Simply love it!!! We feel obliged to write a review though it meant we have to take the trouble registering in openrice. After our lunch at Beirut-LKF, we were in a quest of finding better food with much more reasonable price. Thanks to review in openrice, we dared to try this restaurant. The place is small with bright window overlooking to wanchai busy road & southorn playground. We ordered hummus ($25), taboullah salad ($35), grilled chicken served with yellow rice ($80) and milk curd ($30). Well, we have said we wanted something that is reasonably price and this food is really a hidden gem. The taboullah salad is very fresh, we loved the wheat crunchiness. The grilled chicken is nicely marinated with herbs and spices. Hummus is also perfect blend between the chickpeas and olive oil.
We only spent $185 but the manager was very kind, he gave us 2 chops. Yesh!!! Definitely we'll be back!

After my first visit to this restaurant, and after that great experience i had there i decided to visit again with some other friends as i found that it is really a good place to invite friends to have dinner there.
things were all the same as the first visit, nice service, polite and good temper's staff, fast speed in service, nice environment as the place is cozy and warmly decorated.
but this time we ordered different kinds of food, we ordered 2 different signature dishes among 5 signature dishes they have in the menu.
we ordered the stuffed chicken which was really amazing in texture, taste, and smell. We also ordered the Mediterranean fish fillet, the fish was Salmon fish marinated with a very special marination which gives a very nice smell and taste.
one of the things we all loved a lot was the rice, when we asked the staff there about the rice they told us that this is rice with nuts and we knew then that it has nuts, raisin, and it was cooked using the gee and the special imported herbs.
this time we ordered Fattoush as salad, and Baba Ghanog which comes with bread, when we finished the bread we wanted to order some more bread so we asked about the price of it and we found that it is free and we can order bread as much as we want to finish our Baba Ganog, this behaviour gave us really a very good feeling towered the policy and management of this restaurant, it makes u feel that u r special and that they care about their customers not only money.
my friends were so happy having dinner there and they were so satisfied and happy, the quantity was more than enough for them also.
as a dessert we had apple pie and milk curd which was also something very special.
of course we enjoy our Shisha also with some Arabic black tea one with mint and another with cardamon.
finally and before we leave, we got the stamps on the name card and the staff told us that we will get the VIP card after 10 stamps in which we can get 10% discount every time. Also the staff told us about the new promotions they have such as special promotions every Sunday for special set and also some promotions during lunch as well and they suggested us to contact them before we go for more details and information about the promotions and timings.
i will consider this restaurant as my first choice every time i have guests or gatherings and will try them soon for lunch.
i really recommend all of u to try it, u will never regret I believe.

i was not expecting that there is a restaurant in such place.
it is not easy to find it as it is on the 11th floor of one building, but when i get in i felt as if it is private place, it is not big and the decoration and environment makes you feel as if you are at your home.
the staff is very nice, the service is perfect, the food is so delicious.
the food in this restaurant is all Arabic style food, the taste is exactly same as it is in the middle east.
i suggest everyone reads this review to pay a visit to this restaurant.
also i suggest you to call before you go because the restaurant is almost full all the time so better to make a reservation before going there.
i found that the place is so suitable for gatherings and when i asked the staff there they told me that you can book the whole restaurant for dinner if you are over 16 people up to 28 people.

I am a regular lunchtime diner at this easy-to-find eatery The food is excellent and fresh and always buzzing.
Lunchtimes have the best value meals - either a 3-course $70 set or a set meal for $54 for a drink & special of the day.
For appetizers, I suggest babaghanoush, muttabul or hummus - the best I've tasted in HK.
For soups, mushroom or chicken.
For the main, anything! The beef is excellent & succulent as is the lamb.
Don't forget your loyalty card where you can collect 10 stamps to earn a lifetime 10% discount!

Just as I am writing this review, there are new dishes on the menu which I havent tried yet.

Anyway ordered my favourite starters which you would expect to see in an Arabic restaurant.

I have previously tried them at Habibi in central and its supermarket counter at Gourmet.

Tabouleh:
This is a finely chopped salad containing wheat, tomato, cucumber, parsley, mint, onion and garlic seasoned with olive oil, lemon juice and salt.
The salad is so finely chopped that you can just eat with a spoon.
I love the colours in this dish, green with hints of grain and tomato.
It is very refreshing to start the meal with, however the wheat could be softer.☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★
Mutabal:
This is pureed Egg plant mixed with lemon juice.
Again another one of my favourites that go nicely with pita bread.☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★

We came across this restaurant by chance actually. There was a girl handing out leaflets on the street
below where the restaurant is situated. It's not really in a place which you would think of going to
because it's so out of the way and if there wasn't anyone handing out the leaflets you wouldn't even
know it existed. I only wanted to give this place a try as I've never really tried Arabic Halal food before.

We walked up a flight of stairs to be greeted by a old security guard who asked us where we were going.
Then waited for the lift to take us up to the top floor. The place is small with about 10 to 12 tables and on each
table they had a Shisha pipe which you could smoke for a $100. The view from the window looks over Wan Chai's
basketball court.

