut has jagged edges.

Was afraid I would get gastroenteritis or salmonella food poisoning just as this branch had a problem with before, approx 2-3 years ago.

NOT RECOMMEND. Go to their other branches.

My girlfriend and I are both sushi lover.We been to this Itame on 9Apr evening after 2100. Not many people waiting but stil 15mins to get a seat.
The 1st thing impressed was the price, some of the sushi raise the price by $5 - $10. We order couple dishes then waiting and waiting... but nothing is coming... we found that the dishes we ordered are sent to another table! the waitress place the order wrongly. So we have to catch all the dishes sent to that table. No body sims to care about it!
The Ikura sushi was bad, it turned sour! I think it is treated badly in stock! Really disappointed.
Also the waitress missed an order, we have to wait 10 mins to catch a waiter and replace the order. Everybody sims so busy and unfriendly working there!
Finally, we got the jetpot! When we check the bill, we find that our 响螺Sashimi($45) was charged as 赤貝Sashimi($70). When we ask for it, another waiter come and said we did had the 赤貝Sashimi and insist we have to pay!
Haha, thanks for the hospitality!So we paid, and leave!

My other half and his colleagues wanted to have sushi, we ended waited for a long time.

Here's my comments:

Sushi Rice: The vinegar is not evenly mixed together and u get one portion sour than the rest. Some of the chefs did not have proper training as to how to make good sushi rice, some made it too hard others too loose.
Eel-Unagi - It was pre-cooked when delivered to them, so all they did was to reheat the eel. Which is easy to do and should not be bad, however, our pieces were not even warm and texture was tough.
Egg - Tamago - to tell a Japanese restaurant if they are good or not, apart from trying their sushi/sashimi is to try out their tempura and tamago. If the tamago is not made by themself or has been poorly prepared, that restaurant has to be a bad one. As for this place, the portion of eggs versus water is not right, should put in more eggs.

In my personal views, one ended up not cheap and for that amount, the quality is not value for money at all.

There are better choices in the vicinity.

I am very disappointed that the services are too bad. I was choosing the food of the menu with my friend, suddenly, the running water is thrown the water to me. It was so crazy. I shouted, but no body heard or pretended deaf. I told the waitress that was made. She cleaned the menu and gave some issues to me only, but not said something apology. That was so worst working manner. Sometimes, the waitress took away an empty disk and crashed my arm. Finally, after the bill and took away the receipt book, also crashed my arm again. That was too bad services!

I WENT THERE ON THU AFTERNOON, THERE ARE SO MANY PPLS WAITING OUTSIDE OF THE RESTAURANT, I HAVE TO WAIT FOR ABOUT 30 MINS. AFTER WE GOT THE SEAT, WE ORDER 8 DISHES OF SUSHI, IT TASTE NO GOOD, ESPECIALLY THE RICE WAS 2 SOFT, I DROP ALL OVER THE TABLE, AND THE FISHES IS NOT FRESH ENOUGH.

IMPORANT WARNING

This sushi shop is like heroin. You will become addicted to it once you try. Think twice... haha

Huge waiting crowds for most of the time. If the queue is too long, you may go across the street to the Relaxing Tea House for a cup of quality herbal tea whilst you are waiting.

Highly recommend Roasted Fatty Tuna (Toro) sushi. Much better than Toro sashimi. When the surface of the toro is roasted, it brings out the fragrance of the tuna oil much better than it being raw. Must must must chew it thoroughly before swallowing... otherwise the death of the tuna would not be worthwhile ga la... hahaha

The left mouth fish edge sushi is also nice. Also high fat content. My second best favourite.

Totally agree with Hungry Tiger. This sushi shop is better than the Fung sushi in CWB. However, readers pls note that the difference of quality of the food served by the two restaurants is reflected in the prices charged.
