Another lovely cow! Smile May 03, 2011

Both holly cow and Yo Mama use a lovely cow in their logo to attract customers. That day was school holiday,I went to TST to visit Holly Cow.

The environment there is comfortable and there are nice seats for customers to enjoy their froyo.
I ordered regular cup with Lychee as toppings.Although it is regular size, there were quite a lot of froyo and toppings! The lychee were cut in small slices and were very fresh! When I tasted the lychee, they were naturally sweet!
For the froyo,it was icy and sour enough. It is creamy at the same time, but will not cover the sour taste of froyo.

In conclusion, the froyo was satisfactory and the service was good!I visited it again last week,in its new Tsuen Wan branch.

Read on Holly Cow's facebook that new products are now in store to welcome the cold! Had dinner nearby, therefore paid a convenient trip there. It was still open at 1130pm. shocked and customers filed in and out. boy, people do enjoy their night life smile

Vowed to try the new pancakes, had high expectations coz Holly Cow's froyo is so good. It was clever of them to come up with the idea of pancakes and coffee coz during winter time people might prefer having something hot instead? Not sure. But honestly the patrons (while we were there) purchased Froyo instead of coffee and pancakes. Need to do more promotion, holly cow!

    Food:
chopstick Strawberry and froyo on pancakes with mixed berry sauce $34
    Strawberries and froyo on pancakes
    Strawberries and froyo on pancakes

They look absolutely delightful. Tempting presentation and I honestly prefer froyo over cream.shocked Surprisingly so! The pancakes were average, nothing special about them in terms of texture and flavour - nothing bad about them either - sadly they weren't able to distinguish themselves from all other pancakes in this respect. Perhaps chocolate hotcakes would be nice.

But I must say that the toppings were excellent. The strawberries weren't just diced and served - there was some kind of syrup to hold it together..not sure what they did to it but they tasted nice. Froyo with pancakes is great idea - merger of different sensations in the mouth. And there was just about enough froyo to last me through two pancakes. The Mixed berry sauce was sour, a bit too sour alone, but it helped cut the sweetness of the froyo. So I suggest you eat all 4 things together - a bit of sauce, some froyo, and a few cubes of strawberry. smile Good job, moo!

chopstick Nata de coco and aloe original yoghurt $32
Aloe and nata de coco original
Aloe and nata de coco original

J was very reluctant to let me try his because he liked it too much -_-. Dude. I only managed a half-spoonful - lychee flavored nata de coco with froyo is really nice!! Next time i'm going for my favorite wheat germ froyo plus nata de coco or lychee. Tasty as always. Quality control is important.

    Conclusion:
Still waiting for Holly Cow to introduce some groundbreaking topping, first of its kind in HK. Waiting in eager anticipation! smile

delicious froyo! Smile Dec 08, 2010
Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook

among all the froyo that i've tried
    this is the best
it's neither too sweet nor too sour...totally love the exact balance
it also didn't melt too quickly...like in some froyo shops
the froyo was quite milky and creamy as well
    definitely my all time favourite
i ordered the original flavour with mango strawberry and granula as toppings
and my frd orderd oringal flavour too with strawberry and oatmeal
they were pretty genersous with the toppings as well
    the fruits was really fresh!
    high recommended
unfortunately it's a bit faraway from my home
otherwise i would come here everyday for a nice cup of froyo!

    Date: Saturaday 9th Oct 2010 10pm

Ordered: Regular size with coco pops - 28 hk dollars with 1 free topping

Taste: Average size, but the Large cup seems really big. Was not expecting too much from it as it did not look too fancy. But it was surprisingly good. It was ice cold but smooth as milk. This is the only Froyo I have tasted that really makes me think I am eating ice cream. The texture is so alike, so rich and creamy but without the ice cream milkiness but with the sour taste. I could eat it without any toppings.
There weren't too many toppings choose from, so I chose Coco pops. There was decent amunt and I like how there arent just toppings on top but on bottom of the cup too. So I had toppings with yogurt almost every spoon I had

Another good thing is, as it was ice cold, I was eating it while walking to Hung Hom, it has stil not melted. I hate drinking liquid yogurt.

Conclusion: I quite like Holly Cow although it has nearly same name as ' Holy cow' but ther shop is alot bigger with alot of seats (10-12?) so you can sit down and enjoy.
Service was so so, not much smiles and they all seem too busy to deal with you. But fairly fast. Although there was way too much people standing around I did not know where the end of line was

Froyo but not too frozen Just OK Aug 09, 2010
Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
Situated in the East of TST, not a crowded place with shoppers and tourists as in Harbour City or Nathan Road – a good venue after dinner, have a decent walk along the Harbour and look for some quiet place to sit and enjoy

Holly cow is located near the footbridge to Hung Hom Railway station, while surrounded by the commercial towers in east TST. Some diners had good commentaries for this shop and I came to this shop with some reasonable expectation.

The shop was quite spacious and there are around 12 seats in the shop. Blue and white as its theme colours, the colourful menu becomes the centre of attention. There were 20 types of toppings:-
Non-fruits:- Aloe, Almonds, Coco Jelly, CoCo pop, Marshmallows, Oreos, Wheat Germs, Raisin, Granola
Fruits:- Banana, Blueberries, Dragon Fruit, Kiwi, Lychee, Longan, Mango, Pineapple, Strawberry, Grapefruit

Lured by the variety of toppings available – we had some difficulty in selecting which to mix in our original flavour yoghurt! We requested to try the original flavour cos I wanna know whether it is sour / milky. Ended up without trying the mango / mix flavour, we picked Large Size Original + CoCo pops + strawberries for our first yoghurt in this shop. Large Size is fit to share for two, $32,the size is slightly larger than a medium size soft drink of Mc Donalds, it’s a bit more than the medium size of Yomama, with 2 free toppings included. (Large: $32, Small: $28)

Its texture is 80% the same as soft ice-cream available in convenient stores, very easy to melt because when we finished half way, the other half melted quickly. The toppings are placed in the mid-layer of yoghurt, what a pity that it melted quickly. It adds value when it is a bit more “frozen”.

Compared with the Froyo shops I’ve been to, personally I like slightly sour yoghurt, Holly Cow is good one, but still, it melts in 15 minutes and it’s unacceptable. It worths a try but Yomama/ Milky Cow still top my list. Yoghurtime is for icy yoghurt lovers, Hollycow is the reverse.

There were still vacant seats available at 9-ish on this Sunday night, probably a nice place for buddies to gather, but definitely not a must-try for icy Frozen Yoghurt.

I'm from California and I've been looking for a place that's similar to the addictive taste of Pinkberry or Red Mango's yogurt here in HK for a long time, and I've finally found it! I had their one-topping frozen yogurt offering and it was amazing! It's got that signature sweet and tangy taste that's hard to find in a yogurt in HK. If there was one thing that can be improved upon, it would be the creaminess. Other than that, treat yourself out to their frozen yogurt with choice of topping. I'm coming back as often as I possibly can! [By the way, the unique sweet and tangy flavor is very reminiscent to traditional Vietnamese yogurt]
