Went The Coffee Academic last Sunday. A bit crowd on sunday, but wait for around 15 mins,  we got a seat smile The environment made me feel like not being at Hong Kong. HAHA funny me have chosen to drink tea instead of coffee at COFFEE academic. I love the teapot by the way. We ordered the chocolate brownie and when it came, the chocolate on the pan was boiling. The brownie was crispy and tasty! but a bit too sweet. I susprised that the icecream didn't melt quick whi...

The Coffee Academics is an unique coffee shop that's tucked away in a more quiet area of Causeway Bay. After a quick shopping spree, I wanted to find somewhere with good quality coffee and not your typical cup of joe. Coffee Academics popped up in my head since I heard they roast their own coffee beans on the spot. The store has a very interesting set up, with an open balcony sitting on one side, and then community tables in the middle. Then a couple more small tables on the other ...

Stepping into The Coffee Academics in Causeway Bay, you will not believe you're in one of the busiest districts in one of the most populated cities. The outdoor patio area is perfect for a cool summer day, if it weren't for the rain. Also worth mentioning is the service. You may be accustomed to being yelled at by waiters/waitresses for not making up your mind on what you want as soon as you take your seat. Why of course, they want to take your order immediately, serve your foo...

As part of the Habitu group, I wasn't expecting the food here to be spectacular. But with a sister restaurant just upstairs called The Food "Academics" and a minimum spending (think it was around $80 per person...) that more or less insist you order food with your coffee, I didn't expect to be so disappointed with our lunch. We ordered a shrimp and peach salad, lobster bisque, chicken quesadillas. Let me start with the salad -- for the $70-80 I paid, all I got was som...

I read on magazine that this is one of the most promising coffee house established by a local Hong Kong. As a coffee lover, this is great news and I wanted to show support . I had convinced my family to go with me this afternoon... At 3pm Sunday afternoon, people were lining up waiting to be seated. I went in to ask if I should leave my name for the wait... In return I received a cold instructions by a stone-faced waitress that i should just stand at the back. Wow, what an attitude. ...

The place has nice decor. But is that onlone good enough? It was around 3:30 pm when I dropped in for a coffee. The place was half full, not too busy. When I was looking at the menu, I noticed the minimum charge of $70, which meant I had to order something to go with the coffee, or order two coffees, or be stupid and pay $70 for one cup of coffee. I ordered a capaccino and 5 pieces of sweets (macarons and chocolates). Sweets arrived first, followed by the coffee in couple minu...

Hong Kong is a city that never sleep. People stay up late but still feeling energetic the next day. We had a craving for desserts in the midnight but sadly 聰嫂 was closed already. At the time when we were walking towards McDonald, we saw this pretty cafe called Coffee Academies. Services According to the waiter, Coffee Academies is closed at 2: 00 am which is very friendly to night people. Although it is already 1:15 am, the waiter still allowed us to place ou...

We've been to The Coffee Academics twice - first time we sat downstairs and had coffee/breakfast. The experience was okay, although there was a bit of chaos when we were getting seated - during their soft open, there were 2 different entrances, hence the staff couldnt tell which party arrived first. Nevertheless, the restaurant wasn't too packed so the waiting time was short. The coffee there is good, although the food variety was very limited downstairs. The hostess sugge...

We were looking for somewhere for a nice coffee break in Causeway Bay and had noticed this place before so decided to give it a try. It was quite packed and the new decor looked inviting. There was no staff at the door, just a queue and no indication as to how long it was going to take to get a table. However it was the end of lunch and we noticed people were starting to move on so decided to take a chance and wait. There was coffee roasting equipment near the front, so our expectatio...

It was my first time to go there as I was impressed by the outlook of the restaurant. We have to sit outside as inside was full. It was very dusty as a lloyd of car passby and a few people were loading rubbish onto a truck. We then asked the waiter if we can move inside ands he said he will check. But he never came back with an answer until we asked another waitress and the reply was no seat inside. Few minutes later one of the waiter asked one of the lady who came after us to sit in...
