Last week I had my dinner with my friend in this restaurant. We ordered the Set dinner for two. Starting with their Seafood Platter, it had 4 oysters, half crab & some snail & shrimps. When the waiter serving the platter, they had 2 gls of white wine give us, said this is complimentary and it's a perfect match for having their seafood and white wine.Their oyster was so good that I never try before, I think this is the best oyster in this district..... the salad & soup is ok, the main course are lobster pasta & fish fillet. Lobster pasta is another I will highly recommmend dishes, the lobster pasta is so tasty that I will miss it..........

We, group of 8, went to this restaurant on a Friday/Saturday night, about 6 months ago.
I picked this restaurant because of the overall good comments on openrice.
When we arrived, there were no other people despite it's a weekend. And throughout the whole night, there's no other people come in for dinner either.
I ordered the seafood plate, the shrimps are very very dry and salty, probably the worst I've ever had.
The Oysters are also very average, my friends think it's nothing like the usual White Pearls they normally had.
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. If I need to pick one thing to recommend, it'll be their cheesecake.

It wasn't easy for us to find the restaurant and I'm not sure if it's actually on Aberdeen St or Staunton St. It was not very busy since it was the mid autumn festival.
We brought our own wine and the waiter placed it in a cooler but never intended to open it. After the first dish arrived, my husband tried to open it himself and attracted one of the waiters' attention and he then opened it for us. I was quite disappointed with the wine glasses there. I sincerely hope that they would invest a bit more in the cutlery and tableware.
We ordered a seafood platter but I don't think it was that good as other critics here would think. It was a small platter so we got 4 oysters and I can only say they were fresh but nothing more than that. The snails were a bit tough and those shrimps are quite small.
The lobster pasta which my friend ordered looked ok but the plate they use for main course is far too small! They didn't even realise they should give u a plate just for the shells.... and the taste for it, my friend said it's very average. He said u can't taste the lobster in the sauce whatsoever. I guessed he was saying the sauce was a bit bland.
My french pigeon... to be honest, I'd rather have a chinese roast pigeon. It's skin was thick and fatty and I think I could taste soy sauce in that french sauce! Kind of like "Soy sauce Western Dinner."
Desserts we had that night were probably better than the main cousres. We shared a creme brulee and rose ice-cream. They were ok.
Service wise, I think the waiters are being very polite but might need some proper training.

this is my third time to come, but this time i come disppointed.

1) the nice mature waiter is not here this time
2) the food - i order 無花果salad, it suck. it charge more than $100 , but the dish is so small and only 2 無花果is there. And the main problem is: the 無花果唔熟! it is green and tasteless! i ask the young waiter to change it for me, and then he said the fresh Fig is like that. I really angry, did they eat Fig before? itsurpose to be red and sweet! try anyone fm supermarket! they change another 2 for me, but still green and totally 無味! very disappointed!

they shouldn't serve to the customer when the whole pack is not in good condition and they should educate to the waiter about the food

I think the price is quite reasonable for a set dinner for two... around 700?

To be fair i think the seafood platter is quite impressive given what u've paid...

The mains and the rest r just OK... actually a bit disappointing... cos there're better ones around with similar prices.. but of cos u wouldn't be able to hv a seafood platter at this price elsewhere...

However services are excellent and quiet even on weekends, lightening isnt dark enough...

Overall, OK.. wont go back again, but not a bad experience.

有french crab, 蝦, 螺同mussels... the original set dinner is include 4 oysters and big clams, but this night they told us the clam is not fresh, so they prefer to give us 2 more oyster! Great!it is more valuable than clams! very touching!

again, their service is very good!

甜品:玫瑰花雪糕- very special.

But one thing different with lunch, they will open a bottle of mineral water for you which charge around $35.

read about the good comments here, especially about the seafood platter, so decided to come here with a few friends after work.

the first impression of the place is a nice, elegant, a little old school kind of place, nothing fancy or avant garde, but comfortable enough. The problem arose when we told them that we didn't make a reservation, and after a few moments, the manager decided to give us a separate table by the beverages bar, that was separated from the rest of the room by a screen. This area of the room was obviously used for storing spare chairs and tables and a jacket was hanging off a coat hanger... If it weren't for the constant whirling and whizzing noise from the mixer and blender, we wouldn't have minded sitting there, since we were being stupid and cracking jokes and hooting with laughter the whole night... what can we say, we didn't make a booking on a thursday night... one thing though, they played pop music from backstreet boys etc.... that needs to be changed!!

