已經是幾個月前的事,不過唔想其他人再上當,所以都係要寫。當日與幾個舊同事叙舊,諗住可以食得豪啲,可以對住維港景傾吓計,點知中伏。餐廳侍應服務唔得,我地以為喺ifc, 又係百年老店,應該好專業,點知只係有數個東南亞姐姐同手震震嘅初級侍應。我地4個人分別叫兩款Set Dinner, 有湯,主菜是鴨胸或大蝦,飲品及甜品,每位大約係480蚊。餐湯ok, 但唔太熱,主菜卻少得驚人,鴨胸只得半個手掌咁大,又硬又老,衰過燒鴨脾,旁邊伴住小棠菜; 蝦仲差,只有兩隻中蝦,炸到好似吉烈咁,伴住少少沙律。甜品我地要了佢地最出名嗰個Mont Blanc, 啲栗子幾滑,不過甜到死,頂唔順。飲品叫了紅酒同熱朱古力,紅酒ok, 但係個熱朱古力太濃,一pat pat好似泥槳,口感似芝麻糊,跟本飲唔到。我地由7點鐘入座,食到8點鬆啲,侍應竟然話要關門,吓法式快餐? 雖然間餐廳喺蓮卡佛入面,但係蓮卡佛都未close, 食咗1個鐘就趕人走,成4百幾一個set dinner 喎!真係名過於實!

  改不了的愛酸,駐足考慮個十秒,還是多點一個Tarte Citron $72。不像平常的檸檬撻般加蛋白霜及灼烤一下添色水,Angelina的版本用上小棉花糖。想起小時候喝熱朱古力總愛加細細粒棉花糖,不禁想挑起來放入熱朱古力。言歸正傳,這兒的檸檬撻撻皮未算脆口,還是有點受潮了。酸酸甜甜的檸檬餡很夠味,雖然杰身而且頗甜,但我愛重口味。只是表面的棉花糖格格不入,老老實實唔覺加落去會好食左。

  很久沒有喝過Old-fashioned hot chocolate "L'Africain" $88了。話說原來這個可以外賣帶走,$65,便宜得多。只是既來之,叫做幫手交下租交下燈油火蠟,中環地位,要扮下高級係要成本既。朱古力果然濃郁得很,從壺中倒出來的時候教人興奮得手舞足蹈。皆因以往喝到的,一開始就已經一杯上,倒朱古力(黎飲)的場面可是第一次。用上三種可可豆,產自NigerGhanaCôte d'Ivoire,香氣固然不俗。可惜味道太甜,還是要遷就主流口味,對於愛吃90%濃度的我……還是甜膩過頭。
  儘管已是自知的事實,但是我還一直一直嘗試去喝甜的……結果是我只愛「吃」甜,而非「喝」甜。而且家人的勸告是對的,其實醫生也有說過,一直太瘋了,身體已經不斷響警號。這次一頓下來,糖分一定破標,只希望翌日身體狀況還是好好的。

柔和陽光的下午,終於可以一嘗法國名店Angelina Paris , 在中環IFC 店開了近一年多,但始終未有機會去試,今午相約好友下午茶聚,之前本人氣管不適,故要等待完全康復才敢order 聞名以久的 Old-fashion hot chocolate " L' African" ($88)朱告力相當厚身full body, 但並不苦澀,另附上一壷 Chantilly 鮮忌廉一齊享用, 反而中和了強烈朱告力苦味及濃度,厚厚的朱告力漿倒出來像岩漿般,十分杰身,最藉得加許是剛奉上時已聞到香濃的味道,用印上Angelina Paris 的白色陶瓷杯,令人感覺陶醉,濃郁幼滑彷彿走進味蕾中停留,久而不退。但老實講味道太甜,份量頗多,我同好友都飲剩,証明貨重價實,用上來自非洲優質可可豆, 暫時在香港只此一家有這樣高質數的朱吿力奶。Le Mont-Blane ($80) 店中的signature cake, 底部是蛋白簿脆,全身被濃濃chestnut cream 包住,栗子蓉頗香,但太甜同有㸃兒膩。Paris - New York($90)形態像山峯,外層是一層泡芙,入面是核桃淡忌廉及核桃果仁脆

