I wanted to come to this burger shop for like 2 years but no one did want to come with me everytime I requested and I gave up my mind already because I knew that it is impossible for me to finish the whole burger.

Since Ms.H wanted to save money and requested to spend less on dinner, we decided to go to burgeroom!! (though its food's price is not close to cheap at all)

Their menu has a wide range or burgers, side dishes and drinks.
We ordered a foie gras and beef burger and fries with cheese.

The fries come first and is of a large portion. Fries are thickly sliced and well seasoned. It is very delicious and fulfilling as well. However the cheese solidified quick which made the fries very hard to separate from each other.

When the burger comes, we wow for its size. But the foie gras is quite little comparing to the burger. Foie gras is just of so-so class and is overdone!!
As for the beef, it is really juicy and huge. However, it covers the taste of foie gras and I have to eat them separately... what's the point of ordering this then?

We sat there for around 2 hours since there were not many customers that night.
If I am coming next time, I want to try their lobster burger as I saw the lobster head on the dish is really worth taking photographs ;p

My husband is a big burger fan and requested many times to try this burger place that is highly rated on Open Rice. But, both of us were pretty disappointed. My hubby ordered the Club Burger and I got the Bacon Cheese Burger. The burgers were huge, but didn't have much nice beef flavor. They used a lot of processed cheese, thousand island sauce and marinated beef to enhance the flavor. But, they missed to miss the point -- who would like beef burgers without beef taste? (we were guessing whether that is because they didn't use good beef for the patties or because they microwaved the patties). In addition, the bacon in the bacon cheese burger was probably boiled -- it's pink and soft.

The twisted fries were pretty good, but very salty.

The cashier didn't ask whether we had Amex or Citi, which we could have used either to enjoy discount or some free stuff.

Burger joints have sprouted up in Hong Kong faster than I can finish a burger. The obsession with best beef patty, best bun, most innovative burger combi have taken the territory by storm. Burgeroom's differentiation is burgers and coffee. They use Illy beans so it's of a better quality than your average coffee stop but it's not spectacular.

So on a hot summer's day, after a workout, the first thing was to make a beeline for the fridge and pick out a cold Bundaberg Ginger Beer, one of my favorite ginger beers in the market.

Since it was our first time, we decided to order 2 burgers and split them so we could try at least 2 offerings.

The first we chose was the Portobello Cheese Burger. Be warned: the burgers are piled high and no normal person can fit it all between jaws in one sitting. So be prepared for a completely messy affair. I hate eating with my hands and regretted not going for the fork and knife option which I saw another woman do. Oh well.. at least they have a decent albeit small washroom to get presentable again.

The burger was thick and juicy, and generally enjoyable. It tasted a little more marinated than usual and I thought a little on the salty side to take away from the pure beefy goodness of the patty. The saltiness could also have been from the cheese - thought they could have used something better than the usual fast-food slices, since the theme seemed to be to be "gourmet burgers". The winner was the giant portobello which was as thick and juicy, and which balanced the flavors from the patty well. A very delish combination.

Our other choice was the Ling Fish Egg Burger, which tasted like a breakfast dish on account of the egg. Generally tasty again on account of the egg and tartar sauce. Fish was decent although this was not a WOW! by any means. Still enjoyable though, especially if hungry.

For a burger joint, we were probably most disappointed with the fries. Perhaps our choice of the Melted Cheese Fries were flawed. The fries were ok, but the cheese sauce was not melted from real cheese but from the stuff squished out of a bottle. Overly salty, without hints of real cheese and overall, made the fries extremely sticky, salty and worst of all, flacid too quickly.

Overall, a decent enough experience if you're in the neighborhood but nothing to write home about. And certainly not worth the wait, as I've heard people have had to endure close to a half hour waits at peak hours since it's a really tiny place but tea time on a relaxing Sunday was pretty doable for me. I think they had tea sets where you can get mini burgers too.

This is definitely the best burger shop i've ever had in HK.
No comments on the tightly packed seats and the way that you have to seat at the bar until some other customers finally decide to leave, the burgers and snacks the restaurant serves are excellent.
i ordered Portobello Cheese Burger and my friend ordered Scallop Burger: I was so in love with mine,even though the size is huge, i managed to finish it within 15mins. The cheese, mushroom, saucy beef and the slightly toasted bread matched perfectly well. The Scallop burger seems to be very nice as well and my friend could count 6 piece of scallop out of the burger. The snacks we ordered (potato wedges and mozzarella sticks) tasted excellent as well.

Despite the packed environment and the long waiting time, everything is great and i'd definitely go again. I really wish that they could keep the quality of the food and will not be too hurry to expand.
P.S. i think this restaurant is more for people to enjoy the food rather than a chatting place, especially during dinner time.

The restaurant was quite full when we arrived there last week. The waitress asked us to sit at the bar table first. However, when there was an empty table, she refused to let us change to the table becoz there were four customers waiting outside. That the table was not arranged by first come first serve is unreasonable.

Also, the environment is too crowded. We sat at the bar, but we have nowhere to place our handbags. tables and seats were placed close together.

The service and the environment were very poor. If you want to sit comfortably and chat for a while, don't choose this restaurant. but if you want to have a quick meal like the McDonald's, it's no big deal.

Iv been to the Burger Room twice - my first time was on the 20th of March 2010 and yesterday was my second time.

First Impression on my first visit, the restaurant was rather small but the seats were nice and comfortable.

I dun remember if its an open kitchen or not but there is a really strong burger or meaty smell that filled out the whole restaurant.

There werent alot of choices for the burgers on the menu and i wasnt expecting the price to be $60 to $90 for just a single burger. The price was not compared with McDonalds or Burger King. I was comparing to the similar competitor, Shake em burger.

