Scene is beautiful, but during the hot summer, indoor temperature cannot help to raise, part of the sunshine should be good but if it's on the foods or come to customers' eyes will be a little bit trouble Lucky we receive various welcome drinks like cranberry juice, kiwi juice, mocktails etc to keep us calm down Before we start our meal, we meet a western old-friend who is in a group of 50 next to us Our star is a dessert-lover, she have such a self-discipline to hold herself step by step, but when I see over dozens of customers line up around the salad-table, I decide to break the rule & try to eat meats like roast beef, pork & cheese-cake at the very beginning (i.e. it should be a wrong decision Then I try something recommended by friend as well as my favour : pumpkin-soup, salad, salmon, curry-beef, india-cracker, shell-fish,prawn, but the most important to me is DESSERTS fried lamb-chop is one of the disappointed dishes even I try few "hot-dishes" as a whole, as its overdone The mini-glass with variety of mousse, jelly combine as a beautiful presentation, nobody can resisted the temptation Napolian-cake: one of our favour cake remind us about a good memory of other "old friend" when he had his retired party few years before: we order this cake in giant size in order to surprise dozen friends in the banquet; As u can imagine, variety foods that really fill your stomach easily, so you never ever dare to challenge yourself by trying every foods with twice visit within one year Finally, I try the ice-cream, sherbat, pancake & cookies while friends love their waffle as a fullstop with our cup of tea or coffee, what a warm atmosphere + wonderful wednesday afternoon Supplementary Information: 可惜天氣太熱引致室溫上升 vs 品種多, 質素佳 ^^!Recommended Dish(es):

I've always wanted to let Hong Kongers know that The Peninsula's The Lobby afternoon tea, while legendary, is not the best that Hong Kong has to offer (at least in my humble opinion). Neither is it the Mandarin Oriental Clipper Lounge. I imagine I'll get quite a few slanderous reactions but I believe the Intercon Harbourside (formerly The Regent) offers the best tea set. Allow me to explain. First, ambiance. While I'll readily admit that The Lobby can't be beat in terms of pure historical glamour, and the Clipper Lounge can't be surpassed in terms of the wealthy patrons it attracts, for me The Harbourside has managed to maintain its subdued opulence that the hotel established many years ago under the Regent brand. I remember visiting the hotel as a child and marveling at the view, the high ceilings and the rich chocolate coloured tiles and marble, the brass railings, everything blending together into a warm and welcoming environment. That it never overstated itself, never felt stuffy or unapproachable, never transformed into a kitschy 5-star experience made it all the more inviting. I believe the same cannot be said about the other locations mentioned above. Next, the set. The bottom line is most top-notch afternoon tea sets are very similar in terms of quality and quantity. In order to differentiate from each other restaurants get inventive, and while there's nothing wrong with that, I often find that creativity doesn't always equal great food. Call me a traditionalist, but I want my scones rich and impossible to each quickly. I want my canapes and sandwiches to be identifiable and enjoyable. And I want my cakes and pastries to be edible, not decorative. When it comes to satisfying MY requirements, The Harbourside ultimately delivers and that alone is a good enough reason to be a loyal customer. One minor issue; the wheat scone took away from the indulgent experience a little. I don't remember seeing that previously, but I suppose it does reflect the health conscious times we're in nowadays.
Other thoughts. You get free parking for you drivers out there. I would recommend making reservations ahead of time and if it's full you can get the same set upstairs in the Lobby Lounge.

We had workshop in TsimShaTsui. We were arranged to have lunch buffet in Harbourside. As we had reservation, so we did not need to wait! It is an International Buffet Lunch which provides variety of choices. One of the selling point is 「ihealth 」 menu. I am on diet so it is good for me! Bread – series of choices e.g. Danish pastries, whole wheat bread, waffles... Hot dishes- Dim sum, Noodles station serving soup noodles, Japanese Miso Soup, Italian pizza, fried noodles , lamb chop.... I love the dessert bar the most. - Strawberry Blueberry tart - Greentea Red Bean cake - Haagen Daz ice-cream I asked our secretary how much the buffet costs. It is HK$268 + 10% but with 15% discount! According to the selection of food, it is Not bad! Recommended Dish(es):

The selection of food for a buffet was so-so. We had lunch there (weekday). On the day we were there, they had a very limited selection of seafood. So if you are a seafood lover, I wouldn't chance going to Harbourside for lunch (can't comment for dinner) as you will likely be disappointed. The cutting board station was kind-of small, but it had roast beef, so I was happy. Selection of desserts was better than the appetizer/entree sections though. They had macaroons, which was a plus. However, I have a similar complaint as the other posts, in that the restaurant clearly overbooked. Eventhough we made our reservations in advance for 8 people, they seated us at a table the is very obviously for 6. Everytime one of us got up the whole side of the table had to shift their seats so that the person could get out. Felt like a crowded cha chaan teng set-up (with slightly better furniture). View of the harbour is really the only reason to go to this buffet instead of the numerous other ones (with much better food and service vs price) availble in the city. Spending per head: Approximately HKD300+

