We came on a holiday for the tea buffet. Not a single item was mildly edible. The savory food- dim sum was melty and soggy. The BBQ pork bun was relatively ok. The chicken drumstick was tasteless and oily. BBQ pork bun was not fresh and most of the food was cold. There was also a very innovative but untasty fried chilli cheese ball/ slob thing. They managed to get the sausages right and that was about it. Furthermore they were very stingy with the smoked salmon. They put a thin slice of salmon on top of vegetables and a thick baguette. I has to resort to picking off the salmon from adjacent baguettes piece by piece to get my money's worth of salmon. Moving on to the dessert. The scone was flat, doughy with a hardened outer layer. They did have clotted cream. Waffles tasted like donuts and they sprinkled sugar on top. The rest of the cakes were worse than cheap cakes you can purchase at chain bread shops. There was also no fruit aside from melons meant for the chocolate fountain. We picked off all the strawberry decorations on the cakes as compensation. The cupcake was inedible. It was rock hard and had gaps in the dough and was rubbery like a plastic toy.
Our only consolation was Haagen Dazs ice cream. Overall, service was good. But the food was absolutely terrible for this price. Not recommended. Recommended Dish(es):

I occasionally eat at Prompt as I work in the area and there aren't many restaurants to choose from. The buffet looks like a big spread and is probably good value at about $150. I usually go for something a-la-carte as the buffet is just too much food and I don't want to fall into a food coma when back in the office. I ordered a club sandwich. It's average, comes with a sizeable portion of home fries. The bread is very basic and a little soggy with the mayonaise they spread on it, and there is only a small portion of chicken on it. One doesn't go to the restaurant for the food, but rather to sit outside by the pool. October has the best weather and sitting by the pool is very relaxing without needing to sweat. The staff is always very friendly. Table Wait Time: 0 minute(s)

Asparagus arrive in from Holland and the thickest and in season ones are chosen. Quite creamy and refreshing as a veloute. ~ 7/10 .
.
Nicely done, the Gratinated Hollandaise sauce has a lemon scent to it with a slight sourness, which is how it should be. White asparagus were of the thicker girthed types from Holland and very sweet. With a flowing egg on top to help it all. Great dish. ~ 7/10 .
A bit too peppery today. The prawns were done well. The Risotto was also cooked creamy and al dente, mixed with chunks of asparagus and carrots ~ 6.9/10 .
Our dining companion is from Germany and said this combination together with Hollandaise sauce, is a common food item back at home. The combination of the flavours worked very well indeed. The trick is to eat them all in 1 single bite! Really loved this dish. ~ 8/10 .
.
Available on the weekdays. Haagen Dazs is only available on the weekends. .
Some of the White Asparagus dishes were done quite well and will only last until end of May 2010. I thought some of the dishes were a little over-priced and the buffet is missing a few more attractive items to draw the crowd in! When there's a will, there's a way. The White Asparagus menu in season was quite good in contrast. But their normal buffet items do seem a little lacking in choices for now. . Recommended Dish(es):

I wanted to throw my bf a surprise birthday pool party and after doing research I felt like Prompt was the perfect place to book a poolside table and went ahead with booking 1 room at Le Meridien too. When I initially called, the person who picked up the phone told me if you made a table reservation at the restaurant you could use the pool. Perfect for me, and so I went ahead and invited all my bf's friends. The table was lovely, right by the pool and quite serene. The food took a really long time. When we got up to get in the pool, the pool attendent tells me I'm allowed only 4 ppl with my room reservation. I repeated what Prompt had told me over the phone she said it wasn't possible We asked for the bill so we could retreat to our room to try not to spoil the rest of the evening. When they finally brought it they realised they forgot to charge us for the birthday cake, and had to take it away to reprint again. Another wait. I would love to stay at this hotel again, the ambience is lovely- just wish they'd work on Prompt so I can get some decently timed food and enjoy a lovely evening. Btw, the next afternoon we went back to the pool (just the 2 of us as quota would allow) and ordered a pizza trying to give them another shot. We waited nearly 25mins for the pizza, and there was no one in the restaurant even though they had a huge buffet set up- no one was there. *sigh* its such a shame, could be a really great spot if they get some half decent staff training Recommended Dish(es):

