Tomikubo Hand Made Japanese     富久保手打烏冬  

I ordered the kitsune udon. I was very tempted to order one of the set menus that were deliciously displayed. Luckily I told myself I did not need that much food and I wanted to eat dessert a little later. I cannot imagine having udon without the big fried juicy tofu! The udon was chewy and perfect!!! However, when I got my order the soup was not hot enough. There was no steam. It wasn't hot but it was more than warm. The tofu was very big and absorbed a lot of the broth. However, I felt that it was a little on the sweeter side. I really like the tofu that you get in the instant noodle in the red bowl (I hope you know which one I am talking about.

This shop was interesting because it was popular since before.
The kind of the set dish is certainly abundant, it is happy to choose the menu.
However, it was not as delicious as it imagined it.
The taste of 烏冬 is usual and taste of 滑蛋豬扒飯 is usual.
Is it popular why???
However, I thought that the hand-made of 烏冬 was wonderful
The reputation is high though it is a usual taste･･･. The reason is in Live Performance, the amount, and the set.

the udon is different from usual, it's more bouncy and you don't get bored after a whole bowl of it, still good to the last bite. the soup base is good, no msg.

the egg pork katsu rice was pretty bad, cold and tough and tasteless. the takoyaki also bad, hard on the outside, cold and not tasty itself, only the sauce is tasty. it's like eating cardboard w/ sauce.

i'd still go but only for the udon. don't bother w/ the rest.

Compare with the one at Fortress Hill, this shop can be said OK.
But one day, around 3 mths ago, I had lunch at city supper with my colleague.
Both of us alsoo had Udon. But that afternoon, our stomach didn't feel well.

I like to eat Udon so much, but if I can, i like to go to the Fortress Hill one more.
