Read about this new outlet from a press release in newspaper, although I'm not a fan of Angela or other pop artists, it sounds quite interesting to pay a visit and see how this "concept cafe" doing. Their marketing has been doing a great job on advertising and promotion, press release, printed advs as well as promotions along the Langham Place.

There is a big poster at the entrance. It's around 1:30pm, peak lunch hours but not fully occupied, nice.

It's very BLACK, black and white interior with black as dominant colour, with her picture as one-side of the wall and some others on the back wall; still I think it can be more aggressive to put more portraits even on the tables as it is a concept theme cafe anyway.

Seating is NOT comfortable at all. The setting and layout can be much better and customer oriented. They have 2-combined tables for 4 with one-sided sofa seating, supposed when there are customers of 2 or just 1, many restaurants will move one of the table slightly apart; to make 2 separate tables. However, they didn't. I was sitting with 2 ladies together, sharing table in such a "cafe". If it's a local cha can ting, 茶餐厅, or fast-food chain, for sure I wouldn't mind. Also, the table is far too heavy to adjust, while I was sitting on the sofa side, I had to lean my body forward to eat because it rather distant. When the lady sitting beside me stood up, the whole sofe moved backwards for over an inch; so strange that the table is heavier than the sofa.

Lunch menu has quite a lot of choices, A and B of starter and main course standing for Angela and Baby. Starter of either lobster bisque or salad; and main courses are several types of pasta, roasted chicken, grilled fish, Japanese pork, etc..and I saw one all-day-breakfast, interesting. Good combination of everything that seems you can definitely find something you want to eat.

The lobster bisque taste ok, not too salty with little lobster meat in there. However, when I finished half, there was 1 cm long spaghetti in it. I was telling myself it's just come from another cookware making spaghetti, along the cooking table....kept telling myself it's not from leftover...again, it's not a low-end 茶餐厅.

Another strange thing was, at least, a bit strange to me; 3 minutes after I finished the soup, around 20 minutes after I ordered my lunch, they served the bread. I don't know if it's their special practise, kind of unique flow of this cafe; but I prefer to have bread at the beginning, at latest serving together with the starter.

It caused another problem, the bread came with the main course, I ordered salmon with spaghetti in tomato sauce; after I finished the bread, the main course became cold.
One good thing is the bread taste good.

Talking about the main course, very disappointed. The spaghetti, I don't know if the 1cm long leftover-like spaghetti in my soup affect my appetite, was no good at all. I think they use kind of bad quality spaghetti, sourcing low quality of ingredients and no matter how simple it is, they cannot make it nice. The spaghetti was very lose, broken into several pieces. 好散, 好多都断开, 好碎. The fish was fine, medium done with little wasabi on it.

The lunch set includes drink, I thought it's coffee or tea as normal practise. However, they said regular coffee is kind of "special drink" and have to add $18 extra.....What is the drink included, Lychee tea ONLY...
This rule sounds weird, it's just regular coffee, not cappuccino or other fancy beverage. Never mind, I would like to have coffee, in a "cafe"; the coffee is not bad but the milk was cold, very cold
...this is another easy improvement they can make, offer hot milk for hot coffee please.

Another service flow matter, I finished the coffee and asked forthe bill, while waiting for the bill, another waitress asked if I want to take a look of the dessert menu, which is actually part of the lunch with additional charge. OMG, this should be donw after I finsihed the main and before the coffee....not after the customer asked for the bill.

One of the 2 ladies sitting next to me was having spaghetti bolognese, looks small portion in a pot; while her friend asking her if that's ok, she said..."no, no good at all". When they left, the last comment was "it's a disappointing try". Hm...I was thinking the same too.

After all, it's a fancy try, service was friendly, however the food quality was not satisfied , only the bread and coffee were nice. Most likely, won't come back again.
