    No a/c  Cries Aug 05, 2011

We went there yesterday for a quick bite to eat, hadn't been here for a very long time and now I remember why. It was a sweltering 32C yesterday and after walking around outside, I hoped to go into a nice air conditioned restaurant for some food. As soon as we sat down, i wanted to leave, but that would be too rude. The a/c was on 25C I guess, but it just wasn't enough.

We ordered a raw beef pho, shrimp salad, tiger prawn summer roll and spring rolls for 2 people. The shrimp salad was really good, very good combination taste of the sweet and salty fish sauce with some small chilies. The spring rolls are a bit small, we're used to the big fat Vietnamese rolls from Vancouver tongue The summer rolls were OK, but I was missing the peanut paste that usually comes with the rolls, instead they brought over a sweet and sour paste. The summer rolls came at the very end of the meal, just like a dessert, weird huh?? It just took toooooooooooo long to get here.

My friend just texted me and said he's been sick since last night and asked me how I was feeling. Thank God I didn't eat the beef pho, I probably would have been in the toilet all night too!!!!!

All in all, it was OK for me but NOT for my friend.

Don't think I'll go back again.

Long wait for food!  May 13, 2009

We wanted something quick and hence thought that noodles at this place would come very fast.
We had a 4 person table, and the other 2 were single customers. One of them came before us, and another came after us.
The first one amongst all 4 of us to get the food was the one who arrived latest. Then the other single customer complained that his has not arrived. After 10 minutes or so, he got his food.
By 1:40 and after checking on the order over 3 times (waitress kept saying it's coming), I said I am cancelling the order if it doesn't arrive in 1 minute!!huffy
Eventually, the food came at 1:45 and of poor quality. The noodles looked chopped up (spoon size noodles) .
In general, I noticed that many other tables were empty, meaning all of them were waiting for food.
It's very ridiculous that there are only 4 staff in the restaurant over lunch time, with two of them behind the open kitchen. Not only that, you can see that only one of the chef is working while the other is standing and not doing anything.

For the quality of food you get, it is definitely not worth the long wait.

    poor service  Sep 02, 2005

i have only been there once but i won't go again. the service is very bad, the restaurant owner only serves the english speaking customers. last time, the quality of food that i got was bad, so I have asked to change but the restaurant owner refused to do so because he thought his food is the most authentic & original ones, so that the taste is different from other vietnamese food. this kind of customer service is not acceptable nowadays.

so far all the dishes i have tried are fantastic, and i go there at least once a week. not only is there different types of fresh herb used in the dishes, the soup base is also not the typical ones you find in other vietnam restaurants. staffs are very friendly and cheerful too.
