Recently, we’ve been trying out different restaurants at the Tai Hang Area. As a “Kowlooner”, I never really knew how to get to Tai Hang. It’s actually quite easy. Simply just get off Tin Hau MTR station Exit B and youll see the food district directly ahead of you.

This shop moved to a new location at Brown Street, No.21. I phoned them a number of times to ask for directions and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Although there weren’t too many tables (40 persons max), there were enough space between tables. It is pretty spacious with high ceiling and pretty good ventilation.

We ordered the following:

Uni and onsen tamago rice海膽溫泉玉子飯: This is definitely recommended. The Uni (Sea Urchin) was fresh and mixed well with the onseng tamago;

Lamb: Around $30 per piece. Done at medium. Quite delicious. The meat was tender and juicy.

Onion: This is slightly overcooked.

Sweet corn: Very sweet and nicely done.

Tsukune (minced Chicken Stick): This is served with onsen tamago as well. Nice presentation and tasted fine. Unfortunately, either the minced chicken was too dry or it was slightly overcooked. But the idea of dipping it with onsen tamago is good.

Sunagimo (chicken kidney 雞腎 ): served in thick slices. Delicious.

Buta tora: The quality of the meat is good. It is served with some sweet and sour turnip sauce. Not bad.

Unagi白鱔: Recommended by the waitress. Very good indeed.

Red-bean Mochi: This is surprisingly delicious! Good for rounding the dinner off.

They have a decent selection of sake available. We ordered Orion Beer (from Okinawa) and a Plum Chu-hi.

We ordered quite a lot of food so it came down to about $650 for two person (with drinks). The skewers are generally ranged between $20-65.

Very good service. Will definitely return. It seemed pretty busy so booking is recommended.