As I was picking a place to celebrate the birthday of my beloved apple (the son of my best friend), I came across a piece of article in Eat Weekly recommending this place - Sunday Brunch with magic show for kids at a cost of $500 each with a 30% discount if using Hang Seng Visa or Hong Kong Bank Visa. Also the price of the kid is free with the companionship of 2 adults. I think it's a good choice and so I made the booking. We arrived at around 12:30 p.m. (though it starts at 11:30 a.m.) and there were not many people. It's an open kitchen and there's a good selection of appetizers (with Alaskan crab legs, oyseters, mussels, sushi, salads, etc. There was a an abudance supply of soft and hard cheese and caviar as well. A dim sum trolley serving the very typical Chinese dim sum was also included. It served roast pork and I was delighted since I don't eat beef. What impressed me was the BBQ corner with very nice tiger prawns (refer to the pciture). The oysters were small but since I do not fancy oysters, the choice was fine with me. They also served sausages, steak and a selection of BBQ food. It was a pity that the special area for magic show was closed for private birthday party. The magician had to go around the tables instead. He performed balloon art for kids and so he was very busy. The boy was a bit restless while he was waiting for the magician and especially when he was full. Forturnately the restaurant is spacious and there's a green meadow outside with a running fountain running through. The setting caught the boy's attention and so he could The boy at least could get out and roamed around. Last but not least, free valet parking was offered for 2 hours free. $60 would be charged for extra hour. At first we planned to park at the other end of Cyberport after 2 hours but it was a bit complicated when we were tied up by the boy. NO extra money was charged when we got the car, except a $20 tips. I was very happy with this place and was quite unprepared when I went through some very negative comments about this restaurant. To be frank, I intend to recommend my friends going there as I think it's a good bargain for such high quality food. Maybe it's worth a try

DO NOT GO (Non-member) | I feel a duty to humanity to write a warning to potential customers. This is actually the 2nd time I've visited this vile place. The first time I paid to eat here was two years ago - I got diarrhea after my first visit and I thought it must be my own fault. I decided I could give it another chance - DO NOT CONSIDER GIVING IT A SINGLE CHANCE. The decor is nice. Its modern styling gives it an upscale viewing and seated experience. You may also have obtained 50%-Off coupons through its massive coupon distribution channel. However, THAT IS THE CATCH. You may have been lured in by the seemingly massive discount as well as pictures of nice decor, giving the idea of a great dining experience, but there is no correlation here. THE FOOD IS INEDIBLE. Not a single dish is as it appears. (Perhaps the salad, but those are just leaves off the cabbage.) You will be disappointed as you take-in each piece of half-luke warm food. For instance, you will find: 1_ The rice for the sushi tastes like it has been cooked in laundry detergent 2_ The lamb chop texture is reminiscent of cardboard. A 1-inch thick layer of fat comes with each serving. 3_ The mussels were marinated in sand and have been laid out for a couple days now 4_ The desserts, where I hoped I would finally have reprieve, are as dry and tasteless as the manner in which the waitress just told you they don't serve water unless you pay extra for their bottled bonaqua. WATER IS NOT SERVED in this 'restaurant' - it is purchased by the bottle. I could not even wash down the acrid taste lingering in my mouth. Frustration ensues.. To be fair, the roast-beef was the only thing edible. My bowel was very upset after having taken in the food. As were my 5 other family members. My brother, who is a self-claimed "buffet-bankruptor" realizes that the very fundamental assumption of a buffet is that the food be edible and sanitized. Utterly disappointed, Your frustrated customer [Warning has been given - those who do not abide will find no reprieve] Recommended Dish(es):

Mrs. Fung (Non-member) | It was the terrible buffet ever. My husband and I went there last Sunday to celebrate my birthday. We chose there because of the romantic scene. However, except for the not-so-amazing landscape, everything in the restaurant sucks. The appendizer was terrible that I tasted "sand" in shrimps. Also, there were limited choices of food and those food weren't attractive at all either. I was a bit impressed by the fruit fountain, but the strawberries were way too sour. I was disappointed of the limited choices of dessert. I should say it ruined our memorable night and I swear I won't go there ever after. I hope there is no more victim like me.
