心太軟
The molten chocolate centre was incredibly hot and runny. I also liked the fact that the exterior walls of cake were not overly thick, but I felt they could be improved by being crispier. Perhaps the lack of crispiness was due to the fact that it wasn’t baked in an oven? – the waiter had taught us that, in the event of a takeaway, to reheat it above a stove, rather than in an oven… Also, I would have loved a scoop of icecream on the side to accompany it… as well as a more bitter tinge to the chocolate flavour (personal pref!).
炸雪糕
Not at all what I was anticipating. There were the words ‘高力’ in the name somewhere, I’ve forgotten, but it’s actually more fitting with those words. The egg-white-like substance wrapped around the (ice hard) ice-cream was indeed very much like that of 高力豆沙 dessert, and did not taste deep-fried at all. It was quite enjoyable, nonetheless – just don’t be expecting deepfried ice-cream. And don’t expect the vanilla ice-cream to be of great quality…

This was rather shocking. I have never before tried a baked Alaska made artificial tasting ice-cream. The egg white on top was not hot, or even warm, and the melting ice-cream beneath tasted even worse at that weird room-temperature. The egg-white and the ice-cream did not really go well together, and the whole thing was just overly sweet and artificial. And there was nothing else to the dessert – no meringue/ cake etc. It was like eating a noob-chef’s first attempt at making this dessert, who had missed out on a lot of steps during the process…
I think I would return again, to try the cheese version of the心太軟. I’m afraid the overall quality of the desserts sampled this time makes me hesitant to try more of the other items on the menu…
