One of my clients loves to buy cookies from this bakery, i've had a few boxes from there. Few of the best ones are with pineapple fillings鳳梨酥, and 杏仁 8MIX.

REALLY good, food gone in 1 hour in pantry.

i have read about this bakery from magazines years ago and have known that its pineapple rolls were extraordinarily good. knowing from openrice tht this bakery has a branch right next to the fairwood fastwood i was going to visit, theres no reason for me to NOT pay this legendary bakery a visit. tongue

i spent quite a while locating the TUNG LO MALL. as i was walking up the stairs, i was quite shocked by the SIZE of the 'shops'. anyways, just turn right and you will see the logo o this bakery right opposite to a malay pastry shop. as i was rushing for dinner,i took a card and promised to return after eating.

i ended up buying a box of the pineapple roll i have dreamt of buying for all these years-and it was NOT cheap, costing you 75 for a small box of 17 pieces. the rolls also look bigger in photos than in reality. upon returning home, i immediately opened the box and tried a piece-it was so light and crispy. i lifted one up with my fingers and put it beneath my nose. OHHHHHHHHHHHH the magical aroma of butter cookies came like a flood. i put it into my mouth. YUMMMMMM. the butterness of the cookies, the crispness of it, the sweetness of the pineapple-different textures and tastes came one after another as i slowly and lovingly bit into the roll. the pineapple filling was not artifically but naturally sweet. omg. this is the perfect cookie i have always been looking for. smile

all it all, paying 75 for 17 pieces of these tiny rolls seem to be a luxury. but if u have the chance to try it out before paying for it, i promise that you will immediately fall crazily in love with it and change your attitude towards it.

Pineapple or apricot ? Just OK Aug 05, 2009

There have been many reviews for Jenny’s Bakery, but I still haven’t distinguished whether they are real western cookies or Chinese version of cookies so it hasn’t been on my priority list to try.

I only tried them recently when my friend got some, apparently they are the Taiwanese pineapple cakes/rolls. However the ones at Jenny bakery have a more crunchy buttery shortcrust.
The normal Taiwanese pineapple rolls are rectangle shaped, exactly like the fig rolls (see picture).

The ones at Jenny Bakery appear like cookies, the filling wrapped in the crust.
It smells very buttery and rich, and the filling is generous too, although everyone saids its Pineapple, to me the colour and taste is more like Apricot.
The texture of the whole roll is chewy, and the crust crumbles and gets mixed in with the filling.
