Yesterday I tried this place with 2 friends and found the experience to be very positive. I don’t know about the experience of previous posters, but I found the service to be brilliant, I give them full marks for service.
We got there about 8pm on a Saturday evening and there was only a very short queue ( 1 table). After a 30-second wait, the girl at the reservations desk politely explained to us they had no 4-seat tables left and offered to seat us at a larger table than normal - we ended up with a spacious self-enclosed 6-seat table instead. The waitresses’service were very professional. They were always attentive to our table’s needs and I must say I haven’t enjoyed such good service from a medium-priced Japanese restaurant for quite a while. When each food item arrived, they expertly explained each food item to us, and how to eat the Sukiyaki we ordered.
Thye were also quick to take orders, and were not pushy, we ending up chatting for at least 30 minutes after we finished eating, and the waitress never bothered us except to pour more green tea for us now and again.
The food was nice - the portions are somewhat larger than Wataxx, their biggest competitor. As for what we ate, for the three of us, we ordered 6 dishes (such as sukiyaki hotpot, okonomiyaki, buttered scallops, mini pizza, a vegetarian sushi roll and a 7-types-of-sushi boat), plus three cocktail drinks. Naturally we were very full. The final bill came to about $150 per person, and we left a nice tip for the service staff since the waitresses were so nice to us. J
Overall it was a highly enjoyable experience and I’m sure I will be going back again!
