All the details about Ramen Champion can be found in the other reviews, so I'll just cut to the chase about the ramen itself... Intense flavour and despite being quite heavy, was not as oily as it first appears. The ramen noodles themselves deserve a special mention. They are of the thicker variety, not the typical Hakata style thin noodles, but more like the Shugetsu / tsukemen noodles, dense and chewy. The beauty of this type of noodles is that they pick up a a lot of the soup (i.e. flavours) so as you are slurping away, you really taste that lovely soup in all its glory. The pork is nice and hits all the right notes but without being overly spectacular. The soft boiled egg is a winner, with a luscious flowing yolk just the way it should be. Don't forget to drop in some minced garlic upon pick up of your bowl from the counter, if you are so inclined. It takes the flavours to another garlicky goodness level. All in all a very satisfying bowl, mind that soup if you are one to down them to the last drop, as the heaviness, though not as severe as it appears, does stay with you for a few hours. Came here because the noodles looked different, they were thicker and flatter looking like tagliatelle.
I wish there was one in ENGLISH
When you leave you pass this card to the cashier to pay as if it were a bill.
Although I had already made up my mind to eat at Bario, I still looked around, but it just so happens Bario was the one with staff that could speak normal English too. ★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★ Tonkotsu ramen: The first thing I could smell was black pepper because there was cracked black pepper on top of the beanshoots.
+++When food is authentic but not to their style or taste standards then they will complain, when you finally get something that is authentic people complain as well as it is not localised or adapted to their tastes!!+++ For me the ramen tasted interesting because the shape of it was different. When I collected the ramen, the pork lard was quite strong and I could smell it. I found the pork quite salty. ★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★ Cha Shu don:
There was too much sauce which made the rice too sweet and soggy.
