Baileys Habiccino Smile Jun 13, 2011
Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
Haven't been to Habitu for quite a while. Like their pizza very much -- crust is always thin and crispy and the toppings are fresh and cheesy. Their environment is great as well ... always relaxing and much less crowded than the SB and PC chains tongue

But their locations do not really cross my routes of activities too much, and the price tag of their coffee is, I feel, on the high side.
Still on vacation and passed by this Habitu. Decided to try their new drink Baileys Habiccino. Baileys is an Irish whisky, a cream based liquer, with a 17% alcohol content. Baileys Habiccino has 45 ml of Baileys added to the coffee based drink and with cream added on top. The drink was really great. Very easy to the palate, you won't feel the alconhol at all other than the sweet aroma of the liquer and cream.

We also ordered a cream cheese and smoked salmon bagel to go with the drink. The food was a disappointment. The bagel was too soft, more like an ordinary dough rather than the slightly chewy bagel. The smoked salmon was fresh but there was way too little cream cheese, not even enough to cover the bagel, let alone the thick paste like serving I expected.
Cream cheese could barely cover the bagel

Overall, the Habiccino was great but the bagel was below par. Price was on the high side but will still come back occassionally if I happen to cross the path.

    Carbonara! Smile Mar 11, 2011
Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
Happened to be at Admiralty for an interview.

    Carbonara + Latte for lunch.
    Cool!

    - Carbonara
just cooked, a lot of steam was stilling coming out
very creamy and light sauce, with a lot of beacon slices
exceptionally loved the spaghetti, soft but not sticky
local restaurants can never produce such texture.. maybe because they all use 'instant spaghetti'?! lol
the size of the dish was worth the price
yet the whole thing was a bit salty
    Nice!
    Nice!

    - Latte
the best coffee in Admiralty district
especially when compared to those chained stores!
the proportion between milk and coffee was right fit
the coffee smelt great, tasted even greater
must be using south american beans e.g. mexican i liked the taste of 'tropical'
    needed not add any sugar
it was bitter but not so after a few seconds
    great great and great!
and the heart was pretty by the way

    love the lunch
and love the offer of working opportunity more
you bring me luck cafe habitu =D

My friend and I went here initially because we had two free vouchers from a promotion by the SCMP & my uni. We both had:

    (1) Caffe Lattes: good. nice art.

    (2) Tomato/mozzarella/pesto sandwiches: I could use a little bit more cheese but this is my personal preference. Still good.

    (3) Meatballs in marinara sauce: marinara sauce = yum!

    (4) Dessert: I forgot the names, but it was a chocolate one and a blueberry cheesecake one. Cheesecake was creamy; chocolate cake was surprisingly decadent. Much better than in other coffee chains.

The service was really remarkable. I asked for extra marinara sauce because I like my food with a lot of sauce in it, and they made extra specially for us. I didn't expect this level of service, especially here in HK. Will definitely come back!

Plastic like cheesecake Just OK Nov 14, 2010
Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
Poor service, it's sunday and wanna hang around coffee shop. Founded a table at a window seat, I asked someone at the cashier to clean up the table and she was acted like she didn't wanted. I stood beside the table for around 1 min that she came to clean up. I would have moved the dishes away if there were only a few pcs but it was not. Coffee was normal without special , the cheese cake was bad, the outlook was good but May be it was kept in the fridge for tooo long that the outer of cheesecake was hard like rock and feel like plastic! Luckily, when I continue eat until the middle part of the cheesecake, it tastes a bit better. So I think it is not the supplier's problem but procedures and standard problems of habitu! I may not eat cheesecske here again!

was feeling the midweek blues and fancied a quick afternoon coffee break with a colleague...... we stumbled into our nearby caffe habitu and ordered a rose latte, cappuccino + shared a piece of lemon cheesecake.

we often come here for for quick bite at lunchtime, which is usually packed. i am always impressed by the latte art, hearts and leaves that the baristas draw onto my coffee. at my latest visit it wasn't so busy, so i asked the barista if he could draw something to brighten up my day (having a terrible day at work....). I somewhat expected a heart or something simple, but he spent a little more time and started fabricating a woman's face out of milk!!! i was amazed by his professionalism.

we found a good spot to sit down and enjoy our coffee + cake. it was the 1st time I tried their lemon cheesecake. It was so light, refreshing taste, very tasty. At $35, the size is generous and good for 2 to share, very good match with authentic italian coffee

Had a sudden craving for Coffee in Admiralty and the 1st shop popping up in my mind ? Would you believe Chief: Caffe Habitu!! Especially at the branch under Hutchison Building. (I mean, there's Pacific Coffee and Starbucks too next door... smile)

Ordered their Seasonal Signature Coffee @ around $56-58:
    ******************************
bowlALBA'S WHITE TRUFFLE CREAM CAFFE LATTE -
It sounded gimmicky, but that Truffle Cream really did carry a massive dose of White Truffle essence, but since its in creamy form it won't smell great until it starts melting in the coffee and in your mouth.... that's when it really hits! Its quite addictive as it is presented in this form but ultimately becomes overpowering! The coffee base was also pretty acceptable at this branch just as I'd remembered, at least above my @Rex Caffe experience. There's enough Velvety foam and also a much need stronger Espresso base, its surprising that there're inconsistencies amongst the branches and shops. SCORE: 4.0/5.0

bowlMIXED MUSHROOMS SOUP WITH TRUFFLE OIL -
This was ok but needed much more wild mushrooms as it was slightly plain and too creamy, also had little whole pieces of mushrooms. I counted 2 only. No signs of Truffle Oil essence was detected either, I think it was forgotten. SCORE: 3.0/5.0

    bowlCANNELE -
Its strange to see a 'Cannele' in Habitu but at only $7.0 a piece, I forgive their mis-spelling of the Canele! It was reheated by the staff correctly for me in the oven. The centre was slightly eggy but overall it was too spongy with voids, also lacks the sweet-bitterness and rum plus vanilla essence. Not very authentic in texture, it bothered me more than its taste - but at least better than Coco Frans! SCORE: 3.8/5.0

MORE '4' THAN '3' DUE TO COFFEE.

my mint chocolate Smile Dec 14, 2007
Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
had lunch with a friend here to borrow some japan travel info from her. its a bit crowded during lunch hour but its more than acceptable in terms of central/wan chai/admiralty-lunch hr standard.

we had a magarita pizza, chicken caesar salad and i had a mint chocolate, quite full. we are lucky enough to get the black sofa seat by the window.

the all-day-breakfast set is only available on weekends. i ll come try again some time later.

worth mentioning was the gd service of the cashier gal: i first order mint chocolate and then change my mind to mint tea and then change back to mint chocolate. still she dint show any displease. This is uncommon in HK, even in high-class restaurant...thats why its worth mentioning.

    Caffe Habitu-Affogato  Sep 16, 2007
Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
I have tried the Affogato at Caffe Habitu also. I think that one with alcohol is "Affogato with liqueur". So, if you ordered only Affogato, it is vanilla gelato served with a shot of espresso on the side... Maybe that's why you didn't taste alcohol in the coffee. You can try it next time it was very good ^.^
