Food: black truffle pizza with Parmesan Cheese (added 30 dollars for the set) Cream pea soup. own pasta (squid ink pasta, cream herb sauce, Parmesan cheese, bacon, mushroom and onion) Red bean ice and baked chocolate pudding with Ice cream. potatoes skin
Taste: First came the soup which was a Cream pea soup. It was very green indeed, but to my surprise it was so good. Real creamy, but isnt those thick cream soup you can gt in cans from supermarket. You can tell it is home made. It isnt too runny, just right. taste very rich and creamy with faint pea taste to it. Was real good especially dipping it with a garlic bread. FANTASTIC!!! The soup came included with the set. You can change to a set for just 30 hk dollars with a glass ofs pecial drink which I chose Red bean Ice. I fell in love with their red bean ice st time I came here. I hope it wasnt a fluke the first time, and they certainly proved it wasnt. I liked how they didnt put as much ice as some place do, and the ratio of red bean and evaporated milk was. So yummy. Definately worth 30 hk dollars more!
The Black truffle pizza with Parmesan cheese was SUPERB!!!! cnt find anything to complain about it. was so rich and creamy, you can taste the black truflle, the cheese altogether, and it wasnt too heavy. I loved how crunchy it was. I can eat another portion of them. I decided to choose the ingredients and sauce for my own pasta, I chose squid ink pasta with cream herb sauce, Parmesan cheese, bacon, mushroom and onion. It wasnt as big portion as i thought, but it was enough. The pasta was al dente, and i loved how creamy it was, with the smell of fried anion and crispy bacon. Was good. Sometimes if you have too much creamy pasta it gets too much, but this place, did BRILLIANT pasta.
And how could I not order a dessert. last time I came, I ordered the baked chocolate pudding with ice cream for just another 30 hk dollars for the set. It acme fairly quickly after I ordered it after my main meal. It was warm and I love how you eat the warm pudding with the melted centre with the cold vanilla ice cream. WAS delicious. If only i could have a bigger chocolate pudding. Was just not enough! TOO GOOD The only average food was the potatoe skin which wasnt extraordinary
Environment iT si rather small, but i like how cozy it is. Not too dark and not too bright. tables are big enough to hold a few plates tos hare.
Services: it is bit small, but the service is splendid!! Which makes it perfect. We were greeted as soon as we came in through the door, and was seated very quickly. Difference from last time I came here and this time, is realized there was a few more waiter/waitresses. They were very politeful when taking order and always asked if I wanted anything more. i loved how helpful the manager (I think he is), when he served us the black truffle pizza, he kindly asked if it is our first time, or have we tried this pizza before, as the pizza is best to be eaten fresh and hot, and it has a blackcurrant sauce to go with it. As we ordered a few plates and had our sharing plates on table, he helped us moving teh place and setting it so we have enough place. The service is SUPRB once again. And when we asked for mayonnaise for potatoe skin, she kindly said yes and gave us a little bowl of the sauce. When we finished out main course, the waitress asked if i would like any dessert which not many place do ask you that.

OVERALL: I LOVE THIS PLACE! 2nd time here, and it cant get better than this. i would think 2nd time here, i would find flaws, but instead, its near perfect. DELICIOUS food, polite and well mannered ppl. One thing is, i did call to book table at 5, when i got there, there were empty seats, so i guess if you aint coming for dinner (6pm onwards) no need reserve tables!

Heard of Golden captain for so long, but because it is situated at an area I would not usually visit so havent had chance to try!
Today i decided to give the good old captain a visit. For me, it is quite a way to it, gt the MTR to Olympian station, from there, i exited at Exit B, n walked all the way on the footbridge to the 2nd turning. Walked a road, then we got to the road where the restaurant is situated. Wasn't as hard or as complicated as i have thought it would be
as it was afternoon 3pm, there was no queue, and only a few tables of costumers in the restaurant. I wasn't really expecting a WOW interior decoration, but the first impression of the interior was satisfying. Not bad. quite simple, not stylish but comfy. We was greeted immediately and was seated on the middle table. There are round bout 10 tables I think in restaurant, the kitchen located at the back. Lights were dim, and quite peaceful. Menu was cleqrly written with chinese and english. Not a huge variation of food to choose from, but as i had ideas already in what to order from reading openrice, i did not study the menu as much.

They had tea set from round 28 hk dollars, with a free drinks. There was many choice, but they did not seem very appealing. Ordered the famous Cheese burger and the Black truffle pizza. Menu stated if you add 30 hk dollars you could change it into meal, which includes a free drink and a soup of the day. We got a choice of Chowder or Vegetable soup. we chose the vegetable soup and a chocolate Milkshake. ewe also ordered a set from the Tea set menu as it was such a bargain. we ordered M which was a fusseli with duck in Tomato sauce. the free drink i chose red bean ice.

first came the soup, with a piece of baguette. the soup was very nice, but portion was quite small, especially we shared it. then came the chocolate Milkshake, It was abit disappointing as it wasn't as creamy and thick as i hoped, it was bit watery. the Pizza came quite quickly and so did the Pasta.

