Had a dinner with my friend on Friday night before going to concert in Kwai Tsing Theatre.

There were not many people when we arrived at 7 o'clock. It was not bad to sit outdoor if the weather was cooler and there was no people smoking. We chose to sit inside that night as it was still quite hot.

The tasting dinner ($98) including salad/soup and one main course, which included 極黑豬扒, 海鮮意大利飯, 和牛尾意大利雲吞 or 牛扒. Each table can only ordered one 極黑豬扒. if ordered two, additonal $20 will be added to the second one. The set did not include coffee/tea. Qutie strange.

We ordered one soup (pumpkin soup) and one salad (deep fried vegetable cake on greens) as appentiser, and one 極黑豬扒 and one 海鮮意大利飯 as main course to share.

Pumpkin soup: very bad. No taste of pumpkin at all but very salty. mad We saw that the waiter poured the pumpkin soup from a plastic water jar! If they really wanted to use that ugly plastic water jar, i think they should do that in the kitchen but not in the bar in front of all customer.

Deep fried vegetable cake on greens: the deep fried vegtable cake was fried for a long time. Not hot and crispy. quite disappointed. sad

極黑豬扒: very thick. it was quite soft and surprisingly not too dry. the taste and texture was acceptable with this price.

海鮮意大利飯: there were more seafood (frozen shrimp, cuttlefish, mussels, scallops, clams etc) than rice. the texture of the rice was ok, not too soft or too hard. however, the rice all came inside the shells of the mussels and clams. it was quite difficult to eat. also, there was broken shell inside the rice! it was unforgiveable! mad

The service and environment is OK. The quality is acceptable with this price. It was not a bad choice if you went to Kwai Tsing Theatre and would like to have a quiet place for dinner.

Good Business Lunch Smile Jun 11, 2010

Came to Kwan Fong to meet with some ex-colleagues and we went out for lunch around 1pm. My friend said we can try one Italian restaurant which she hasn't tried before but should be able to find a seat without any reservation!! and actually did see some good comments about this restaurant in openrice but never try and finally had this chance today!!

The environment and decoration were not bad and quite suitable for business lunch.
    Service was good too...
For the food, two of us ordered Pork Chop and the other two ordered Luiginni and Salmon. All the main courses were quite presentable. For the taste, Pork Chop was very delicious and soft., yummy.lol The lunch set came with sparkling wine or orange juice AND appetizer AND soup AND dessert AND a coffee - which was quite worth for the price.

However, dessert was cupcake which was not really my cup of tea.... too hard and too sweet .... mad

Anyway, will go again for even dinner....

not good at all Cries Oct 29, 2008

went to qui today. food wasn't that great. actually i would say it's not good at all!!
went with a friend. we ordered:

lunch set pork chop with carrot soup and another lunch set risotto with pumpkin salad.
the soup was ok. not a really strong carrot taste
the pumpkin salad was not good at all. the pumpkin tasted uncooked, actually i think it was raw. i feel like i was eating a jack-o-lantern for Halloween.
pork chop was hard as brick. totally over cooked and the risotto taste like milk soup with rice. the only ok thing in the entree was the mashed potato that came with the pork chop.

for dessert it was some kinda of cake. i am guessing it's like tofu cheesecake, but i really couldn't tell what it was.

overall it was a bad experience and i would never go back. for $100 a person i think there are many other choice in kwai fong that would have been much better!!huffy
