Whats up with the service? Cries Jul 11, 2010

This is my 3rd time to eat in this restaurant.
First 2 times were alright. The food were good but nothing special.

This time I brought my friend to try it out.
We were 3rd one waiting and many others behind us in line.
    And guess what.

A woman suddenly jumped in and walked right inside and talked to the cashier.
The woman seemed to know the restaurant well and the cashier quickly gave a seat to the lady. huffyhuffyhuffy

Come on!! Whats up with that?? This is so unreasonable for the people outside. People behind us already pointing and sweating at the lady.

Overall the food are alright. Chicken wings are good. Others are just "big portion" and nothing special and the price is a bit higher than usual cafe.

    I ordered the following:

    鮮牛蛋治
    阿華田奶昔

It was excellent quality, portions were big and very filling. I especially loved the Ovaltine Milkshake, nothing beats this when its' so hot outside. It's 100000 times better den McDonald's milkshakes. The only downside is the cramped tables but this is Hong Kong, we all know how cramped it is in general. And m/b you have to wait in the heat for a little while but it's still worth it, I guess i recommend people coming in winter coz than it wouldn't be as hot (when waiting outside).

After noting the good recommendation of this local cafe, we got a a chance to try out earlier today. We travelled from Island side to Tsuen Wan. Upon arrival, we noted a queue was there before us and we joined the queue. This took us more than 40 minutes to get into the Cafe. We ordered shrimp and vegi dumplings with soup. This dish came quickly. The shrimp dumplings were fresh and had good taste. The milk tea was nothing special. As for the sandwich and toast we ordered, it took us more than 40 minutes, we were waiting and waiting. It came finally and the egg the Cafe has done was so thick. See the photo. The ingredient, fresh beef had very good taste. You have to be patient when visiting this cafe.

gala gala Smile Mar 08, 2009

great yummy food, but there are a few things you may want to note before going.

don't except your food to come fast. sandwiches may take up to 15 mins for them to make, omelet may take 20 mins, noodles are usually the fastest with around 5-10 mins, and lastly don't except your drinks to come first. mine usually comes after i finish eating the noodles and before the sandwiches come. my recommendation: bring a friend along to chat during the long waits. if you can get pass the waiting game, the food for sure will not disappoint you. tongue

my normal meal at gala includes: an iced lemon tea, chicken wings, wonton/beef macaroni, and maybe a beef/egg sandwich (they have two types of beef for sandwiches. i like the corned beef type)

iced lemon tea- as good as any other "tea restaurant"

chicken wings- marinated in soy sauce and cooked to perfection. add a little sweet and sour sauce to add another depth to the taste

wonton/beef macaroni- yummy shrimp wonton with melt in your mouth beef. i believe the beef are cooked for hours as you only need to chew 2-3 times.

beef/egg sandwich- egg are perfectly done. soft and still a little watery and about 1 inch tall tongue there's a small layer of beef which is great as if more beef will make the sandwich too salty.

environment is considered really clean compared to any other "tea restaurant" in tsuen wan or even in hk

Finaly lunch here at mid of Jan. Me and gf are trying to lunch here at Saturday. But there are alot of peoples lining up for seat. So we choose take away. Have order 蛋牛治, its very very thick. I've never eat a sandwich like that. The inside thing are thicker than the bread. Tast very good. The egg inside are juicy. 雞翼湯米 are just normal. 火腿小奄列 are realy so so so big as other peoples said. And tast good too. They make all egg's meal very great. Were happy after this meal. But its too full after. Maybe we are having too much eggs. Ha ha ha. We even can't eat dinner at night. But its a good resturant!

My friends always tell me to give this resturant a try. But one bad things about this resturant is its opening hours. The door is closed before 11 a.m. so no good for breakfast, and there are too many people during lunch hours.

Finally, I got a chance to try a few of their popula dishes.
    1) Soy Sause Chicken Wings -- The chicken wings looked pretty good but the taste was so so.
    2) Big Egg & Ham Omelet -- It's very big, like a hill on the plate. The taste was pretty good but the eggs weren't too smooth.
    3) Corn Beef Sandwich -- There was a lot of corn beef within the sandwich. You can share a order with your friend. The taste was good but a little too oily.

Overall, the food in this resturant are good but too crowed for a meal.
