The buffet lasted from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. When we arrived there at 1:15pm, my wife and I were welcomed by the strong smell of waffle since the BBQ+waffle counter was just beside the entrance.

The hotel including the restaurant inside was prettily decorated by the characters of Tezuka Osamu (手塚治虫). (Note: My wife and I were too busy tasting the gourmet and thus took the photos after the buffet was over. Therefore, the buffet bench was empty)

The environment was wide and comfortable. Since it was weekday, the restaurant was only half full and this produced a highly tranquil and relaxing atmosphere.Though the food choice was not comparable to that offered by other 5-star hotels, the food was fresh and the quality was above standard.

The food offered included:

- Sashimi+sushi counter: Samon, tuna, 醋鯖魚, 手卷, etc,
- BBQ+waffle counter: Both Chinese and Western style of roasted meat, freshly prepared waffle,
- Cold dishes: Mussel, shrimp, little octopus, etc,

Though no special food was provided in salad bar, fruit counter, the choices were quite plentiful.

In addition, the unlimited supply of apple and orange juicy really impressed us. (A client was "stealing" the unlimitedly supplied ice-cream)

Though the desserts offered were quite satisfactory, both in terms of quality and quantity, my wife suddenly felt that buffet should be perfected by chocolate desserts. Incidentally, the lady chef serving the BBQ+waffle counter just walked by and thus my wife raised this point to her casually. To our surprise, she gave us some mini chocolate cakes after a while! Furthermore, when I waited for the waffle preparation, she asked me to return to seat as she delivered the freshly prepared waffles to our seats after they were ready.

When it was about 3:00pm, we planned to leave but the waitress told us that there was no need to rush for we could continue to sit there to finish our coffee! (till 4:30pm, as I remembered). All the staff were well-trained, friendly, helpful and polite.

Even though it was relatively cheap, it was reflected in the quality of the food.

Selection was minimal.

Salad bar was next to nothing.

Beef was overcooked.

Hot selection was all cooked several hours ago and tasted pretty nondescript.

Dessert was all waaaay too sweet and tasted old.

The only good thing is that the beer was cold.

Won't be going again and won't be recommending it to others.

when i go to the Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel, the buffet subject are BBQ theme, i can also enjoye the food showman when I'm waitting for the food, the waiter are very nice, helpful and hardworking, but the food items are not more enough that at my expection, overall, I think I'll go there again, and there are near the beach, very romantic for couple ^^
My markting analyze (4P) sharing are following:
Promotion: This hotel alway pomo on the free newspaper, so people can easier to know about there discount and what product that there are selling, and people not need to initiative to contact this hotel restaurant, because it will automatic give it to your hand at the morning when you going to by train.
Place: The place are near the beach, it is very romantic for couple, funny for teenager family, but it is far as the city, people should go there by bus, if they want to on foot, it should spend more than 20 mins.
Product: There are a lot of choosing so very suitable for the peoplp who are lovely to try different food items. This BBQ theme, can help the people who like eatting BBQ food, but not interst to do it him/her-self.
Price:There are a lot of discount when you have credit card, such as using Hang Seng Bank Limited, HSBC, and Bank Of China. If you did not have any credit card, it may a little bit expensive, but this restaurant merit to try it once time.

Last Sun, we went to Cafe Lagoon for Tea Buffet for celebrating my fd's birthday. Actually, once u stepped into Golden Coast, u felt very relaxed. And wt can u ask for more to hv such a nice tea buffet in a hotel with such a reasonable price (and there is discount for HS credit card as well!!!! )

For many tea buffets, they sell dessert, but here, the tea buffet makes no difference with lunch or dinner buffet (maybe not BBQ). The food is good, wide variety, and I like the atmosphere too, very comfortable and relaxing!!!! after buffet, take a walk on the beach makes u even feel better!!!

They have a variety of food which is of good quality. The raw oyster is quite fresh, although it's probably come from local. In the outdoor bbq booths, they supply grilled lamp chop, steak and assorted seafood, ginseng chicken soup, BB oyster congee, tempura... and the most impressive is the shrimp tempura but you may need to queue up for a while.
However, desserts is just fair.... anyway, I have no more room for that.....
All in all, the buffet at that price is good value for money and they provide very special food that you may not find in other hotel. Worthwhile to try though.
