We had our MoDEP there (Monthly Dinner for Extraordinary People). There were six of us. I had already been there once so I already knew what to expect. We as a group had decided on this restaurant because #1: we have 2 carnivores with big appetites among us so we thought an all-you-can-eat Mongolian BBQ would be ideal; #2: it is affordable, i.e., HKD 200 per person after 10% charge for dinner buffet. For lunch it is HKD 90 per person after 10% charge as posted on the wall. The restaurant is dim

The restaurant is dim and sparsely decorated; don't go there expecting a stylish restaurant.

There is a salad bar with a joining dessert bar; opposite of which is a full arcade of both vegetables, meats (beef, chicken and pork, sometimes they have lambs but not that night), and pizza base (dough with sauce on it for you to choose the toppings you want to make your own pizzas).

For vegetarians, there are quite a few vegetarian selections to choose from; i.e., baby corns, carrots, bean sprouts, four kinds of noodles, three or four leafy vegetables, tofu, and tomatoes.

There are also 4 kinds of sauces; I would recommend Mongolian as well as Teriyaki sauce for those who don't have much thresholds for spiciness. Once you choose all of the meats and vegetables you like, you can then head to the cooking station where the chiefs would cook for you and bring to your table (you will get a chip with a number which matches the number written in marker on your table). My food was overly cooked this time hence I only had one bowl of cooked food; I remember the food was cooked better last time. As long as you bear in mind that this restaurant isn't meant for connoisseurs and you'll be fine.

I quite like the soup of the salad bar; first time I went there they had sweet corn and chicken chowder and it was quite delicious (I had 4 bowls, I think). This time they had Mushroom Soup and it was equally delicious. It was creamy and moderately seasoned; I had 4 bowls again.

The service is tolerable: we encountered either blatant negligence the first time (the waiters didn't come to attend us even though my friends raised their hands to order drinks for quite a while even though the restaurant was hardly crowded) and overly attentive waitresses the second time (my bowl of soup was almost taken away from me at least twice even though I was barely half way through). My feeling was that the turn-over rate for waiters and waitresses must be quite high as evidenced by those seemingly inexperienced servers.

In conclusion, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who doesn't expect gourmet food and who simply wants to eat to his/her heart's content.