We sat down and looked over the menu, there's also lots of food pictures stuck up on the walls too, which is great!
As I like looking at photo's rather than words. Spoilt for choice! as everything looked so yummy. The waiter was
very friendly, he saw that we couldn't make our minds up, so came over to give us a helping hand and made some
suggestion. In the end we ordered, 'The Mixed Grill with garlic' and 'The Chicken Sharwarma'. The Chicken was quite nice. The rice was very different to tastes in which I usually eat. I can't say
I loved it or hated it. It's looked very appealing, with the meat grilled on the skewer. There was one Sheesh Kebab, a lamb rack,
a beef skewer decorated with peppers and a chicken skewer. I personally thought the meat tasted fine.
There were two sauces, one which I presumed was the garlic sauce. But tasted nothing like garlic though.
It was more like thousand Island sauce and sour cream and chives. Anyhow it complimented with the meats fine.
Again the rice which came with the dish had a very strong taste to it. It was described as a special rice with nuts in it.
If I was to choose from the rice that came with the chicken and the one in this dish. I would go for the chicken one.
However it's definitely an acquired taste. I personally wouldn't like to eat that rice again though.

Overall, it was interesting to try, even though it wasn't a 100% to my liking.
If I had space, I would have really liked to of tried their apple crumble. It look super tasty in the photos.

]I had received a flyer about this restaurant this week, I never tried Arabic Cuisine and don't know what it is. I come by myself at Sat. lunch time to explore on this cuisine.

The environment was small, only have few tables and maximum for around 30 persons. It was quite and not many customers this afternoon. Don't be afraid you don't know how to order, the wall have some photos that introduced their cuisine with English and Chinese wordings. Each table decorated with a authentic table cloth and have a Hookah Pipes. The background music was also match with this theme.

The staff was very friendly and attentive, he introduced me about what was Arabic Cuisine and I decided to take a seat and tried. He presented the menu card and pen and I can write over this to order.

I ordered a Hummus and Mutton cubes with vegetables and Arabic rice. Hummus was served with warm pita bread. It is made with chickpeas, sesame paste and olive oil. It was very tasty and creamy in texture. Mutton cubes with vegetables was full of aroma of spices. The mutton was very tender and not dry. The Arabic rice was cooked with the fat of mutton but I don't think it was greasy. As I had my refill on pita bread to finish the Hummus. I found I was very full and satisfied after this meal. The meal was good if you are looking for something new and it wasn't costly. It is worth a try.

The Hookah Pipes was not only for decoration and also could offer for water smoking at night, but I'm not interested in this. I will be back next time for dessert or dinner.

I was searching for new restaurants in WanChai on OpenRice and noticed this restaurant!

It reminded me of OhFood at Fortress Hill. I have been a fan of Arabic food since trying out Sham Fast Food before it refurbished into Sham Dining, then lastly into OhFood.
I tried to go to Oh Food, but when I got there it wasnt open.
I really like their food and enviroment, Sham Fast Food was similar to the food at Uni. I am not sure if they still cater for universities in Hong Kong because I remember they had a branch at some university, but I havent tried it.

It was really cool because it turned out to the same group and now the location is even more better, there is no need to walk up the steep road at Fortress Hill.
It is located in a commercial building which I rarely go for food, but this is an exception, same as Ziafat and if your going for curries at Chung King mansion.
Anyway, the decor was a mix of Sham dining and Oh Food. Flashy young logo with formal fixtures.The owner of this places speaks really good English and he was probably educated in the US because of the logo design and the really yummy scrummy food such as fried chicken served here.

The menu was A3 menu laminated, and it was really environmentally friendly because they provide you with markers to tick your orders and the ink is wipeable.The set costs $75 and includes a a choice of appetizer, soup, main dish or noodles, and drink.

The choice appetizers and soup are:
Hummus
Arabic salad
Brown pea garlic salad
Coleslaw salad
Egg salad
Mushroom cream soup
Egg corn soup
Vermicelli and vegetable

For the main dishes they are served with choice of Arabic rice, Beryani rice or fries.

Sliced mutton with cheese and mushroom

Minestrone soup
Although it may not be Arabic food, but it contained cumin and some other spices which made it really really nice.
It even tastes better than the fake minestrone soups served in Chinese restaurants that do not even contain noodles.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Hummus
This was not as thick as I would have liked.
There was more sesame in it than chickpeas which made it runnier.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Milk curd pudding
This is similar to the Chinese double boiled milk except that it was too sweet.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
TAKEOUT - Apple pie
This looked more like an apple crumble
It was quite flourly and sweet.
The packaging was really cute, they have got clear plastic stickers with their logo which they have stuck on the lid of the apple pie box and even on the white vest take-out bag ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Chicken sheesh taouk with Beryani rice:
The chicken was tender with lots of herbs.
The white gravy on the chicken was a bonus, it tasted good with or without.
The rice was soft and fluffy just like the Indian type long and slender.
The taste of the beryani rice was aromatic but not spicy.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Fries
This was my favourite since Sham, they are the shoestring type with lots and lots of lovely spices on top.There was THOOM sauce too which is fluffy garlic sauce, however the one here tastes slightly different to the one at Sham.

For the drinks I wish they had Apricot juice like before, but the current selection is ok.
The coffee was a bit strong.
Apart from the above items they also serve pastas and sandwiches!!

Shrimp pasta, Chicken pasta, Vegetable pasta, Beef steak sandwich, Sliced mutton sandwich, Chicken Sheesh Taook sandwich, Sliced chicken sandwich, Hummus sandwich and egg sandwich.

Ever since traveling to the Middle East I've been looking for authentic, reasonably-priced arabic food. When this place opened a few weeks ago I jumped on the chance to try it and was not let down. Great hummus, great lamb and the Syrian guys who run the place are very friendly. They even suggested how I could improve my own hummus recipe when I told them how I made it at home.

After leaving I realised in my excitement that I forgot to take any photos - a good excuse to go back and eat there again!
