    20 people.

    Drinks quick.

Food orders all done to perfection.

    Repeat drinks all quick.

    Service great - as always.

Had the pie - beef, beer and mushroom. The best pie thus far in Hong Kong. Really good and filling....one tiny issue - not enough chips and why would a UK style pub have smoked baked beans?

    Chilli - all good.

Fish fingers - fantastic - authentic fish fingers.

Others had no complaints that I know of and the boss man recommended good birthday shots for the birthday boy.

Really good place to go for lunch and the beer was all good as always.

Sunday lunch carvery - great pea soup. Really nice and creamy and 'pea-y'. Beef was cooked perfectly, still bleeding, and the veg were all freshly cooked and almost crunchy which is how they should be. Only qualm - for the price, it wasn't as big as I might have expected. However, I left full. Stella was still as Stella should be and the cider was definitely as it said on the label - 'Scrumpy'.

Kedgeree - disappointing as there was too much coriander in it which overpowered it, and, honestly, it wasn't as fishy as maybe we are used to in the UK. However, all was eaten without too many complaints. Bloody Mary was good.

Beefburger - the first few bites didn't reflect the remainder of the burger which went down really well. Chips were awesome.

Chicken sandwich - as before. Eaten without complaint and a clean plate at the end of it although the eater said she probably wouldn't have it again.

Bacon and egg baguette - cooked to perfection with lots of good bacon which is always good. Eggs were cooked to perfection. Slightly bland, but good nonetheless. Another clean plate.

    Coffee good, fresh and hot.

Staff were really good and friendly.

Was empty when we arrived but was glad to see it filled up prior to our departure.

Again - can't recommend this place enough. Good beer, great food and really nice staff.

The goal posts made my friend's day.....

Stella tasted like Stella should and not like it had been sat in the pipes for hours like lots of other pubs. Sadly couldn't stay and drink all afternoon as otherwise they would have been ordering more kegs.

Chicken sandwich and chips. Big portion, nice piece of chicken and the sandwich was incredibly thick with cheese, tomato and lettuce and nice bacon. Chips were cooked well and were light and fluffy inside.

Chilli beef with rice. Huge bowl and really spicy which kept my 'spice picky' wife happy. She couldn't finish it having started incredibly hungry. really nice and deep flavour and topped with cheese and sour cream. Will definitely have it again.

Coffee was good, hot and strong.

Really nice environment, great selection of beers both on tap, in cans and in bottles.

Staff were really friendly and the manager type person I spoke with was very user friendly and was able to answer the questions posed to him, albeit only regarding procuring scampi and chips.

Nice salt and pepper shakers too - yours if you want to purchase - we did.

All in all a great place to eat and several hours later I am still feeling pleasantly full. Would definitely recommend it and will definitely be going back.

Didn't book table, very lucky was very busy around 8:30 . got a booth seat

It was a French tennis finale.lets talk about food.
    Ordered :

Tomato . tapenade & goat cheese tart with rocket salad : sounds very good . this is my main course and I don't like it. so my command is not good , so I got my friend to try and he said is really good, and have to put the cheese+ tomato = together into my mouth to get the taste, anyway I m not a fan of goat cheese
friend ordered : home made burger with chips + white wine
    he said tasty good.

To be honest I don't; like the environment. people keep standing next to my booth or leading against , is very very annoying , service is wonderful. they make sure you got attention

I also got a dessert -steamed gingerbread pudding with butterscotch sauce. : very strong ginger taste , very good , service in hot with cold ice cream on top

Excelant beer and pies. Smile Mar 14, 2011

Went for Sunday lunch in this busy and spacious bar, and were seated in a comfortable booth.

This is beer lovers paradise with a beer menu running to five+ pages. I had a bottle of the rich Black Sheep ($50) to go with the steak and kidney pies.

One came with buttery mash potato, the other with crisp thick cut chips, both with boston beans and extra gravy on the side.

The pies contained a generous helping of meat in a rich gravy contained in crisp shortcrust pastry. This is as good as it gets in HK!

Two pies, beer and a coke came to $280. No service charge is added in this bar. Excelant value, will return soon.

I've been coming to The Globe for drinks before they moved to this new premise - It's one of the first few places in Hong Kong where they go Magners (it's an Irish Cider) before it started popping up everywhere in HK.

Since they moved to the new place, I've been going there every now and then, but only for brunch and drinks. Food -- at least over at brunch -- is always very good. Usually we have at least 10 people doing brunch together, and the nice big place they got comes in very handy.

I usually order the Beef, beer and mushrooms pie: love pies in general but the beer is also a good combination with it. They make the best Bloody Mary in HK.

I also like how they have a pretty healthy selections of beer and drinks.

Staff are usually very friendly to us and accommodating to our numerous requests.