It was 8.30am of a sunny morning. As diners were mainly hotel guests, the cafe was not full at all. Buffet breakfast was served and variety of choices were huge:- 1. juice and fruits - about 8 kinds of juice, 4 kinds of smoothies and fruit platters 2. bread - from traditional white bread to danish pastries, waffles and french toast, just felt like being in a bakery 3. hot dishes - Chinese dim-sum, fried noodles, steamed tofu, congee, 油炸鬼; Japanese miso soup, pickles, fermented soya beans; Western cold cuts, salad, cheese, porridge, even Italian pizza and Indian naan bread and of course an egg station and a noodle station 4. fresh yogurt - 4 flavours including pineapple, banana, peach and mango If you could not spare any time for an overseas trip, I would recommend treating yourself with an enjoyable hotel breakfast though you are tricking yourself of being on holiday overseas. Yodude (Non-member) | Totally agree with the previous comment. Wanted to try this for a long time, finally went there on my birthday. It was so bad that me and my girl friend were complaining all the way during the dinner. Lobsters were unlimited but the qaulity was Salmon were OK but serve by chef, 2 pieces each time unless you ask for more No need to further comment on other seafood because they are all Hot food: Cheap and 3 stars quallity in a 6 stars hotel Foe Gras were OK but below hotel standard. Dessert: only the water melon and pineapple were exceptable. Others are unbelievable My girl friend ask the hotel to prepare a small birthday cake in advance but you can tell they have put it in the fridge for a long time without cover. There is some fridge taste in the cake. I have no idea why they are charging $650 (inclusive) per head!!! Guarantee won't visit again!!! The services were good but the food were really really Also the environment were disturb by the upstair live band. It was so annoying!! I had lunch buffet there during weekday last week. The restaurant was full and it's a bit overcrowded. There were a few choice of foods and didn't have expensive stuffs, e.g. scallop shushi. It even didn't have common cold plate seafood like crab and shrimp. The roast beef was overcooked for me (you'll like it if you like well done steak). Nevertheless, the service and view were good (we were assinged window sests and had the whole harbour view). So, I don't have any recommendation. It depends what you're looking for, foods, service or environment. Spending per head: Approximately HKD280(Lunch)

Went to this highly praised buffet dinner at INTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL HARBOUR SIDE BEEN VERY SURPRISED! at the:- little choice of food bad selection of meals generally low quality of welcoming drinks (but the coffee was good) IT HAS DEFINITELY been one of the most disappointing dining experience in a highly praised restaurant (second to Disney Hollywood Hotel ) BUT the service was exceptionally good, with their attentive workforce, just not enough to cover up the fact that the food was not as good as we heard. Me and gf lunch buffet here at 3-1-09. Thats our first time lunch buffet here. Not as much sea food as dinner. But other cooked food are same as night time. And they have serive 煎鵝肝 at lunch buffet! Its unexpected! So you will feel more 抵 than dinner buffet. Using $400 coupon will need to pay $500 extra.

Food variety was good... but not much fresh seafood. and sooooo crowded even on tuesday lunch! had to wait in queue for at least 5minutes until u reached the food! i think the restaurant should control their patronage and spread out the tables... at the hotel's reputation and the price i paid, i expected to have a more comfortable ambience. Although, id give them credit for efficiency in refilling food and table service. The chefs at food table were very nice to assist. But, too many people always walking around and a 20 people queue at a buffet table spoiled the whole experience. i think i will try somewhere else next time lu~ not worth second time Spending per head: Approximately HKD240(Lunch)

went for brunch wf family, let me say the good things first before mentioning the ^%&*( thing. good: great variety of food, esp desserts/ good service, always refilling the wines and asking if need more/ fresh seafoods/ high ceiling with sunlight/ mostly westerns and 'well-behave' ppl, ie. everyone line up and being gentlemen and ladies while filling their plates, no 'market' feel... ok, so here's the very disappointing bit! there was hardly any space in between our table and the tables behind/next to us- it's like the table next to us is part of our family and we are in the same table #$%^&*( i asked the manager to see how narrow the gap was. he apologised and said it's becoz there's 'an accident' today... altho his attitude comforts a bit, but i think the response was stupid and did not go further to ask him what did he meant by 'accident'~ why didnt u just tell me it's becoz ur rest. wants to earn more?? i cant tolerate with such an 'accident' for the price i paid~ m i in a 5-star hotel,,, ?!? will never go back again. Disappointed nite (Non-member) | We had reserved the table for more than 1 month, luckily, our seats is next to the seaview. Overall speaking, the choice of food is very limited as a dinner buffer. Moreover, the quality of food cannot not be regarded as good taste. It's not bad but not really good enough esp they charge us 650 (including svc chgs) Be frank, the sashimi is fresh but not really good taste. Other stuff is just meet the medium level not a 6-stars grade loh... Oh, still remember the good memories in Ritz Carlton! Excellent food quality, environment and services.
