Satay Chicken, Pork and Beef - $75 for 6 Sticks
The highlight of this is actually the Satay sauce, which is mixed with Pineapple mince! This method is sometimes found in Singaporean hawker stores too but even there, it is difficult to find unless if u know exactly where to head to. Well we have this in Hong Kong now, and only for a short period. On the other hand, the Satays also had a good marination. Liked the pork one the best. Thought the beef was a little over-grilled tough. ~ 7/10 *I expected some cucumbers, onions and raw pineapples on the side.

    .

    Hainanese Chicken - $98
This didn't come with any rice for some reason. But the chicken tasted a little too dense with refrigerated taste. The best thing? The sauces were genuinely Singaporean style like. You can't take the latter for granted, as the sophisticated home-made Chili Paste, the Ginger with Garlic mince, the Thick Viscous Soy Sauce - they taste very different in Singapore and is more in your face... Here they had the right package. ~ 6/10

    .

    Curry Laksa - $70
The noodles. They are the original THICK White Vermicelli type. In Hong Kong, most shops serve the cham cham Half-Yellow mee and Half thin Vermicelli variation, which is more found in Malaysia but this here is actually the most original version! In Singapore's Katong region, the noodles are cut up and eaten with a spoon by lazy people. tongue Anyway this is the only restaurant apart from Katong Laksa HK which serves this most original translucent noodle! The soup here surprisingly was quite curry like thick but not coconutty, it was more Malaysian than Singaporean to my taste bud, though definitely not the coconutty Malaysian-Nyonya style. There are just so many variations....

They could do with some cockles and Laksa leaves too! Also Mint leaves. ~ 7/10

    .

    Curry Crab -
As a side note, the Buffet here including all you can drink juices, wines or beers is only $268 until 30th of Nov, and normal price is only $328. The buffet didn't look so appealing but surprisingly when we dabbled into some food items to try, they tasted quite decent. At this price point with unlimited alcohol, and you can have curried crabs and roast beef, it is actually quite a bargain.

Well above average Smile Aug 19, 2012

Sunday lunch with mum .. .

Foods and services are well above average with $138 for sunday lunch buffet.

Salads - Romaine / rocket / Italian dressings are my favorites
Hot dishes - Fillet of sole / ox tongue / mixed veg are good dishes
Made to order - Vietnam noodles / waffles are wonderful

I can see Michael (Manager) is doing very good in customer services
and excellent in staff management. As I can feel patience, politeness
    and profession from staff.
    - - it happend a customer who sneezed on the lemon at the tea/coffee counter.
my husband told the staff, he took away the dish to kitchen immediately
without any hesitation. He then returned with fresh lemon after 20 minutes.

Sometimes, we dined at some famous hotel cafes for buffets . . .
definitely we wont feel the services as good as Island Pacific Hotel.

    Good Value !!!

Average Buffet Dinner Just OK Aug 30, 2010

Read the commercial reported on the magazines - beautiful shots showed this place offering nice stuff.

We booked a dinner buffet table and visited this Sunday evening. After trying it, we would say okay for the variety, but not superb for the offering, especially the Barbecue Section - the chicken ring and ox tongue grilled were not well grilled or cooked yet mad

The salad, deesert/fruit sections were okay.
Cooked foods were okay, but not impressive as it was described on the magazine.

Well, one time is enough. After all, it was charged of HKD225 per head, after enjoying 30% off.
