Read about this place in a magazine and gave it a try yesterday during lunch.
As mentioned by previous diners, the place is small and sits about 20 people, which means you must make a reservation to dine here.
Friends and I ordered all 3 appetizers and 3 out of the 4 main dishes except for the baguette sandwich.
Appetizer: - Both the fresh rice paper rolls and vegetarian rice paper rolls tasted similarly blend. Even with the fish sauce, which is much less salty than the usual, there was still not much taste. (Note that I'm not a fan of heavy taste but both rolls could use a bit more salt) - I didn't try the crispy spring rolls so cannot comment on it
Main Course: - Beef pho: Nothing to "whoa" about. Normal tasting - Chicken pho: This was more refreshing and tastier than the beef pho as the soup base was lighter yet still flavorful - Bun noodle salad: My favorite out of the 3. Good taste without being overly salty, which is often the case with the fish sauce. The 5-spice pork was nicely roasted with a bit of charcoal
For drinks, I had the hot spicy lemongrass ginger tea, which was right on in terms of sweetness and temperature. However, the portion was extremely small (much less than the cold drinks); I finished mine in 5 small sips.
In terms of service, all 3 including the boss were friendly and patient despite the heavy load of work. The place itself, however, was way too noisy given the small size and low ceiling. Together with the so-so food that weren't quite impressive, not sure whether I'd be back again...
