After getting harassed by the corporate world, my friends took me to Boqueria during our lunch break. "A Spanish restaurant" they said. I wasn't too enthusiastic. We took a seat right at the end- I dove towards the sofa and closed my eyes.
A friendly waiter greets you with the menu. I ordered the seafood paella, after I was told that it was one of the popular items on the menu. Apart from that, we ordered Croquettas Cremosas-mushroom croquettas, Albondigas-lamb meatballs and Patata Bravas-a special potato treat.
Given the size of the order, the waiting time was reasonable- 10 to 15 minutes, with the dishes arriving in smooth sucession.
Digging my tired teeth into the food-it was simply splendid.
Croquettas-the way the mushrooms oozed out of the crispy light fried exterior and massaged my tongue. No words.
The lamb meatballs has a "soft" attitude in them-as if they were looked after and cared for, dressed in a friendly tomatoes puree. It was a pleasure biting these virgin meatballs.

The Patata Bravas were "crispy-softees"-thats what I would say-the moisture stays where it is without comprimising the crispy exterior after your bite-simply delicious.
The welcoming entre got me into one of my light moods. Now I was ready to embrace the Paella-which simply shook me.
The seafood on top..as if the sea creatures were protecting the moist vapors escaping from beneath the bomba rice. However I wanted to break the harmony and let the vapors tickle my tastebuds-and I went for it. Every time you dug the spoon into it, the vapors would escape while moisturizing the gems on your spoon. I have no words to describe the Paella's dominance.
It was culinary skills, nature and warmth at its best at Boqueria. A must go after getting harassed by the algorithmic and monotonous corporate world!
