We went to Roll a two weeks ago and the yogurt was terrible. There were ice pieces in the yogurt and it did not taste milky nor yogurt-ly enough. Definitely not worth the price. And to think that we went all the way from Sai Kung to TST....what a disappointment! The yogurt they offered at first was much better! Walking passed this bakery shop called 'Roll', was attracted by the shop design as it is all in pink. Pretty unique and different, they are mainly selling yogurt ,cookies, macarons and rolls. All kind of swiss rolls, there are many color and flavors, so we gave it a try and ordered four mini rolls ($10 each) with a 66% chocolate and a green tea latte ($35 each). The swiss rolls are outstanding, because it is full of flavor and you will never find those flavor anywhere else. It gives you the sense of taste which is surprising with the flavor. We tried the maple syrup, black sesame, blueberry lemon cream cheese and valrhona crispy chocolate mini rolls, I think the black sesame was very good. They have other flavors like Okinawa brown sugar strawberry green tea mochi caramel banana mango pudding The drinks: Green Tea Latte is good. Chocolate is very strong even I ordered only 66% coca (The lowest).

Previously tried their delicious rolls and macaroons, now I am back for Froyo. There is strawberry and original froyo served there, but everytime I went it was strawberry. Finally went on a day when the original was served. The Froyo was thick, just like soft serve, except the taste is lighter and not as sweet as ice-cream. There was some yoghurt taste to it, but not as tarty as Yogurtime and Crumbs. They had new flavours to their macaroons, which were previously not available such as Baileys and white peach, so I tried the Baileys. It was nice but I couldn’t taste any Baileys or any bitterness to it. Previous Review: Keep the rolls rolling: http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/commentdetail.htm?commentid=2071760

I went to Roll twice but both times I went there for froyo only becoz its froyo and brownies were magnificent! It was Saturday when I went there. It provided only strawberry flavour. But it had free green tea mochi as special offer if you ordered a large cup.So I chose brownies ,mangoes.
After I hit the ROLL,I really HIT THE ROAD to continue preparing my exam. So,yeah!Let's HIT THE ROLL/ROAD! Recommended Dish(es):

知道她們星期六有特別的味道........ i went and tried a large size with three toppings.......... two kinds of berries are quite good while strawberry is really sour but refreshing......... green tea mochi of course still my favourite.......... sugar free strawberry flavor froyo沒想像中的甜,而且有滿滿的果香......... froyo好柔軟creamy! but this is what i don't satisfied....... it's really changed........ no more like froyo but like milky ice cream in crumbs and panda house........ i don't like them because as ice cream they are not as cheap as and as tasty as 果_茶屋........ so why do i need to visit them for the worse taste and wasting more money? this fruity froyo although already more sour than those shops above........ but really changed........ and is change to bad......... ai......... actually berrygood, yogurtime and yoppi also like that.......... central shops are much sour and that's what real froyo is........... my favourite is no change wan chai yo mama and central berrygood...........

I have walked passed Roll a few times already and have yet to try it. Finally, I realised my friend was really into frozen yoghurt as well so after dinner we went to try it. If I wasn't so full from dinner I would have tried their swiss rolls too as there are a lot of good feedback from other fellow members. Anyways, we both ordered a froyo each with one topping ($26). My friend added bluberry and I added oreo. I originally wanted the mochi topping (due to reading other members' recommendations for it) but unfortunately, they were sold out of it already. Next time next time.
The texture of Roll's frozen yoghurt was much harder than the one I have tried from Tuttimelon which was softer and more like a soft serve type of yoghurt. I actually like Roll's texture more than Tuttimelon and it wouldn't melt as fast. Roll's froyo also tasted a lot like the greek yoghurt I used to have back in Aus. I really like the greek yoghurt taste because it leans towards sour and I love sour things as well. But now I regret not adding an extra topping for it - blueberries, just like my friend because I think this froyo suits fruit really well. But it's still not bad with orea chippings, but however for this, I prefer the Tuttimelon actual oreo cookie chips rather than crumbed chippings. Nevertheless I will definately be back here for more and to test out the mochi topping as recommended by fellow members Recommended Dish(es):

