My Family went to Han Ga Ram korean Restaurant in causeway bay (in front of times square) for dinner.
We ordered the prime size (Super size) ribs and marinated spicy pork belly and other korean hot pot.
The food was very delicious and the service was nice too.
We decide to order some wine as they have selection of nice wines.
We were quite surprised by the taste of wine ( actually it was very nice with spicy food).
The restaurant was very spacious with nice deco.

We will definitely go back to this restaurant again.

We were the first ones to arrive at 6:30, and were led to a two-person booth near the entrance. The interior was well lit and spacious, with ample spacing between each one.

The Korean waiter kindly showed us what our Groupon deal would consist of, and the food came in quick succession soon after. The banchans were standard fare, no surprises but all were tasty and fresh. Though they say it's unlimited refill, we were told that one of the dishes is a one-off only, and they were reluctant to refill our orders after a second helping. So much for cheap deals.

The chicken and beef were adequate in portion size for the two of us, and the meat was tender even without much fat in them. The bibimbap was pretty average and the tiny dish of noodles was forgettable, but it was edible. The drinks were either plum or pomelo/honey, hot or cold. No frills.

The service was generally acceptable, except for one thing. Right after we finished grilling the meat, the waiter came immediately to hurry us to take the last few pieces off the grill so he can replace it with a new metal plate and cover it up with the wooden lid, cowering over our table when we were trying to have a conversation. Honestly, can it not wait?

It was a little hard to flag them down for tea refill, but since the teapots were right behind me, I helped myself to it.

Han Ga Ram Smile Mar 09, 2012

Every saturday I bring my 2 daughters to piano lessons and we try a new restaurant around Time Square.
We tried Korean Han Ga Ram and we recommend it.
We tooked the 399$ set lunch for 4 persons and felt there would not be enough food, so we added a seafood fried rice and Korean dumplings. Well first there was PLENTY of food with the set alone as there are many additional small side dishes to enjoy. The BBQ beef was delicious, the soup as well and they brought us rice to go along. But we did not regret : the kids ate the dumplings and enjoyed very much, and my wife and I had a feast with the seafood fried rice. The kids want to go back again and enjoy cooking themselves the beef (which was delicious wrapped with the lettuce. Our 8 years old is not always fond of beef...well we could not stop her eating !!
After this, the kids are fan of Korean food and we might be off the hook from the sushi bar !
(and we got free vanilla ice cream for dessert as a great addition to a good service already !)
