Benune (Non-member) | Went to the King's Lodge last night for dinner. Wandering TST looking for somewhere to eat and it looked busy which is usually the sign of a good restaurant. We were seated in the booths along the back near the kitchen. After several minutes someone came by and dropped off menus. After studying them and deciding we sat for at least 5 minutes and then tracked down someone to place the order with. With a clear language barrier, we utilized pointing at names/photos in the menu so there was no misunderstanding. The third item we ordered was the fried rice. Not only did we point at the photo in the menu and repeat it out loud, "Fried Rice", but the waitress repeated it back to us. It was at least 20 minutes before the first dish came. Then shortly after the second came. We ate very slowly. After finishing both dishes (chicken with cashews; broccoli) we waited and waited. Finally a guy walked by and looked at us and then came back later with a small bowl of steamed rice. He was puzzled about it as were we. We sent him away with it. After another few minutes we tracked someone else down and he went and looked in the computer and saw that we had been keyed in as ordering one bowl of steamed rice. We told him no that we had ordered fried rice and he went to change it. It was another 12 minutes before the fried rice came out. It seemed like there was no organization whatsoever. There was no one looking after our table (or the tables nearby that were having the same difficulties). The menus sat on our table the entire time. In addition, there was a hair in one of the bowls. When this was brought to the attention of one of the servers she just sort of smiled and shrugged her shoulders. In addition, the food was bland. Nothing interesting. The spicy dish was just spicy but not flavorful. Overall a poor experience. I would not go back and would encourage others to not go as well. Table Wait Time: 1 minute(s)

Went to have lunch with my wife and little princess on 4/4/08. They have a holiday lunch menu, which is their ordinary menu, with discount and in small portion. May be it was holiday, it was not crowdy. We ordered lots of different dishes as they were in small portion. All of them are great. As my wife said, the food were prepared with "heart". In particular, 霸王小籠包is nearly the best I have in Hong Kong. Most of the waiters and waitresses were great. They kept refilling the tea pot, without asking them to so do. One of them is rather un-attentive though. We ended up spending HK$180. Other Ratings: Taste 4 | Environment 4 | Service 4 | Hygiene 4 | Value for Money 4

chu (Non-member) | i lead 4 friends who came from england to the restaurant this tue night. although the staff are not very good in english, they all tried their best to give recommendations and offer good service. my friends are impressed coz they found lots of chinese staff afraid of talking to foreigners ;so they get the orders as fast as possible and you will never see them again during dining. plus, the food is tasteful and price is reasonable. wow, i tried its noodles and dim sum yesterday afternoon, very delicious and special, price is reasonable and the environment is comfortable. i have no special bad feeling towards its service/waiters. i think this restaurant is similar to "Jade Noodle" in terms of its food and style......So i think it is a recommendable restaurant for ppl working/shopping/living in TST to go!!
