My friends and I went for dinner. We order steak, pasta, risotto and salad. To be honest, I think the food there is OK. The food is a lot better than many other restaurants in Hong Kong. The price is was way lower than I expected for the food we got. Probably for this reason, the low price is probably the compensation for the outrageously ridiculous service they have there.

We ordered a salad. We asked if we can add fresh salad mushroom to the salad. They told us they will charge us an extra $50 for the mushroom. I was already like “what the…” for the extra $50 when the entire salad itself was about $100. Nonetheless, we said ok since our friend really wanted the mushroom.

When the salad and mushroom came, the salad was on one plate and the mushroom was served on another little bowl. It turned out they have misunderstood what is “fresh mushroom”. They gave us sautéed mushroom instead. So, we told the waitress that wasn’t what we order and asked if we could have fresh/raw salad mushroom instead. The waitress spoke in her broken English and we couldn’t understand what she said. Anyways, another waiter came and handled the case and this crazy guy is absolutely the most impolite, unprofessional waiter I have ever seen! Any staff working at some street stalls would be better than him. He came to us and spoke in a very intimidating and demanding tone that that is what we ordered and they didn’t do anything wrong. We explained to him that it wasn’t what we ordered and just ask him to take the sautéed mushroom away. We were fed up with his attitude, but still tried to hold our temper and told him we will pay the $50 but just take the mushroom away.

Then back and forth the crazy man came back to our table 3 times telling us that it’s the mushroom we ordered and he took the menu and shoved it in our faces saying that their mushroom is famous whatsoever. At one point, he took out a bowl of raw uncooked mushrooms (the type not meant for salad) and again shoved it in our face and then put it on our table and said something like, “Is this what you want? Then I give you what you want!” We were still trying to hold our anger and ask him to take it away and to leave us alone and we will pay for that freaking $50 mushroom that we don’t ever want to see again! However, he won’t give up and again telling us, “Is this what you want? Then I give you what you want!” and wrote the words “RAW RAW” our on table with his pen, as if we are the one with broken English and can’t understand a word as simple as “raw”. At this point, we got really REALLY angry and just told him to go away and leave us the hell alone!

I don’t care how famous or how wonderful or how heavenly delicious their food is. If they have that kind of service, I don’t think people would go even if they are a Michelin 3 star restaurant. At last I, for sure, will NEVER go to this restaurant or any Al Dente restaurants EVER AGAIN!

This was the worst dining experience I've had in my entire life.

It was C's birthday and our group of 12 wanted to throw her a nice birthday dinner. We ended up ordering only a few dishes and left with 12 almost-empty stomachs. We left the restaurant at 8:30pm - without a reservation elsewhere and not knowing where to go. But we just HAD to leave because staying there for one more second would make us lose ALL our appetite. (We finally had a wonderful time at a nearby restaurant but that's another story.)

Let's talk about the food at Al Dente. We ordered 3 appetizers:

Caprese - It was decent. The tomatoes were fresh.
Fried Calamari - It wasn't bad. The batter could be thinner.
Beef Calamari - It was the worst out of the three. The beef was not of top quality and there was not enough olive oil so the dish was rather dry.

Overall, the food wasn't bad, but the service was of the lowest rate - much much worse than the worst cha chaan teng and dai pai dong that one can think of. No, I correct myself - it cannot even be classified as "service". We were insulted and treated with NO respect at all.

Before we left, I asked the manager, "May I have your business card?" He replied, "I don't have one." After a minute or so, he gave me the card of the restaurant. Again, I politely asked, "May I have one with your name on it?" He then replied - bluntly, "I don't have a name."

Yes, he said that.

But he finally had to give me his card. And here it is:If anyone wants OK Italian food at OK price and at the same time, feels like being mistreated - this is the perfect place to go to.

My friend have been there before so we choose there again....There are so small not some ppl said so comfortable...We order 5 of food... The most better is the pizza I Reil recommend that, but another food I think they can cook more better than that especially the paste... There mention that is 4 layer cheese but.. We can't taste the cheese at the end and only cream taste ....I wish they can improve that problem!P. S the bad service is that women!! We didn't finished all our food then she so hurry to clean up all our dish which include the paste pizza!!!!!! She is so impolite !!!!!!!!when we choose the restaurant we wish there Hv a professional service rather than that. !!!! I wish there boss give more training for that women \_/"""

happy wed night with my lovely girls friends. We shared soup, salad, spaghetti , sirloin steak , cod fish fillet and pizza toghether. The soup is creamy and tasty, match with warm bread, it's perfect. the salad is fresh. But i dislike the spagehetti cost $130 , seafoods's taste like forzen food and haven't any sea's taste and the sauce is too less if it add more salt or white sauce that would be better, at least can cover the forzen seafood's taste. Anyway, i love the pamaham pizza , the pamaham mix with rocket leave are so yummy, that we kill the pizza at 5 minutes. The sirloin is ok and we love the side dish, vegetables and smash potato. Besides, we ordered half dozen oyster which is from us. The oyster is fresh even is not salty enogh, but is acceptable. Maybe is late around 9, so we hard to find a waiter to refill our empty cup of water. I think we should go there early next time.