They poured us a glass of sparkling fruit juice to start off with, then gave us the menu. The waiter was quite helpful, and very patient with us as we were basically mucking around... they also refilled our bread basket a couple of times.... the baguette was warm, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

We ordered a large seafood platter ($480), mushroom soup that was served in a large upside down mushroom (about $68 i think).... that was quite innovative, you can eat the mushroom afterwards, and the rack of lambs, the braised lamb knuckle and the osso buco ($138 each). Had to pay for the water though, $70 for 2 large bottles of Vittel, ok la, can't complain.

The seafood platter had 2 types of oysters, TG1 and pearl, 4 each, some shrimps, conches, mussels and half a cholesterol-laden crab. My friends seemed happy with the quality. The mushroom soup was served interestingly in a mushroom, but the taste wasn't that special. The lamb knuckle was tender, not "so", and nicely seasoned, and it came with some vegetables and potatos. The waiter gave me extra sauce to go with it. I tried a bit of my friends' rack of lamb (the meat was a funny pink colour, and it didn't have much taste to it... one can easily find better quality elsewhere) and the osso buco (tender, but there wasn't much "meaty" taste to it). We didn't have wine to go with the meal, but the waiter had offered it to us without being too pushy.

We were too full for dessert, but they gave us a fruit platter afterwards. Overall, not bad, but Poppy's in Tin Hau can cook the same quality of main courses (and probably bigger portions too), and many other places serves more impressive seafood platters.

It's really a nice restaurant for seafood. We ordered the set dinner together with an extra small seafood platter. There a small portion of seafood from the dinner set but we were afraid that it would not be enough for the four of us. We were all surprised when we saw the seafood platter. It's so big. The seafood, especially the crabs are excellent. I have never tried such a great dessert before - rose ice-cream. Maybe, it's because I am crazy for rose. But it's really worth a try!!!!!

That night, there were not many people. Maybe it's because it's weekday. Also the waiter there (I am not sure if he's the owner or the waiter) is really nice and helpful. He helped us to take photos. Also my friend left behind her mobile accidentally and he called us bakc to picked it up. I am sure I will go again!!!!!

One more thing to remind you all that u can bring along with you your own bottle of wine and they charge nothing for that.

Defintely can't say the dishes were signature French. Neither was the environment representational (it could easily be serving Indian food, and it would have felt like an Indian food restaurant).

The seafood platter was chilled to the right temperature, and the oysters (TG1 & Pearl) were quite fresh.
French Onion soup tasted like how onion soups should be....full flavoured.
The Parma Ham served was execellent and creamy.
The roast pigeon was disappointing...very plain with a non-arousing sauce.
The ox-tail was full flavored, but was more of expectation than surprising.

When you ordered something the restaurant didn't have, the manager seems to like saying "your request is not fresh, we prefer not serving to you", instead of "we ran out of stock".

Need to improve the quality of their olive oil and vinaigrette, and selection of tea offered (liptons?)

Keeping some sorbet for dessert would be nice.

Some waiters were simply too inexperienced....didn't know what was olive oil (in english..had to repeat it in chinese).

But for value, I thought it was alright. Can try once, to judge for yourself.

About 2 weeks ago, my friend introduce to me to go the restaurant was called " Bravo Latata " .

Firstly, when I arrived there near seven but they haven't another customer there. A girl who short hair and wear earring very nice.

Next, A strong man who wear a glasses introduce what the special tonight. When I order seafood platter which included crab, oyster , sea whelks and prawns.etc

Thus, I order the Fig salad which coming in France ( The man talk to me ) and I feel fresh but the salad sauce little bit pour.

Later , I order seafood soup and mushroom soup . I think the mushroom soup so creamy but the seafood soup so good.

In the main course . When I order piegon because the waiter who curly hair said the sauce can't make with another shop.

My friend order lobster pasta which make me surprise because the lobster so "big" and the sauce mix the pasta very good.

Finally , I try the Rose Ice- cream and Cream Burlee . But this 2 desserts make me disappointed because Rose ice-cream not included taste of Rose , similar added some syrup about Rose and to common about Cream Burlee .

So I suggest if add some decoration about desserts make better.

Conclusion , The restaurant so far so good .
Although the waiter not to professional but they very nice and politely. The food also fantastic.
Try to your best.