Date: Weds 13th Oct 2010 10.45pm Ordered: Small tub with 1 free toppings (coco pops) Taste: I don't think i have ever tasted such a creamy rich Froyo. I could not believe it is Frozen yogurt! Frozen yogurt should be quite light and sour. But Roll's froyo was so creamy. The texture is like cream cheese with some double cream. Taste was not sour at all. It was just very creamy taste. It really felt like eating creamy ice cream. if you can imagine eating soften cream cheese. but lovely and white. It was not as cold as other froyo i ahve tasted, it melted quite quick maybe because from its soft creamy texture. i liked how the coco pops goes with the froyo. it was like having full fat milk with coco pops, while the chocolate melts into the cream. it is rather unique taste. Service: I have to mention the service. it was SUPERB!!! It was quite late when i decided to walk past. n usually at this time of the night, everybody is rushing to go home so hardly want to give you service. but when i walked in the girl behind the counter greeted me with a big smile on her face. When i was ordering she was very patience and evenw hen i changed my mind on my topping she still had that massive grin. she was very cheerfula nd polite even after i paid and hanged around the shop taking pictures. then when i walked out door, she shouted out cheerfully 'Thank you!" I love her attitude. Great customer service which makes me wana come in just for her service. thanks for that girl!

Every time when i go into sweet store, I would look for the original taste of sweet first. Since you can in fact really taste it. I ordered the Vanilla Roll.. Yes this the really good in fact, but i find it ppl rarely order the original taste in H.K. Especially my friends suggested me a new way of eating this roll. Having espresso with it. SUPER DELICIOUS. It just melt the taste in your mouth !

After dinner we went to Roll for something sweet. A lot of their swiss roll cakes had run out, so we turned to frozen yogurt. Between us three we had a large ($32) and a regular ($26), plus an earl grey tea flavoured macaroon for me! For the large, I asked for strawberries + green tea mochi, and for the regular, my aunt asked for mangoes. The girl mixed up our orders and put the mangoes on the large and the strawberries on the regular. Also as they had ran out of diced mangoes, she wasn’t able to rectify her mistake and was very apologetic so we told her to forget it. Roll’s frozen yogurt base was really disappointing. It was extremely light, melted really quickly and I felt a bit like I was eating air. The base could’ve been tarter and sweeter in my opinion as well – it was just plain milky…. The toppings didn’t fare much better. Whilst the fruits were fresh, she could’ve been more generous. The green tea mochi didn’t taste like green tea at all, just your standard plain mochi – not that it was bad, but why not just label it green mochi? [p.s. my brother observed quickly after she handed us our yogurts that the serving size of the yogurt in the large and regular was really similar - I looked and noticed the same!] 3/10 Macaroons are truly for people with a sweet tooth. Whilst macaroons are meant to be sweet (I’ve never heard of such thing as a low-sugar meringue), they shouldn’t be sickly sweet (as a whole) either. My earl grey macaroon was quite nice. Better than LGB’s sickly sweet version, as the dark chocolate ganache centre was bitter-sweet enough to counter the sweet and crispy macaroon shell. It also had a strong aroma of earl grey… yumm =). 7/10 Whilst I won’t be back for frozen yogurt, I may well give their ever-popular swiss rolls and other macaroons a try. Went to this place finally after hearing it for a while. The rolls are claimed as 'freshly made", Japanese style / way. Big rolls charge HKD26 and small pieces charg HKD10 each. We tried Blueberry and Leomon Cream Cheese, Maple Syrup and Walnut and Blace Sesame ones. All okay. We would not say 'spectacular'. Quite expensive for their pricing. They are now also serving Yogurt Icecream, charging HKD26 a bowl.

I tried a mini strawberry roll. It's nice that they use real strawberries in their rolls, but that's probably the only justification for charging $10 for a tiny little piece of swiss roll. By tiny, I mean it only takes two bites to eat the roll. The larger pieces are $26 and they are the same size as the individual swiss rolls from Maxim's. My cousin was quite pleased with her black sesame roll though (because she likes black sesame...), so not sure if that's saying much. There are some stools for you to eat in and the price is the same as take away. This place is worth trying for the novelty factor, but that's about it.
