"Amore" means love in Italian. The name "Amore Italian Restaurant", undoubtedly, expressed its love for Italian cuisine. Locating at L'hart in Causeway Bay, the restaurant has a tremendously nice ambience and setting. It is splendor and magnificent, which makes a perfect atmosphere for a decent dinner. To start with, we had the bread basket. A nice start off makes the rest of the night enjoyable. Therefore, the bread basket, being the first thing to be served, is very essential in giving customers a great impression. This bread basket is memorable enough. What I liked about the bread basket is that there are various types of bread rolls served and each type are of a certain quality. I wouldn't say the bread is terrific or anything, but it's decent enough to give you a great impression to start with your dinner.
I can merely vaguely identify the names of the bread. To name a few, there are focaccia, bread sticks, some sesame crisps, and black buns which i suppose would be a squid ink roll. The bread rolls are all warm and fluffy, and that's absolutely a good start. For appetizers, we had the Sauteed Mussels w/ onion, garlic and parsley. I have always been fond of mussels. Normally I am more inclined to mussels from appetizers. I like it light and simple, flavored with herbs and tasting fresh. This mussels dish we had have definitely delighted me. I have always liked how the flavors of simple and natural ingredients blend into the fresh flesh of mussels. I have always adored the combination of onion, garlic and parsley or any other herbs. Such quality is always appetizing and I was tempted to not to leave a single drop of the sauce before the waiter take away the dish to serve the next.
Coming straight down to the main course, first came the Tiger Prawn Black Ink Risotto. The prawn is nicely grilled. It would be even better though if we get prawns with more shrimp paste as that would probably give rise to the aroma and flavor to the whole dish. Risotto was normally bounded to be a relatively heavy dish, and so they are just served in small portions, however, I was pleased to find that the one here is not too heavy and that probably explained the relatively larger serving size of the rice. What's more delightful about the risotto is that, other than a creamy texture, it combined the flavors from garlic and some prawn essence. That makes the dish a complete to-die-for and absolutely savory.
The other main course we had was the Wagyu Beef. Firstly, I was surprised to find that it is quite a huge slice. As we started cutting the steak, you can immediately tell that it was absolutely of a decent quality. After the first bite, all I can say is that it is amazingly good. It's juicy and rich yet tremendously tender as well. Every tiny detail about the steak is of perfection. We didn't add a drop of sauce for the steak. The steak itself tasted fabulous enough. It was definitely an unforgettable one. The salad served along is seasoned with black pepper, cheese and some vinegar, and is savory and appetizing too.
Such wonderful dinner couldn't not end with some scrumptious desserts. This is an Italian meal and it'd only feel right if you had an Italian dessert. We had the Panna Cotta for one of our desserts. The dessert is served on quite a large plate but nicely presented. In my opinion, the panna cotta was not silky and velvety enough for me. It seemed more like a pudding to me, but it ought to be a very nice pudding then.
Another one is definitely an all-time-favorite -- Dark Chocolate Lava Cake w/ ice cream. I totally can't be more delighted when there's 'lava' flowing out from the cake. The runny chocolate is warm and so rich, filling yourself with a sense of satisfaction. I only wished that the cake could be a bit larger in size, then that would be absolutely flawless.
It was totally an unforgettable experience to dine here. The food was undeniably great, even flabbergasting for some. The waiters are definitely professional and polite and have given us a great service to make our dinner enjoyable. Perhaps a little smile would add more friendliness leave an even better impression. The ambience is perfect, and it was not crowded at all that night, which gave extra quietness and privacy to the dinner. I have never expected to have found such a high quality restaurant around this place. A love for Italian? This place definitely fits the name.