Paris - New York($90)形態像山峯,外層是一層泡芙,入面是核桃淡忌廉及核桃果仁脆糖,味道十分合拍,香甜內軟,甜度適中,味道恰到好處,估不到比Mont-Blane 造得還好味。

裝修典雅華麗,女待應也穿著法式女僕裝束,但似乎有少部分不熟悉餐牌,價錢昂貴也預料之內,始終是法國百年老店,期待有機會去巴黎品嘗真正Angelina 。

There are not a lot of people dining at night. Just few couples enjoying the dinner set at Angelina Paris. I love the romantic atmosphere there especially with the French music.

*The ambience is quite different during day time, less romantic, more relaxing. You can even sit at the balcony, enjoy the harbourview and have your breakfast.

You need to pour the chocolate into the cup. From the velocity of the chocolate you can tell it is fairly viscous.

After pouring the chocolate into the cup, the chandelier from the ceiling is clearly reflected in the cup. This reminds me of the lyrics of Chandelier by Sia, "I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier - I'm gonna live like tomorrow doesn't exist." I'm gonna have a sip of the chocolate and live like there's no tomorrow. Taste fruity.

L'african looks like the hurricane in the storm after I add the fresh cream. Interestingly, the cream itself tastes like cotton candy. L'african ends with a nutty taste with the fresh cream. Some people think L'african is not worth the price. I agree that this is quite pricey, but I must also admit that this is one of the most quality hot chocolates I have ever drunk in Hong Kong.

Alternatively, waiter recommends one of the signature desserts - Mont Blanc Framboise (HKD90). I believe what makes it outstanding is not only about its appearance, but also its mouthfeel.

The cream inside is one of the fresh ones I have ever tasted in my whole life. It is as soft and airy as the cloud in the sky. Its outer shell, however, is too sweet for me. Deep inside the crust of the mountain is the raspberry pieces which further balances the overall sweetness of the dessert. The base of the dessert is the biscuit as crispy and yet as sweet as sugar. I would prefer real chestnut to the sweet biscuit.

Another impressive dessert is Paris-New York (HKD90) with Chou pastry, pecan praline light cream and crunchy pecan praline heart. The chou pastry is freshly made and a bit salty. As this is less sweet than Mont Blanc, I love this more. Similarly, the size is amazingly large.

There is no touch of sugar within the lemon lime confit. Cheesecake mousse is as smooth as souffle. Leon shortbread is crunchy as described in the menu. You will be hungrier after having this.

I have also tried Angelina Paris' Tart tout chocolat, which is crunchy, yummy but not so impressive. When you have too much cocoa crumble, you just prefer something less dry and irritaing to your throat. I do think this dessert is well made, but just that I am not a huge fan of crunchy dessert.

Tired of the hot chocolate, I would also try their tea for easier digestion- Herbal infusion (HKD65) which bears the taste of cinnamon and spice. 

In short, Angelina Paris' pastries are high-quality but come at a price. Desserts, however, makes one irrational. I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier... from Angelina Paris, to my dream.

Here come the main dishes.
There were three mains to choose from, including the black truffle porcini ravioli, poached boston lobster & wagyu beef tenderloin steak.

The poached boston lobster was pretty well marinated, served with cognac sauce, the taste was quite promising. Yet, the portion of the dish was unsatisfying which was a bit disappointing.

For the Wagyu beef terderloin steak, the steak itself was tender, but it was a bit overcooked which dried up the meat a bit. Fortunately, the truffle veal sauce helped moisten it up and to be fair, the taste was quite okay.

首先當然要先飲試一口純朱古力唔配CREAM,嗯…感覺就似將粒裝朱古力熱溶成朱古力醬整甜品一樣, 口感好RICH, 朱古力味濃郁, 唔會苦澀, 不過......甜味較重! 飲多幾啖感覺都幾飽滯.....
之後配埋忌廉一齊飲用, 口感係仲更加細膩香滑~ 雖然加CREAM會令朱古力溝稀左啲,但飲落去既口感就會變得冇咁杰身同張口。
如果怕朱古力太THICK, 加CREAM飲用係比較易入口~