I ordered the Double Decker and the Portobello Cheese Burger. The double decker was delicious and meaty but pricey, on the other hand, the portobello cheese burger was alright but the mushroom was rather small and over-cooked.
After leaving the restaurant, my jacket smelled like a piece of meat or a burger.

Was taken to this shop the 1st time more than 1 year ago already by a friend. Back then my burger wasn't very impressive at all, despite the lot of heart that seems to have gone into making it. The quality inside was just very average. Anyway I then decided to come try here again for revaluation, seeing that TIME OUT HK has given here the top 10/10 marks but given the Si Sun Fast Food version 0/10 and labelled it as dog food!

The last time I ate here, the Beef Patty had too much egg's taste and also fillers, also very 'solid'. This time however, the patty had a strange meat taste with too much seasoning, the texture was also like a steamed patty instead and too solid, rather than chunky yet fluffy! I had a big problem with its seasoning here as it was unappropriate - it lacked real beef taste, but made up with weird meat taste and that seasoning!

The Cheese also wasn't too tasty. The Buns were toasted ok-well, but then they're just Hong Kong-nised buns anyway and of the XX美 variety. Mushrooms were not sauteeded to have much mushroomy taste well either.

ALL IN ALL, I still do not understand what this place gets a lot of high ratings, both from so-called Gwai Lo's as well as Chinese customers.

The Big Bite when its really good beats here, although that place has unfresh meat or is over-cooked sometimes, which I noticed lately. Burger and Beer International is cheaper than here but much more 'natural' in taste ! And BLT Burger despite being expensive can be quite satisfactory, just don't order the Wagyu Burger there which is tasteless!

best burger i've had so far

Came here on a Saturday night, first timer, was worried at first about this place being packed due to the fact that it was the weekends, we got to the restaurant at around 7 and there were one or two tables left, lucky us! Staff was very friendly, helped us to what ever we wanted, great service! Surrounding was awesome too, they had couches (like they have at Starbucks or pacific coffee) as well, so great place for those who want to chat for a bit.

We ordered a Portobello cheese burger & melted cheese fries for two of us to share (both girls) proportion was perfect!

Burger was deeelicious! the patty was succulent and juicy, sauce was just right, salad was great! one thing they could improve is the choice of buns, as i don't really like sesame seeds on my buns >.<

Fries was oh-so-good! served to us hot, the cheese was perfect, just melted to perfection, no burnt bits

Canot wait until I go back try out their fois gras beef burger and their soft shell crab burger! Highly recommended! Spent around $150 for two people including a Snapple.

Went here in the afternoon for late lunch. Place is slightly hard to find, so I called the restaurant and they literally gave me step by step instructions - so that is good service upfront.

Food: Since it was afternoon, there was a very good value tea set ($38!!), any choice of 3 mini-size burgers with wedges and comes with a choice of hot tea - so we ordered a Chicken Burger tea set. All other items was an extra 20% off, so I got a Portabello Cheeseburger for only $68.

Chicken burger was mini-sized but still quite ample for light lunch, considering it did come with wedges. Chicken was a thick fried battered piece, very juicy and piping hot. Came with mayo and lettuce tomato. Wedges were decent, very thick with potato. I'd definitely recommend this set for value.

Portabello Mushroom burger was delicious! Came with a thick and flavorful portabello mushroom. The burger meat far exceeded my expectations and was much better quality than Shake 'Em Buns. The meat was much thicker, more juicy & tender, full of the quality beefy-ness, and came cooked perfectly - slightly pink in the center. The sesame bun was also a good pairing - just classic thick hamburger bun, the ones you get in the US. The burger was so huge, I could barely even take a full bite.

Service: Besides having the patience to give me good directions on the phone, service here was great. Very inviting! This place was a order at the counter place, but they had a waitress to deliver your food; take your orders if you dont want to bother going to counter; and give you condiments; clean up...etc. Also, there were people who waited for a table (seating filled up fast!), and the waitress would go outside and check in with the customers.

Sizing it up: By far the best burger place I have been to as of yet in HK. Its just authentic and done right. I actually prefer this over Harlan's burgers (which have a slight high-end twist to it). The seating was limited but the seats are comfy and if there is a wait, definitely worth the wait. The food came piping hot (almost burned myself) and was made to order, so there will be a bit longer wait since its not a fast food burger joint. Drinks selection was very large with Beer, Wine, Snapples, Vitamin Water, and other specialty drinks. Also, the burger selection had a very good range, from the classics to very interesting ones that I'd like to try (Soft shell crab burger; Foie Gras burger, and a range of seafood burgers (scallop; black cod, etc.). Very very satisfying experience and two thumbs up!

I learnt of this place from HSBC dining offers last week. We decided to try it tonight so I went to print out the coupon (less $50 for purchase of $200 or more)...only to find that HSBC had removed it (last day is 28/02/10) We still went.

I told the cashier that I didn't have the HSBC coupon and she said she would still offer me the discount !! (clap hands !!!). I ordered the Portobello cheese burger; Hubby ordered the mushroom burger + cheese + fried egg (!); cheese fries & coke ($25!!!!!!). Total after the discount : $161

My burger was absolutely delicious !! The Portobello was grilled just right; my beef patty was juicy & not overcooked. Hubby said his burger was good too (I didn't try as I was too busy working on my own!!). The cheese fries were good but the cheese hardened as it cooled and most of it stuck to the bottom of the carton container. Howerver, we still managed to scrape it off & eat it !!

Everything we ordered was good and would definitely go back.

(Next time we will try the fish & chips as the table next to us order another one after they finished their first round)
