Was here for dinner with some friends. Use to come here very often for sushi because they had a menu with wide selection of sushi, rolls and snacks. Its been a long time and I wanted sushi, so we came decided to come here. Looking at the Openrice rating, this restaurant is kind of strange. There's almost the exact same amount of people who find this restaurant good, okay and bad. This surprises me because it means there is a such a varied opinion about it. Anyway, we ordered a few things to share between the three of us. The first that came was the 玉子 and 鰻魚玉子. I get their 玉子 everytime I'm here, I think they do a good job of it. However, this time, it wasn't as hot as I wanted it ... which affected its taste. Nonetheless, the texture was good, soft, thin layers and layers of sweet egg! I prefer the original one over the one with eel because you can properly taste the egg by itself.The 辣三文魚卷 was also quite good. Salmon was thick, fat and quite fresh enough. Together with the spicy sauce and mayonnaise on the side, it was a decent roll. Worth ordering again. The 蟹子 salad though could've been a lot better. I felt that there was too much sauce and the cucumber wasn't very fresh. When it was mixed together, it tasted very soggy with too much water and very unfresh. Also not cold enough.The Sesame Udon was not so great either - mainly due to the texture of the noodles. They were hard and strange. But the sauce itself was not too bad. The 軟殼蟹 though, was great. Very crispy and tasty! Also ordered a 帆立貝壽司 which was quite good too - big, sweet and quite fresh.

The restaurant itself - we sat on one of the tables outside on the balcony, open to the ceiling of Langham Place. The seating itself was comfortable put it was way too hot! They already had a fan but no air-conditioning could reach the balcony and it wasn't very comfortable. The service was even worse ... they were very unprofessional. They put down dishes on our table then realize its not what we ordered, and this happened more than once! It seemed very disorganized and gave me a bad impression of their service staff.

Overall, I think this place's strength is their menu: great choices although some good some bad. What they need to improve on is their service and also monitoring the freshness and temperature of the food.

Come Again? Only if my friend suggests, if not, I probably won't bring this place up.

Let me start by first saying I LOVE SCALLOPS. And this place hit the spot dead on. I came here for lunch with a good friend and we ordered a lot of food, over 10 different sushi. The best has to be the scallop sushi. It is HUGE. The piece completely engulfs the tiny piece of rice under it. It is very sweet and sweet, and has a slight briny ocean taste to it.

The next best piece of sushi was the soft shell crab. I like the crispy light batter on the crab. The piece they give you is the head part, which has all the yummy roe and head juice in it. We also ordered a few typical fishes, such as seared salmon, eel, hamachi, uni, etc. They were all pretty standard from one sushi place to another. I can't emphasize enough how good the scallop was. For the amount of food we ordered the bill came out to be $300, which is I think is a good value.

The restaurant is pretty comfortable and has nice decor. Although the sushi bar can be a bit tight when it's packed. So you might be rubbing elbows with the person next to you.

with free tickets of "a nightmare on elm street", hurry to search for cinemas and not many left as it's the last few days. finally we picked langham place.

first time coming here, waited for ~30mins.

was worried a bit due to the overwhelming crying faces...

however, it turned out to be quite nice.

rice was soft and seasoned with just right amount of vinegar.

raw fish were fresh and yummy.

i love their salads and おとろ!

one or two dishes were bad, eg, the てんぷら, we ordered veggie which were covered with hard and thick batter.

overall, it is nice!

Honstly i am quite disappointed today, probably they put effort to create
new type sushi,, but their sushi platter is such a classic,, their hamachi
mix with truffle i dont think is MATCH!!! scallop with sesame sause is strange
all the fresh taste of sashimi had been screw up,.
should i call that fuison?? i have no idea, but it doesnt taste good for me,

the most impressive to us that, it cost us 420 for 2 people, thats is unbelivable for lunch
with 200 per person, i believe there are lots of options, anyway,,,i wont go again,

the food was nice but not particularly nice that i would go there again. environment is awesome. its a nice place to go to on a date especially at night when the lights gets turned on in langham. the price is acceptable for the quality and ambience however, i would not say that the size are monster sizer. they were the average sushi size. so for all those who expects XXL sushi, you can just forget it. one thing that came as a surprise to me was the octopus sashimi with this special dip. i dont like octopus sashimi myself because i always feel like i'm eating leather when i eat them but the ones served in this restaurant was surprisingly good. it was tender and fresh and the dip was very tasty too. it helped enhanced the taste of the octopus

A long-lost gathering with a very good friend from the states. Date her for a few times and finally got a double-coincidence.
Well, though there were pretty much for the sushi bar, i still think it's okay.
We two girls had a total of 9 dishes, all are pretty cool.
particularly like the service. they always refill your cup of tea quickly.
we got the table next to the window. nice view too.
it was an enjoyable dinner if the cold noodles had less soy sauce.
The sashimi rice-cakes were the highlight of the night.

haven't been here for months... but this visit was so disappointing.

Their name "monster" means some of their sushi/sashimi are in "monster size" (i.e. BIG), which is definitely what made them unique. However, this time the so-claimed monster sushi had dramatically decreased in size. See the Salmon photo! It's just like a regular size sushi we could get in other Jap restaurant.

I used to love their uni b/c they were so FRESH!!! But this time, very disappointing... some of the uni were not fresh at all.

My other favorite was salmon fin. This time their taste was very mild.

I also tried the combo ($99). It's ok. Not bad.

Service wise... horibble! We were the first group of customers that day (we probably walked in a couple of mins after they opened their restaurant). All of the waitors and chefs looked so dull... not energetic at all. Come on~~~~ it's just the beginning of the day.

Will we go back again?! well... they emphasize that they serve over-sized sushi but what we get are just as "normal" as we could have got from other restaurants. Then why should we go back?!

finally tried the Monster Sushi last Sat. Going there because of Daniel Wu, well, food-wise, overall impression was not good. Really doubt if I will go there again...

There's nothing really impressive when talking about food. I quite like the lighting there. Service-wise, we had to remind the waitress to serve us hot tea in the beginning...

took ages for u to be attended.

ordered food arrived late, saw many ready sushi r just sitting there for 15 mins waiting for waiters to come deliver it to tables.

even checking bill was slow.

we got the invoice for free parking but found out the invoice was dated mid Nov but we had it on Oct 26, created a chaotic scene @ the customer service counter at level 4A.

in short, wont go again, and wont be recommending friends.
