XTC Gelato  

Just got back from Italy, still in a mood for gelato although I'm not an ice cream fan honestly. Moreover, there are a couple of flavors which were very tempting. I chose rum with raisin and tofu eventually, $45.

Rum with raisin: could taste the liquor, but not strong. It's understandable since usually Asians are so into alcohol as western people do. So just felt a little bit rum, no other feeling afterwards, not like Malaga I had in Rome.

Tofu: it's a very good creation and localization. It tasted okay, seems too plain, but not sweet neither. There was a problem that I had ice flake, which means the ice, milk and other ingredients didn't mix very well.

Although it can't be compared with gelato in Italy, not even close, it still got something good, such as the special flavors. Apart from tofu, they serve hk milk tea as well. However, hope it could make it better which is definitely possible.

It is my first time eating ice cream in XTC, their service is not too bad
and the shop smelled so good with the scent of butter
I tried cookies and cream but it was far too sweet for me
so I bought vanilla caramel brownie flavour because it sounded so tempting.
Well but i was quite disappointed it just tasted like vanilla with some bits of brownie, it was too sweet and the ice cream tasted no caramel. I also ate chocolate, which came in lumps and it was abit too bitter.

I would prefer haagen dazs or movenpick if i had a go for ice cream in tsim sha tsui

What could be better than having nice icy gelato in summer? I had always wanted to try XTC everytime I take ferry, and this time, I finally had it.

I tried about four to five flavours in one go and found their gelato wasn't as good as I thought they were. Nothing that I tasted made me had the emotional impulse to get it at once. Finally I tried XTC chocolate and found it pretty okay. Since I went all the way into the shop and tried those flavours, I figured I should at least get a scoop.

1) XTC Chocolate
I bought a single scoop in cups for the XTC chocolate flavour. The chocolate taste was extremely rich and strong, the after taste stayed pretty long as well. Pretty indulging but it was rather sweet though. The texture was smooth but it melted really fast even if you stay in an ac room.

2) Tofu
My boyfriend ordered tofu without giving it a try. I was kind of worry as the few flavours I chose wasn't exactly the taste I like. He commented it was rather difficult to have bad tofu...Turned out he was right about it, XTC tofu was really nice! The tofu flavour was really strong, so it was like eating an icy smooth tofu! Then I bet their sesame should be good as well.

To conclude, I think I am more a haagenz Dazs person or froyo person. XTC wasn't something of my liking...I did remember I love eating gelato when I was in Barcelona...seems liked no matter how crazy the Barcelona's gelato souns, they always taste good! Another thing is the appearance of the ice-cream tray. It wasn't exactly something appetizing... May be they should work a bit on the marketing aspect?
