We got married at the Langham so we have been going back to the hotel for our anniversary dinner every year.  We have tried every other restaurant at the Langham so this year we have decided to try the Bostonian.

We were greeted with the restaurant manager and waiters as soon as we entered.  And after looking at the menu, we have decided to try the lobster sashimi, seafood tower.  We wanted to try both the french onion soup and lobster bisque.  So the restaurant manager told us that we could order half of each so we could try both~
And he also recommended the ribeye steak so we ordered one too.

The seafood were great but not as good as I would have expected with this price.  The french onion soup was a little tasteless.... On the other hand, the lobster bisque was excellent.  No wonder this is their signature dish.  The ribeye steak was probably the best dish for the night.  A bit surprised that their cooked food are better than their seafood, when I thought this is a seafood restaurant.

After dinner, we asked if we could add the words "Happy Anniversary" onto the plate when we order dessert.  The waiter said the pastry chef has left for the day so they couldn't do it.

I was disappointed ONCE AGAIN as we have been told the same thing at the other restaurants in this hotel that we have been to every year for our anniversary!  So we have decided to ask another waiter (who look more senior) as the restaurant manager was not around.  Basically we just wanted to know what time this pastry chef leave so that we will know if we should order this earlier during our dinner next year.  The waiter didn't answer our question directly, and didn't offer any alternatives.

Apparently, this waiter is a friend with the table next to us.  So earlier on, we saw him offering a selection of cake (smaller version so that they could try a little bit of each) with a candle for the birthday girl at that table.  Not sure if it was for free but at least he provided some sort of surprise to them as they were his friends.  Whereas, when we mentioned that we got married here and we have been back every year, he didn't try to provide any alternatives but to mention he couldn't do a thing as the pastry chef has left.  We were hoping they could provide some sort of alternatives as he obviously did something for the table next to us.  I was shocked especially this is considered a fine dining restaurant in a 5 star hotel.  Was expecting better service.  The waiter left our table with a look without any smile and we still didn't get the answer that we wanted
.  All we wanted to know is the time the pastry chef leaves the hotel every day so we can plan ahead next year!

Too disappointed at this point that I have lost my appetite to order any dessert.  Too obvious that if you are not friends or old customers with them, they don't care as much.  And the waited didn't give us any smile or thank us when we paid for our bill.  I did spend quite a lot of money for this meal and i spent a LOT of money for my banquet in this hotel.  All I got was this.  Ruined our mood and we are considering not going back to this hotel to celebrate our anniversary anymore in the future.
