There are actually two surprises. First, the restaurant is very busy. We got there around 8:00 pm and didn't get seated until 8:45 pm! We didn't expect such a long wait Secondly, the Tonkasu is surprisingly good
Since we want to try the cold udon, we just order a single Tonkasu instead of a set (which comes with appetizer, shredded cabbage, soup, and rice). I see that many people ask for refill of the shredded cabbage. So we raise the same request. But the waiter told us that free refill is only applicable to set dinner
Anyway, we enjoy the Tonkasu with the home made sauce very much. It is really out of expectation the crispy layer is done perfectly and it is not oily. The pork chop is tender and juicy. The favor is enriched by dipping it into the homemade sauce blended with sesame. Cold udon is good too. Very al dente. And it tastes even better with the minced ginger.
We also order the Kettle Rice with Beef. The rice is slowly cooked in a kettle. That's why it takes 30 min to prepare And it turns out to be really good. Rice well absorbs the beef favor and it is kept HOT in the pot for a long time. Yummy
Lastly, I want mention the service. I want admire the receptionist. She is the one passing out tickets in front of the restaurant. She has a great attitude. A lot of people go to her to check on the approximate wait time. She replies very nicely to everyone and keeps on saying thank you. You know, in some restaurants, the receptionist doesn't have much patience. When you ask how long the wait is, she will probably show you a bad face. I've seen it many times
Surprised!