Someone told me about this restaurant some time ago. Recently I had an old classmate visiting from Toronto so I decided to take her there and check it out.
The waitress waited at our table wore a once white but has become gray blouse and a black bra under it. Right there, I already lost half of my appetite. There was absolute no expression on her face, never smiled, never said "excuse me" or "thank you". She took our orders (like a robot), came back with the salads. We saw bread baskets on other tables so we asked her if we could also have some bread. She brought the bread but never the "dip". We didn't bother to ask her again, I personally didn't care for the bread anyway. Then, while I was still working on my salad, she brought all of our entrees. She had to yelled across the restaurant for another waitress to come pick up the two salad plates which my friends had finished eating, put those two entrees in front of my friends and left mine in the middle of the table. (Dear Restaurant Owner, please train your servers. Amen.)

Went for dinner with my mom and ordered carpaccio for appetizer, a pasta and a gnocchi for mains. Carpaccio was quite good while the chicken pasta with jalepeno was exceptionally well prepared. It was very appetizing. However, the gnocchi was a disaster. It was like mushed flour, only the sauce was ok. I had a difficult time finishing that dish to be honest. People tended to be quite loud there (maybe a coincidence) and service was average, can't really expect too much I guess. Overall it's worth a try but I warn you DO NOT order the gnocchi under any circumstances...

We decided to try this place for our date today.
It was...slightly disappointing.
The photo of the entrance is slightly deceiving (not intentionally). It's actually recessed into the building at a vehicle drop of area, so the view from the windows is actually looking at the car entrance and exit openings only.

At 7pm, it was empty except for one table (was eventually ~70% full when we left though) so there was no wait for a table.

We ordered the set dinner which included: appetizer, main, dessert, tea/coffee.
The waiter didn't bother to introduce the pasta of the day, fish of the day, or dessert...
When we asked what the pasta of the day was, we were told it was any of the pastas on the a la carte menu, except for 3.
He still didn't introduce the fish of the day, or the dessert though.
We assumed that the desserts would be any choice from the menu, maybe leave or take 1 or 2.....we were wrong, and the waiter was...actually a bit rude when I commented that we just assumed it was the same as the pasta.
His comment was "Well, it's not, it's chocolate"...something...can't remember the name of it.

We ordered the Caesar Salad, Smoke Salmon Salad, Pasta Al Dente, and the Risotto (can't remember the exact name of the risotto).
For the salads, they looked good.
Greens were fresh, however my smoked salmon was beginning to brown, and my salad was overloaded with vinegar.

Pasta Al Dente was decent, peppers were fresh, chicken was tender, pasta was actually al dente.
The Risotto was a completely different story. It was very sour and we assume it was overloaded with some cheaper wine.
We didn't ask for it to be changed, I'm sure they would have if we did, so I don't hold the dish quality against them.

As for the dessert, it was a small piece of chocolate cake, seemed like a brownie, with vanilla ice cream on the side.
The dessert was actually quite good. Not too sweet.
Coffee was decent, but nothing special.

You could find this quality for much less elsewhere, and the ambiance wasn't worth the premium.

Left work and join friends for happy hours in TST. Few bars have good deals for Happy hour and free for ladys. Looking for food and found this place. It is same Aldente one in Wanchai. I always go there and food is very good. So we four people go in and try. The mix cold meat dish was very good and Cesar salad is with very fresh vegetables. After angel hair pasta in cream sauce is very good, baby pork ribs is soft and nice sauce on top, sirlon steak is rare and not my type but friends love it and say is very good. I love the spainish seafood rice, the name is something like 'pie yi la'. choc cake with sause is very nice and we have a nice time. After go singing upstair at kereoke.

Today I went to new Al Dente in TST with my friends for dinner, first we order Antipasto for starter
Portion was little bit small then SoHo but Parma ham and smoked salmon was very fresh and delicious
After we order 2 pasta both are cooked Al Dente just the way we want service here better then soho, over all everything was great and I am very happy because I live in TST.