Pasta was definately not al-dente, even by looking at it. Looked a bit over cooked, and mushy. Not really that hot. But to my surprise it did not taste as bad as it looks but did not have the WOW factor. the pizza was not the ordinary pizza you get in pizza hut, but more like sandwich. i love that, something different, and very crispy. It was very very cheesy, which is a good thing, with lots and lots of parmesan cheese powder on it, with the Black truffle inside. it was the best. tasted so good.

The burger came and looks just exactly how it looks in the pictures from other peoples post. It was cut into 4 pieces, so considerate of them. the meat was very juicy and was just right.

The pizza and the burger we would definately come back for it next time. For further 30 hk dollars, we could have a dessert too. i had the choc pudding, as it took some time to come, i am sure it was made from fresh. the pudding was warm, and the ice cream was ICE cold, with the centre so cold and hard to even spoon out. the two was the best eaten together. the whole meal came to 236 hk dollars which was a bargain as we had ordered 3 things, with one as a set comes with a drink, a soup and a dessert.
I would definately recommend this place, and cannot wait to visit again.

I have read a few positive comments on openrice, and thus would like to give this restaurant a try. We arrived late on a Monday evening, and were greeted with a sincere smile as we walked into restaurant. Though we have made no reservation, the manager kindly seated us at the one last table inside the restaurant.

We have ordered wings, another starter (forgot already), burger and pasta. I wouldn't say the food are the best in town, however, given the price they charged on each dish, I can see great value for money. The burger was nicely done in the chinese way, and the pasta was cooked at perfection.

The most impressive thing out of all wasn't the food, but simply the outstanding services they offered. I know this may sound a bit too much, but I can actually see some better and more caring services from this restaurant when comparing to some 5 stars hotel in Hong Kong.

With this backdrop, I would recommend people to try this restaurant, it is really a place which offers good food and service for the amount of money you pay.

I order a rib-eye steak lunch and I do not expect anything.

But they offer me as below.
1. The waiter there is asking me what kind of daily soup, rice or pasta or veg for side dishes, this is normal.
2. They even ask me how I like the steak done?, this is unexpected.
3. Service is efficient and polity as I need to go back to work within 45 mins.
4. The food and portion is good and I know there have wine to sell too.

So that my comment of this is Unexpected and very happy to pay only within $50 dollar.

I live in somewhere nearby. It was my first time to try this restaurant last month.
I was real disappointing with over expectation got from this page.
The soups were not good at all..
They were much worse than those cans of soup you can get at supermarkets.
I ordered a burger with fries. I can say the burger was worse than those in McDonald's. The beef was not FRESH at tall. The texture was like Streamed Beef Ball in chinese restaurants. If you wanna enjoy good burgers, please go to shake em bun.
we also ordered a spaghetti. Ha..The sauce was not that special but it's too rich. we could see they added loads of cheap cheeses inside.

for the dessert, we ordered 心太軟
um..not that special..but it's already the best dish we order that day

Last Saturday was my friend's birthday. I recommanded to go this restaurant for celebration because I quite liked their dishes. However, we had have a bad experience of their service that time.

We reserved a table at 7pm but we still had to wait for 20 mins at outside. Okay, no problem. Meanwhile, we ordered a lot of delicious foods (honestly said). Until 8:30pm, we were going to order dessert, a waitress told us it was a time to pass our table to somebody who booked. We felt very angry, we have just spent one and quarter hours to finish our dinner. Was it like as "fast food". And this was my first time to meet a restaurant which did not allow people order dessert and provided such bad arrangement indeed.

I had a dinner with my wife yesterday. Overall comments were good, value for money. Cheaper than Pizza Hut and value to good food.

We didn't book and wait for about half an hour for the table. We ordered a pumpkin soup, salmon / potato salad, appetizer sampler, Lingunie with pesto sauce and souffle.

Pumpkin soup - rich pumpkin taste and out of my expectation, the crabmeat was fresh crabmeat, not the fake Japanese crab stick. I just added $40 on top and got this soup with a special drink. I ordered banana smoothie for the special drink, it was yummy.

Salmon/potato sald - standard one.

appetizer sampler - samosa, deepfried fish finger and onion rings were good and very hot. chicken wings were crispy but a little bit tasteless.

Lingunie with pesto sauce - up to hotel's standard. Lingunie was al-dente, shrimps were fresh. But I like stronger taste so I thought it would be more tasteful if more pesto sauce.

Souffle - we tried ginger flavour and it was good with diced ginger.

we spent only $250 for the dinner!!

For my afternoon tea I order a hamburger and a tea set. The hamburger took over 15 minutes and both the beef patty and the bun was cold. The mozzarella cheese on top was quite tasteless. I the ordered a tea set of a 6 inch pizza and tea.The pizza was obviously reheated in a toaster oven and was close to being burnt when served. Even the cup of tea was lukewarm and brewed with inferior quality tealeaves.
For a much better hamburger try Triple O. Even Burger King's burger taste better.

Tried there 2 times, the service was good and taste not bad. Burger was good. Will come again!
