Nice place for long chat Just OK May 01, 2011
Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
Birthday dinner is a standard event of our gang of girls, but it is just difficult to match everyone’s timetable. To make sure T-the-birthday-girl will have a good time, I tried to organize a gathering in advance for nearly a month but the crowd still failed to agree upon the date. So I decided to celebrate with her alone (first) and this Italian food lover picked this restaurant.

Having noticed that T was answering a phone call, the thoughtful waitress attentively waited before introducing the daily specials. The menu was chalked on a small blackboard that was carried by the waitresses to every table. Some nice exercise for her biceps...

Back to the food: Bread basket came with butter and fresh tomato sauce. The grissini were tasteless and soft; I could hardly finish one. The baguette and herb bread were okay, but not impressive. The tomato sauce, lack in olive oil, failed to win my favour as well.

As for the daily special, the Fresh Crabmeat and Ocean Prawns with Avocado Salad met my (rather high on that day) expectation in both presentation and freshness, but sadly not taste. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty, but, alas, the flavour of avocado overwhelmed the crabmeat!

Capellini con gamberoni e porcini: angel hair pasta with king prawns and porcini mushroom (sounds definitely better in Italian!). The pasta was rich in garlic flavour and had a slight touch of white wine. I personally think the flavour was a bit too strong. The king prawns were good enough. In all, not particularly memorable.

Desserts: I was quite disappointed by the Apple Tart. The apple slices were too sweet (obviously too much sugar) and too soft; the tart was not crispy; even the ice-cream was just so-so. We had to go to another place for desserts in order to fill up my stomach for sweets.

To the credit of the restaurant, I can’t really remember when the last time we had dined and chatted so relaxingly was. The place was cosy, lighting was soothing, and the staffs were helpful without being disturbing. It was a perfect place for an extended chat, as long as you don’t expect too much from the food. So I don’t recommend this place to gentlemen who wish to impress their would-be girlfriends with food offered here. Anyways, my dear friend, Happy Birthday~!!! xoxo

i am so disappointed with their food! went with my mom for lunch today and we ordered two set lunches with the following dishes:

    starter: salmon grapefruit salads
    soup: crab meat soup
main: 1 tuna steak, 1 beef tenderloin
    dessert: some mouse cake
    tea

the starters were fine but i cannot believe they used a tomato base for the crab meat soup which totally messed up the flavors. The worst of all - neither the tuna steak or tenderloin was fresh - they tasted like stale food! it is completely unacceptable for a restaurant to serve the worst of what they have from overnight(s) on next day's lunch just so they can clear out stock-ups in the kitchen... they really should make sure ingredients are of good quality before they serve to their customers - it's called RESPECT huffy

the best part of lunch was their bread.... crisp on the outside and warm and soft inside.

this is not my first time there but I don't remember their food being so bad... am utterly disappointed and don't think i'll ever go back.... Munch upstairs would have been a much better choice.

Sunday Lunch - value for money Smile Oct 20, 2008
Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
I have been to Papa Razzi for Sunday lunch a few times in the past and I have always liked their food and found the price for their 4-course set lunches reasonable ($75 to $98 plus service charge 10%).

So when I had a big group of 16 people today for lunch in TST, I suggested Papa Razzi. We got there and there were seats! They set up the area quickly for us, and they even set two chairs for my sleeping baby to rest on.

I like their set lunches because there are quite a few appetizers and main courses to choose from. I picked Smoked Salmon Curls as appetizer, Clam Chowder as soup, and Beef Tenderloin topped with nuts and pesto served with rocket leaves salad as main course. The salmon curls were not bad, clam chowder was creamy and rich, and the main course was delicious! Dessert was mango mousse cake - smooth but not too sweet - just right. It went well with my English tea.

Everyone at the table seemed to be happy with what they had ordered. The service wasn't as bad as what was mentioned in some of the comments - although I have to say that I do recall encountering a very rude waitress there before... or was she a manager? Not sure, she acted like one anyway.

Nonetheless, I'll still go back there for Sunday lunch - good food, value for money.

They serve 5 courses lunch and ALL the dishes are yummy...
I always have lunch here and satisfied most of the time, none of their dish disappointed me.
I highlight their salad, soup, and pork chop in orange & butter sauce, definitely a must try!
One special thing is their cappuccino, the cup is huge so you can enjoy a long lunch with friends, if you're not rush to back to office...

I was there with my ex colleague, her bf and his colleagues, altogether 10 ppl...well, this is not the best italian restaurant I have ever tried, what I can say is that the service together with the food is so-la-la....talking about the entree, the mix palette seems to be a bit normal, and the past/pizza and the main course are not speical neither. I heard from the other that the duck breast and the beef are too well-done and for us, who ordered the ravioli and the pizza ... I am not speically impressed. There's only one restaurant which I can remember their pizza and which is Pizza Milano. And I think Tutto Bene's main course is much better.
dessert is so la la....a very ordinary restaurant from my point of view...but they have good wine...we opened a couple of bottles ..not expensive neither, only 220/bottle

The best environment in Knutsford Ter. The porters are quite nice. But the portion of the food is extremely small and the taste of food is just so so, 2 words: nothing special. Dishes aren't not worth its price. But still a nice place for dating.
