had 咖喱牛腩撈麵,清湯牛筋撈麵,醉雞and腩汁蘿蔔the noodles were great, but the curry beef brisket was so hard to chew and there wasn't much curry flavor but oil..the drunken chicken was ok, but the radish dish was really bad.. no 腩汁taste at all.. n the radish had a lot of 筋..the only good dish was the 牛筋撈麵, 牛筋was"淋"enough n the noodles were 彈牙

compare the price with the other shop, it's too expensive. i'm saying this cause the quality of the food is not better but worst; the soup has no taste, a very small amount of meat is with the noodle....it's not what i'm expecting from this shop....a few years ago everything was perfect... Spending per head: Approximately HKD60

Second best 清湯腩 in HK, in my opinion "Gow Gaye" is slightly better. Here the soup tastes a bit more artificial. Quality of beef is equally excellent. I also like the texture of the noodle a little more at "Gow Gaye". Given this is much easier to get by MTR, I would return many more times. Recommended Dish(es):

****************** 崩沙腩麵 - I don't normally order 爽腩 as I don't like 'membranes' in higher proportions, but I ordered its cousin 崩沙腩 because it had a balance of everything in 筋.肉.伊,膜, etc! This was quite crunchy overall with a bit of fat and tendons attached, the meat was average in tenderness, but lacked beefy taste. The Soup base however surprised me after trying this again recently. It was quite fatty and oily on the lips, very similar to eating at 九記.. 華姐清湯腩 seems to have changed their Soup flavour gradually to distinguish itself from its neighbouring competition. It used to be nearly the same as the Radish and 八角 based soup in 大利清湯腩 - that being a real 清湯! 華姐's version now is more like a Beef Broth version, but not as strong as 九記's 'fatty, bony & medicinal-herbal' version. Its actually good in its own unique way, at least it doesn't have fat floating on top like 九記 but I personally prefer 九記's soup better if it was just a bit cleaner! 牛腩麵 Two cuts of leaner 牛腩 were given. I forgot to take a photo of this bowl. The noodles had a bit of alkaline taste and were ok-good but felt like a commercial 'pasta' not made badly nor very well! The Briskets / Short-plate meat however were a little bit chewy and stringy rather than soft - although it was acceptable and not as BAD as the ones I got in 九記 a few months ago, which were so tough it was inedible for a dog 腩汁蘿蔔 Using the same Beef Broth Soup as above, unfortunately the soup hasn't penetrated much into the Radish. FORTUNATELY, I enjoy eating radish this natural way! ***************************** OVERALL - I think 華姐清湯腩 is good, gradually becoming better than before, but not great-excellent enough I would recommend it to overseas tourists. I haven't tried any of the 大利清湯腩's all 3 remaining shops lately enough to compare but previously I never really liked 天后大利清湯腩 nor here either, but bear in mind that things change and update, plus the 灣仔 & 天后 shops might just turn out slightly different so don't judge using the Wanchai 大利 only! I mean even different McDonald's or Starbuck outlets have variations! Overall, I was more satisfied with this recent trip to 華姐清湯腩 than a couple of years ago, but that's no guarantee that next time I come here my brisket wouldn't be tough, the soup would be as good, nor that its better or worst than its neighbour until I try them a few more times again for a fair judgment. This Time: Mid-High '4' - Brisket and Soup Mid '3' - Noodles Low '4' - Radish

Went there several times for my family LOVE to go there every now and then! But I still not yet found the "excellent" beef noodles taste that I had from long time ago, still searching for the long lost beef noodles. I like 華姐 for she's really friendly! cc0625 (Non-member) | Saw it won the best 10 restaurant again in march, and since i live just next to it I asked my BF to buy take away on the 9th even he said he tried it b4 and discouraged me to give it a second chance. When he bought back the food, there's three different kind of beef brisket cuz i wanna try different parts but they were all very very fatty.... i also ordered the famous radish'lo bak' but no taste, i had 'ho fan' as well but it's no taste too... only one good thing is the beef are all very soft... it's not very very horrible but i had much better 'ching tong nam' b4 and dun think i will give it a third chance la, try any shop around it will be better... Today i have tried the beef and noodles there. I orderd take away beef noodles and dumpling... weather is so cold.. i have been there waiting at least 15mins with 2 foreigners outside the shop. Those foreigners started getting angry and complaining... I still kept my patience at that moment. Finally, I got my food. In fact, nothing very special.... Soup is full of "master".. beef is just ok. For the price with this noodles, i am not so recommended I can see the restaurant is so crowded... i will not eat and stay there....
