Booking was easy and staff helpful with this. Restaurant is nicely decorated and tables pleasingly far apart.
Food standard for starters and main course was excellent and quantity was large.
Unfortunately it all fell apart when we asked for dessert. It too 50 minutes for dessert to come. Two reminders to them before it finally came and even then they still forgot one dessert- Panna Cotta. The desserts that did come were two tiramisu and two sorbet. Presentation of the tiramisu looked like the desserts had been rushed onto the plate and the sorbet was half melted.
One of my group ran out of time and had to leave.
I cancelled the panna cotta and summoned the manager who apologised and brought me two 10% discount coupons for next time (expired in March 2012- yes 2012). Although he said they would be honoured, coupons were just not enough. If he was sincerely sorry, he would have taken 10% off THIS meal not expected me to return for another meal to receive the 'apology'.
Quite simply, the staff could not cope with a full restaurant and spoiled a good meal for me. While the food was very good overall, I'm not going to walk all the way up to this inconveniently located restaurant again because the service did not match the food quality nor the ambience of the restaurant. They need to do better if they want to claim to be a fine dining restaurant.
