First time to have western birthday dinner with my family - it was my mum's birthday. We usually have chinese food, but wanna try something new on her big day. It was recommended by my friend. The place was not too hard to find, about 5 mins walk from the Happy Valley tram station. We arrived at around 7:30pm, and we got sitted straight away.
We ordered Mango Salsa & Jamom iberico ham, caesar salad some oysters as our starter, Angus beef, baby pigeon stuff with risotto as our main. Warm chocolate cake and mango cheesecake as our dessert.
My mum likes the mango salsa a lot... she said the mango was very sweet, and the most important thing is it comes with some warm toast!
Dad likes the oysters, forgot what it calls, I guess it was coffin bay.
A bit dissapointed with the Angues beef, it was a bit overcooked. It comes with some potato wedges, which was my favourite. I was too greedy to ask a bit more, and he gave me some extras. Service was well and the ambience was nice.
I dun really like the mango cheesecake, it was too sweet.. but guess what.. my mum still likes it.
I like the warm chocolate cake the most, its smell was fabulous & bonues is - it did comes with a movenpick vanilla ice-cream scoope!! the best i reckon!!

Ate here with my family on a Friday’s night. We arrived a couple minutes before closing and were still served a superb meal. I had the Mango Salsa as an appetizer and French Onion for soup. The Mango Salsa was a total knockout – highly recommended. The Angus Beef and Baby Pigeon both tasted delicious! One thing needs to mention is the Risotto that comes with the Duck Breast - fabulous. One downfall: The Duck Breast was a little overcooked, but still tasted okay. Other than that, the food was amazing with attentive service. And best of all, the price was reasonable.

I was surfing the Openrice website for a nice restaurant to take my wife for her upcoming birthday, and couldn't help but notice that this restaurant has received nothing but positive reviews since its inception. That led me to put together this write-up from my experience almost one year ago so that prospective diners are not misled by the overwhelmingly positive reviews.

First off, the Happy Valley location is inconvenient, and you are paying a markup for the area as much as you are for the food. I couldn't fault the selection of oysters, but I recall one sold for HK$120, which, even though I am admittedly not a connoiseur, is slightly too pricey.

Then there is the much raved about Australian baby lamb which has to be ordered in advance. Nothing special unfortunately - it tasted like a decent lamb should.

A plus was the fact that we had the entire dining area to ourselves that evening, and the service was excellent. However, the bill came out to HK$1,200 without wine, which is too expensive for a restaurant that is not run by a Caucasian chef or at least a Chinese chef who used to work at one of the 5 star hotels in town.

That's my two cents on this restaurant, and as good as the service is, it lacks the pizazz and amazing cooking to justify the bill. For this and this reason alone, I feel it fair to give it a failing overall grade.

Me and bf decided to go fine dinning for our anniversity. After a little search in openrice (actually searching for over 2 hours ), we found this Romantic Restourant in Happy Valley. We booked a VIP room to ourself. Just the two of us in the room, so we can enjoy some nice and quiet time together. Lovely.....

The restourant have a variety types of Oyster..... we ordered 2 Auz and 2 french each, loving the Auz oyster.. they are very fresh and juicy.

Then we ordered a soup each. I have a lobster soup and bf has a Ox tail soup. My soup is absolutely fabulous... both of us love it very much..

For main, I have a Chicken Mushroom Risotto and Bf gets a Australian Wagyu Beef .... Risotto is my faviour dish, really enjoy it. Bf loves his beef too... it is delightfully tender and juicy.

The environment and food is fantastic, just cant come off my mind. Point Pie is on my favour restourant list now. For sure we will be back.

Plan to hv the dinner with BF after knew this restaurant from magazine at 1 month ago. Finally I got time for the dinner at last week We arrived at around 9:30. Quiet late and hungury...but the place and atmosphere are good...
Oyster---- my BF's choice, just cant wait to order somethg for our stomach. Though it's my first time to eat oyster. 4 Australia & 2 French. really not bad, but I like Australia more...
French Bread---- taste good, but one bread seems too little for us LOL
Italian Ham---- Taste like what I ate at my europe trip. Next time I'll try the Spain one.

Caesar Salad---- Actually I wanna order duck breast salad..but my BF made a wrong order~_~...the Caesar Salad seems got a little bit different with the others...(dunno how to tell)..still not bad...
Australia Lamb---- this is my main course, my favourite, the best that I ever had.the texture & sauce are perfect....dunno how to say...guys better come to have a try
Prawn---my BF wanna order Risotto..but he changed his mind after have the waiter's suggestion..the signature of the restaurant.....prawn + fish + caviar ...really good, especial the sauce....my BF still missing right now..For me...everythg is good but caviar ...I know caviar is expensive but I just dont like it..I really wanna ask the waiter "Can I change black truffle with 1 more prawn???" LOL
Overall...the dinner is very very good..especially compare with last time's fine dinner at Brasserie Le Faxxxx~_~
OMG..just cant wait to have dinner overhere again...
